strongb0w Posted June 19 Posted June 19 I would post a debug log but even after enabling it in the .ini file, no log is being generated. Apologies. The author of Alternate Start acknowledged a CTD related to mods that edit female skeletons. This happens whenever a player interacts with the bed to initiate their alternate start. Disabling CBBE fixed this issue, which made sense. When reading CBBE's mod page for help, I installed the outfits part of the mod, built the relevant batches, and then tried to start the game again to see if that did anything. Fascinatingly enough, my game no longer CTD when I interact with the bed.... but it does when I leave the building alternate start spawns me in. Clearly my game is super unstable. I have no idea why I'm not generating debug logs, I enabled the correct .ini settings through MO2. If this helps, here are the mods I have installed. If anyone has a similar set up, then maybe you can point me to recent patches or conflicts that I'm not seeing. Whether that is your load order or modlist, it's a mess. Perhaps google up "Skyrim se S.T.E.P." and see where you are going wrong.

Most of what is listed are all dependencies for the couple mods I actually wanted to play with. SL Defeat and then Bandits Paradise for a little more content. Literally everything else is some kind of dependency.

Please refer to a proper install guide, like Skyrim S.T.E.P.

Quickly realized that I needed MO2, so skyui was the only one to get done manually. And I'm running the latest game version, 1.6.1170. Are you about to tell me that HDT is outdated? Because that's the latest release on Nexus and its a dependency and dependency for dependencies.

It's much less common to see an installation guide that says where this mod should be in the actual mod list.

Yeah so I didn't know that this existed. This has happened several times already. I install a mod, realize that it doesn't work, then dig for an explanation until someone says "oh yeah that's outdated here's the new one." I'm using the HDT-SMP from like 2020 because that's what comes up when you type that into Google.

Left hand side is Priorities, right hand side is load order, two separate things, and in BOTH cases USSEP should be loade fairly high up in the lists. TRY a proper guide you might learn something

Then you should have uninstalled SkyUI and reinstalled it correctly via MO2. 3 hours ago, strongb0w said: And I'm running the latest game version, 1.6.1170. Are you about to tell me that HDT is outdated? No I'm saying AE (1.6.x) and 1.5.97 are two different versions of Skyrim and as a rule of thumb assume they don't mix and match. Also, that HDT-SMP mod has not ben updated since 2020 and the first sticky post (dated December 2023) states: "For any versions of Skyrim AE (1.6.x), use Faster HDT-SMP instead of the builds available here" As @judge007 has been trying to tell you: "USE A GUIDE" The S.T.E.P. guide is a good one or: For SE https://www.loverslab.com/topic/136543-mod-organizer-2-other-tools-from-zero-to-hey-sexlab-is-working/ https://www.loverslab.com/topic/118460-skyrim-se-for-beginners-v-319-3bbb-hdt-smp-hph/ https://www.loverslab.com/topic/200681-skyrim-ae-for-beginners-v-2915-3ba-hdt-smp-hph-wip/ https://www.loverslab.com/topic/94228-se-compatibility-tracking-apr-23/ https://www.loverslab.com/topic/126227-sexlab-index-se/ GamerPoets vids for MO2 and other tools. The first hit is to HDT-SMP on Nexus; the third is to a 2026 YT vid on how to set up FSMP; and the fifth is to FSMP on Nexus. There is a lot of reading involved in modding Skyrim - snatching at the first thing you see will generally end in tears. 1
