I do plan to transfer the mods I made from Daybreak 2 to Horizon but it will take some time since I’m working on Part 3 of my mod series.

Does DOA Summer work with Horizon, looking forward to your work

They should but I’ll need to make the tables and assign the dlc numbers for each again. I also might need to update the mi folder and replace with horizon’s mi files. I don’t know if I need to or not because idk what they changed.

Characters with equip screens include chr5001, 5003, 5005, 5007, 5110, 5112, 5113, 5114, 5117, 5119, 5120, 5121, 5122, 5302, and 5327. Oh and I guess 0004. You could try deleting all the other MDL and mi files. I haven’t tried this personally, so some troubleshooting might be needed. (Also I’m typing this from my phone from memory so some of those numbers might not be correct.)

Thanks so much, that seems to work! 🙌

Sigh once again same thing as his mod for trails chapter 1 can't use my cards to pay for it and can't use paypal for reasons I will not disclose so I only have access to jmedia's mod wish I could make all the girls nude but I can't buy the mod so I am out of luck waiting for someone else to hopefully make one.

@lakovicdude I love your work but you need a better more user friendly and stable website to sell your mods on that take credit cards and or bank cards forcing paypal is kinda a bad move when not everyone can use it for w.e reason.

Can somebody remind me what tool is needed to make .mi files be readable by text editors? I want to compare the values of some of the Sky jiggle mods to Horizon's .mi files. Though, oddly enough, the .mi files provided for amorrow's N&S conversion can be read no problem.

I think you use decode bin json script in the decode_binary_json folder in his tool.

@amorrow28 The game updated last night to r23 and the free camera script doesn't work anymore. Thought I'd give you the heads-up.

Cheat engine scripts updated for full retail game, v1.0.6 r23, download here.  Free camera, purchase override updated; party editor, DLC dependency check removal unchanged.

Hello. First thank you very much, loving the mods.

Almost everything works great but I have had issues compiling the p3a when including the texture packs for the background NPCs, maybe because its for the CLE release? I made sure both texture packs were included, downloaded them seperately and also with the all in one, with no luck

I remember you. You threatened in a post about The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky to report us to Falcom just because we wouldn’t let you download mods for free. Now what excuse have you come up with to disrupt this entire thread? Why don’t you keep reporting until this forum gets shut down? It’s truly sickening to see people like you.

@tiger2012010you remember the wrong people. its not me. its the guy called teiolovers. different people. you mistaken me as him. he is the one that said will report to falcom. LOL

Hi, can you tell me what exactly went wrong when compiling the texture pack? I tried it on my end and I am able to compile it into an 880 MB p3a file. (I don’t have a NISA copy, so I can’t test it in-game.) Will the issue still occur if you compile the texture pack only?

So just to clarify something: lakovic's sexy & nude mod is supposed to make all of the NPC females nude by default, right? I just want to make sure I didn't somehow mess it up. Also means I'll have to go in and modify which files I use, because at least I can put SFW outfits on my party members when I know other people might be around.....can't really do that with the NPCs if they're just going to be permanently nude, lol.

Lmao I had the same ideas at first but quickly had to abandon that plan and move on to plan B, which is to go to menu. Not an issue on week days but weekends can get quite busy my side.

Not complaining at all though I asked for this in the FC thread and was overjoyed when I saw it done in Horizon. I really didn't expect so many characters.

As for the PayPal thing I suggested to @lakovic that he makes a Patreon so we can all just swipe without issue. I hope he does because I can't swipe on itch either (there's something wrong there because I can buy other games just fine) and had to make a new PayPal account to use KoFi. Something I didn't really want to do.

No, most NPCs are clothed. Only important NPCs and some generic ones (the girls on blacklight district for example) are naked/show more.

Having a bit of a conundrum, so I need some advice.

I bought Lakovic's mod, however I only intend to mod the playable characters and not EVERYONE. So I followed @amorrow28's instructions and copied the listed files to their directories.

I'm only 10 hours in so I don't have the towel costumes, so I'm using the bathhouse to test.

The females (and Quatre) were without bodies, and Quatre suddenly grew really long hair (to the point where I thought it was another character). So I went back and noticed I copied some extra files I didn't need; deleted those and..Quatre's fixed but not the females. Tried copying the relevant files from model_info as well (into the model_info directory), STILL no dice.

Then I copied the .dds files, and now it works as intended.

However....I copied ALL of the .dds files, including ones for the characters I'm not modding, which I feel is unnecessary and fear could screw something up later on.

So, without spoilers for the playable characters...what .dds files do I need, and which can I safely delete?

I don't think the DDS files matter? Mods are packed with the relevant texture files because the mdl will need to look for them. If you didn't include them, the game shouldn't have a reason to look for them. Probably best to keep all of the texture files. I don't think it will matter.

Welp, that would explain why the females only had heads. lol

The DDS files are named a little differently than the MDLs (I did also try to copy the files that were named similarly to the MDLs, that didn't work either), and even the reference file included didn't help, which is why I gave up and just copied everything in that folder.

If there's no more issues then I guess I'll just keep it as is.

Oh, and regarding Linux...I just ran the process in Windows and then (after testing) copied the resulting P3A over to my Deck. lol

best I got is this screenshot I get when I have the NPC .dds files inside the dx11/image folder and run make_p3a.bat

image.png.dce3c472fbdc5f23ddfd2ec8034ce98b.png

as soon as I take those out, it runs without problems

EDIT: sorry I missed the last part of your message. if I take out the rest of the .dds files (only the bg npc dds files), it compiles fine, which is interesting.

I pasted that resulting p3a into my mods folder and we're good to go! awesome work and thank you!

That’s an interesting error message, I’ve never managed to cause that despite extensive testing. My guess is that the archive is too small or too big. I would use '-c lz4’ instead of ‘-c zstd-dict’ in that case, assuming the folder you are attempting to compress is otherwise correct.

P3A CONVERSION TUTORIAL FOR LINUX

Okay, so I've come up with a bit of a tutorial for those of you who want to convert Kai (CLE) mods in Linux. I am using @lakovic's mod as an example using Steam Deck. You can even convert multiple mods at once this way, if you want.

1. Prepare the mod as per @amorrow28's instructions here. Create a new folder, grab the p3a_archive.exe from the kai_to_horizon archive and put it in that folder along with the folder containing the files for your mods. (Bottles doesn't support running .BAT files.)

Spoiler

Screenshot_20260122_014515.png.c3679672f164c4b36f819ad34ea58984.png

2. Download Bottles and Flatseal. You can find them in your Linux distribution's app store (e.g. Discover).

3. Open Flatseal, find and select Bottles in the application list.

4. Find "All user files" under Filesystem. Turn it on.

Spoiler

Screenshot_20260122_014603.png.1c467aa1f0e51cfc10ad53f0fd5c9f25.png

5. Now, open Bottles. Create a new bottle (+ at the upper left). Choose Custom, leave everything as is.

Spoiler

Screenshot_20260122_014729.png.a9ee522daf0efd95a5311f6a5c78fcd3.png

6. Click on the bottle you just created. Click Add Shortcuts, and add p3a_archive.exe.

Spoiler

Screenshot_20260122_014851.png.acd2f6478f5451b15c516258c3efa78d.png

7. Now head into the settings, and change the working directory to the folder you created earlier. Again, only p3a_archive.exe and the folder(s) containing the mod files should be in this folder.

Spoiler

Screenshot_20260122_020838.png.80131b137bfc5a2debc355be1729c4e1.png

8. Run the process, either within Bottles itself or by double clicking p3a_archive.exe and selecting the bottle. If you're converting multiple mods, the process will convert one mod at a time. You will NOT see a command line or any other window, but the process IS running. BE PATIENT!!!!

9. After a few minutes, the resulting P3A file(s) will appear inside your folder. Copy that(them) to the mods folder in your game directory, and you're all set!

I’m glad you got it working! Using the batch file over the default settings should shave 200 MB off the P3A and reduce load times, so I would try it, even if it takes twice as long to run. (The default settings maximize compatibility so it can be used to mod cold steel. To be fair though, I only bother with mode 3 compression for large mods with lots of files.)

also, I would’ve thought using the Python script instead of the exe would be easier than flatpaks and bottles, but I don’t know much about Linux. But do know that the .exe file is just a packed Python installation, it’s not actually compiled…

Bottles doesn't support batch files, unfortunately. And to be honest I didn't even know you included the EXE in the Kai-to-Horizon set you made, I'll have to amend my post.

The idea just kind of came to me earlier, I was like, I have this thing called Bottles that I already use to manage mods for other games, so I just tried it, not expecting it to actually run. And since more people are considering moving to Linux I thought I'd post how I did it.

As for Linux itself, I'm no expert on it either, but standard Win32 apps won't run as is, so you need to run it in a compatibility later like Wine or Proton (that's how Steam games run on SteamOS). That's what Bottles is for, it basically facilities the compatibility later for something like this. And Flatseal is essentially a permissions manager for apps downloaded through the app store.

I think like .mdl files there is versioning going on during the creation.......
