It's hard to offset nearly 20 years of gaming where communities all over have traditionally shared mods for free. Now people want money for it and not everyone has money to pay for or are smart enough not to waste money on mods. Justifiably people are upset and want mods for free even if they are 'privateered' 'paid' mods. Granted, yes, technically it is against the rules of the site to share pirated content although the moderators have stated that they don't moderate user's private direct messages hence the reason why everyone wants mods 'dm'ed to them'.

I get it's different from the past 20 years, but back then no one saw modding as a means of income, just the same as YouTube channels, whether you were a musician, an animator, or an influencer, none of them were careers, or even side gigs. Things, like the internet as a whole, have clearly evolved.

Most of the previous generation never thought it would happen, but turning a hobby into a career is something most people dream of, and pirating the content of the creators is a hinderance in that regard. Specifically for modders, sharing their paid content around for free only helps spread the word that their content can be pirated, and encourages almost no one to actually support the creator. So, everyone has the mod, and yet the creator is not even slightly better off for all the work they put into it.

Music is different, because it's no longer pirated as much since things like Spotify exist, and most folks could care less about actually owning high-quality audio files or CDs and whatnot. Pirating paid mods is destructive to the community as a whole, seeing as they put all this effort into fine-tuning their work of art, and they thought the quality would justify asking a few bucks for it (ignore the one dude, $100 is beyond outrageous), and yet so many don't wanna pay for the mod either on principle (which is stupid), or claiming to not have the money for it (which is sus since they own the game somehow).

Modders who make paid mods are usually putting a lot of time and effort into their mods, meaning they're treating it like a job, and therefore are putting it as a priority above free time and such, implying they're really hoping to get paid for all that work. Don't get me wrong, I know this isn't true in every case, but who are we to judge them otherwise? If it's high-quality, it might as well be DLC. I mean, come on. Heck, in most cases the paid modders offer support for those having specific and unique issues with the mods, while unpaid modders only really care if it works with the general populous, and have likely moved on to other things.

The other excuse people have for pirating is perhaps because they don't want others to see what they've paid for, likely their significant other, since many couples share a bank account. Pure speculation here, but it's not improbable. In which case, they definitely should be spending their money elsewhere in general.

As for me, I happily support the creators who charge a few bucks for their creations.

Modders = Creators

Creation = Work

This is not that complicated. You either pay for the mod, or maybe you can just go ahead and live without it.

Is that really so hard? Yeah, capitalism sucks, but we're all adults here. Those who keep whining about paid mods are likely still going through puberty anyway.

Respectfully, I have to disagree. Granted, if someone is making a very elaborate outfit from scratch and can prove that none of their work is born from other assets like DAZ models or ripped from the game without significant alterations then, yes, I'll agree they should be paid for their work. However, (and I really don't want to start an argument over this) for simple nude mods or outfits of minimal design, no, I don't think those should be paid for. All too often simple nude mods are just lifted assets from other games or software that modders have taken a minimal amount of time adapting to various games. I don't see creativity there. Not unless they created the body from scratch themselves. Let's not forget, the wildly popular game, Skyrim, or even any of the other Fallout or Elder Scrolls games or any other game out there with a active modding community would be dead and would have been dead shortly after launch and consigned to the annals of history as 'nothing noteworthy' had the modding community not produced so many mods for those games... for free. Not paid, not on commission. Free.

Yes, free mods should be free. Paid mods should be paid.

From my experience, paid modders typically use all new assets to make nude mods. I'm subbed to many on Patreon, and while they use some materials for parts of existing outfits, the newly uncovered skin tends to be completely new. It has to be this way for the models to look seamless.

And whether or not it's original material, it's still hard work. You don't get paid for materials on the internet, you get paid for work, and for content.

Also, just because it's a nude mod doesn't mean it's simple. Simple in design? Sure. Simple in execution and creation? Not always.

Good points here, something I haven't seen mentioned which I think is important to bring up; from what I understand this is an international forum.  $10 USD is obviously not a ton of money if you have a US-based income; but it could be conceivably more in another economy.  Not to give a blank check to piracy, but it's worth keeping different currency values in mind before making the argument that "That mod is the price of a cup of coffee".  As far as I know, there's not regional pricing on a lot of the platforms modders sell there stuff on.  (Maybe there is?)

This debate about paid mods is varied and all,

but can we all agree that paying MORE for a MOD than the price of the game itself is whack?

To clarify: if the game's full price is $60 or $70, a mod shouldn't cost $100. I feel like we can all agree on that, right?

Right. Unless if by some miracle the mod turns it into a full fledged hentai game with hardcore sex scenes. That's the only thing that could make a mod worth more than the game IMO.

drsx elite mods never ever get leaked, the only exception is one time for some re4 mods other than that theres a 0% chance of seeing these mods out in th wild

They get leaked all the time, just not in open communities where 99% of you probably exist because closed communities are really really hard to get into since they have limited registration periods and/or require invitation by a current member.

And they are private exactly for this reason, so creators can't reach them. When leaks do happen, it's ironically almost always from one of these communities, but they are also by nature small and niche. I've gotten unleaked mods before simply by asking, but it was directly given to me it's not just posted on a d/l link anyone could see and thus anyone could report.

It's a lot more tedious and some of them have and do get tangled up in illegal content so you have to be careful, but I promise you nothing is secure once it hits the internet. "never gets leaked" simply means "you don't know where to find the leaks or where ask for them to be leaked."

Regardless, I don't know why you're shocked. Loverslab is big, public, and well-known exactly because it's a super boyscout community. The very idea that any of you are grumbling about this is inherently silly because of that alone, lol.

These poses come from a mod which was removed from Nexus. Does anyone know why Nexus remove UUU4 poses mods? Especially since this mod wasn't suggestive at all, just poses like those found in modeling magazines. I'm really curious to know why they would remove that. Is this due to something specifically related to UUU4 itself?

Thank you. I also saw it in that mod, but it was deleted this afternoon. Maybe it's because of that author? I searched for the keyword "pose", and it seems that several pose mods by another author have not been deleted.

The mod has thankfully been reuploaded on Ayaka.
