I'm honestly not really sure if I want this project to be over. It's been really fun working on and adding sprites to Platinum.

I'll definitely be sticking around through at least Soul Silver after it's done.

Also, the two-week no-submission period was ignored while I was on vacation, so I do not know if that is still in effect.

 

 

While I'm here, I wanted to say that your version still doesn't quite sit right with me. Should the balls be combined into one ballsack, or should there be some sort of separation between them? And should the dick be moved a little lower and to the left?

Honestly I appreciate your sprites, i think they look good. I wouldn't say i did much of...anything to help this project beyond help indentify which sprites arent done so the people on this thread who edit the sprites know at least which sprites need work on that enormous sprite sheet. I do think what Imaynotbehere4long said is a little overboard or should have been worded less harshly.

Anyway, I see where you're coming from about the separation, but even with this sprite, I don't think there's enough pixels/palette slots to provide a realistic, subtle one. The best I've got is this, but it would only be visible if the dick isn't lowered, and it's still a bit too much IMO:

 

 

As for moving the dick down *and left,* I kinda see what you mean, but doing only that throws off the alignment of everything around there and makes the dick look off-center the other way, so I had to redraw a few things:

I think this would be the second time that this person has been rude and caused someone to leave the project. They were also the one who caused the person who made the original hiker sprite to pull all their sprites from the game because they edited their sprites without asking first. While I admit that that whole scenario was a fiasco (why would they add heir sprites to a collaborative project if they didn't want them to be collaborated on?), imaynotbehere4long was involved.

 

And to not even apologize in their next message and ignore your comment completely? Dude, that's not cool. You sounded way ruder than you probably meant to, @Imaynotbehere4long.

 

How it should work around here is: "Hey, I think Looker could have some more improvements, think we could add a pink background to him? I feel like I could improve his dick."

That's how it has worked for the entire project!!!!

It is a fact that some sprites are better than others, but we should NEVER say the sprites look bad. Because none are bad. Some just need improvements, which others are happy to provide. Every single sprite I've seen takes a lot of effort, and that effort should not be ignored, even if the sprite ends up heavily edited in the future, like what's happened with Cynthia's sprite.

 

I'm so, so sorry that @Imaynotbehere4long insulted your work. You do not deserve that. You have carried the latter half of this project on your back and without you, I probably would have had to stop the project at the women-only section, since men are both harder to sprite for and there are less people interested in male sprite edits. I really appreciate you from the bottom of my heart. You're one of the best spriters I have. Please don't leave. While it is technically true that anyone can make a nude sprite edit, yours are really high quality. It takes work and skill to be as good as you at this. I could never. I'll always accept your sprites into the project.

 

And for the record, though I agree that the dick could be improved, I liked the legs on your Looker. I think they look better than @Imaynotbehere4long's skinnier legs for Looker. And I would never call the rest of your sprite bad. I quite like what you did with Looker's pecs. And the rest of the sprites this submission look great! Professor Rowan looks honestly really natural nude, like that was how he was meant to be!

 

I'm sorry for the long message. I just really do not like my friends on this project fighting with each other. I care about you guys, and have to put my foot down as manager when people are being mean to each other.

 

If it would be easier for you, @iamnthan, you can choose to just dm the sprites to me on discord or loverslab dms from now on, and then I'll add them, so you don't have to risk people calling your amazing sprites bad. How imaynotbehere4long responded is just not right, and I do NOT condone that kind of behavior here. I am so sorry they ruined your enthusiasm for making your amazing sprites. I'm not supposed to have favorites, but you and Mr. Downbad are my favorite spriters. I adore your work, and you've added so much to this project.

@iamnthan I do appreciate your work. You've been contributing way more than I have. The only thing I've done is some pkaytesting and offering my opinion on a few things. I wish I had the skills to edit sprites like you do. And for the record, I didn't really notice anything wrong with your Looker (or other sprites) edit. Although, admittedly, as soon as I saw that other guy's harsh comments, I immediately trouble was about to strike, but I didn't say anything, partially cuz i didn't wanna get dragging into anything, but also, cuz I've been mostly just quietly lurking in here a lot, lately. But I probably should have spoken up before everything exploded. I actually have that problem a lot of not speaking up until it's too late. As artists, it's okay to give critiques. However, this reads more as hate. Anyone here can give hate, and the reason we haven't is because we want our artists to feel welcome and appreciated.

I agree with what Viewier had to say about this, and don't have much to add. We all care for your sprites. If you'd still like to help, you can always submit sprites to me or Viewier privately. Huh. I thought for sure that Cyrus's overworld sprites were added, since iamnthan included them in the most recent upload.

I'll go back in and fix that after iamnthan adds their final sprites.

They said "I am still working on the remaining Platinum overworld sprites and I will drop them as soon as I completed them."

I'm really sad that they're leaving. I'm honored that they're still going to give us the final sprites, to fully complete Platinude. It's more than we deserve.

I really hope they stay with us, but if they decide to leave and join another project, I wish them the best.

They did not deserve that comment to be made about their honestly top tier work.

So, it turns out that Tinke updated from 0.9.0 to 0.9.2, so I needed to download the new one in order for the BTX files to actually be added.

Now that that's out of the way, the new overworld sprites are here in Platinude Version 7-3-2!!

7-3-1 only added the intro sprites with Looker and the Plasma scientist, apparently.

I hope iamnthan enjoys working on the final sprites. I'm really glad they've contributed so much toward this little au project.

I honestly want to know what you were thinking when you sent this message. Did you mean it to sound so... hateful? This comes off really mean. Was that your intent?

You artists are supposed to be teammates, not rivals.

I would not say that any sprites that have been submitted in this thread or in the previous one were bad. Imperfect, yes, but not bad.

The only one that even comes close is the original dragon tamer sprite, which just felt like the artist was phoning it in, but I still wouldn't call it bad.

When you put a lot of effort into a sprite, it really shows.

Every artist has a different niche and different parts they're weaker at, whether that be necks, genitals, arms, legs, torsos, or whatever else is on a sprite.

That's why this project is collaborative. People can cover the weaknesses of others.

That's basically what everyone has been doing the whole time, in parts. 

You just kinda change the sprite to make it look like something else while keeping the same size and dimensions and stuff.

If that means going exactly along the lines of the clothing but texturing it a little differently to show that it's skin, that's totally fine! As long as it looks good at the end of the day.

I have even been suggesting that people stick as close to the sprite as possible, preferring the same pose, boob size, and height.

Some arms and legs are thin enough that sticking close to the original model is the only option.

And there's only so much detail you can put on genitals. Dicks are really really hard to draw right this small.

And this goes double for the overworld sprites. They're so small that sometimes nude-print clothes is the only way you can do it. Like, for this last update, I changed the baby in the stroller from wearing a red shirt to wearing a shirt the same color as their skin. How else was I supposed to do it? The shirt was literally two pixels.

Oh wow, criticism of something is good because nothing is perfect and that makes you look at your mistakes and improve but I think he went a little too far, I'm not saying he meant to sound cruel because I wasn't the one who wrote it xd, but I do think he could have said it in another way

 

But even if that sprite isn't the best or isn't finished yet, you have to accept that at least I'm publishing it. I mean, apart from the excessive work, I don't publish so many sprites or mods because I'm not happy with them, which can be counterproductive, or I think it was. I don't know, I feel tired because of the sun that gets hotter every day and the work.
