It turns out that the reason that the original Moemon thread was deleted because the official Moemon team reached out to the moderators of Loverslab and asked them to remove the thread because the people on the Moemon team do not want their sprites to be edited without permission or in sexual situations, which includes nudity. While I'd disagree on that second point (nudity is not inherently sexual if you ask me), not wanting sprites edited without permission is completely understandable. It's their work, and editing it without their consent is wrong. I am so sorry I did not realize that the project was operating without permission from the Moemon team. I respect their wishes.

The @reporting account reached out to me and told me to delete the thread, so I did.

I love the Moemon Project dearly, and I am sad that it had to end this way, but I fully respect their decision to shut everything down.

So, I will ask people to not create another Moemon thread and leave the Moemon unedited, to respect the wishes of the official Moemon team.

It's a good thing you saved the two patches that were made in time; I'm going to keep both of them as keepsakes, haha.

I did technically personally back up all images and patches from on there, in hopes that someday the project could continue, once someone actually asks for permission.

Though I will not be sharing because that feels like it's against the Moemon Official Project's current wishes.

It's unfortunate to hear, but it's best to respect the creators of the Moemon project decision to not want their work to be edited and in that way. Seems that the nude Moemon project will probably never come to be as even if someone did ask for permission, they won't allow it as they don't want their work to be sexualize. The nude Moemon rom I made had some errors with a couple of sprites and was thinking about going back and fix them, and maybe rebalance the story and some Pokemon, but I will let that go.

 

I think I will put my focus on making a hard mode of Pokemon games instead, and maybe a hard mode rom hack of a nude Pokemon mod, that's if Viewier and other people of the nude Pokemon projects are okay with that.

Honestly, I welcome it!

Adding new fights, added difficulty, and different encounters to nude mods helps them feel like unique experiences instead of just fresh coats of paint.

idc if they have pubs or not but will there be a toggle in the settings or something for if you want characters to have pubs or not well for the ones that do have pubs, like im sure the male big hiker dude would have it or any construction worker id assume. merely a curiosity

i don't think there will be a separate patch this time. It's a lot of extra work.

This project is open to the community, even if me, @personmcguy, and @Mx. Downbad are the main people in charge.

There are only so many people active because not much are both interested in Pokemon games and stripping humans nude ingame. There were some more who contributed to past project(s) but stopped drawing at some point for various reasons. This was especially true in first DP patches.

I would know, I was one of them.

Oh boy do I remember. Platinude had like 20 contributors. 😭 It felt like every two weeks the artists changed.

Aside from Black/White (2) the team is currently doing, Gen 1 games technically aren't done. Catnatic does have player nude mod but other people in the game stays clothed since the main focus was Pokemon themselves. Gen 2 games could be done thanks to outsourcing sprite injections into them so there's a possibility? I guess

Now if we were to factor spin-off games in, there aren't that interesting of a pick given most of these are either only Pokemon are the main focus (Mystery dungeon, Pinball, Trozei/Shuffle...), or there's barely any gameplay (Ranch). I think Pokemon Ranger has a chance to be discussed here, there's also Conquest but it's more of a Samurai Warriors game in terms of human characters.

Whatever happened between these two sites, they don't seem to be in good terms. Both sides do state this rebuilt version of the game is github side's property. So if anything, the project from github seems to be the one that's original.
Voxelmod one appears to be taken from apparently defunct project which is now preserved in here, according to .com side.

Also .com one had a lot of useless ads, I wouldn't trust this site too much

Always stick with the original source of a project, which in this case is on GitHub.

The recomp isn't quite a recompilation though (not the same way with the N64 recomps), it's just a port of the game's assets to LOVE2D engine.

That voxel mod is also vibe-coded and when you have a 'programmer' that doesn't even know their own code, that's going to be a problem in regards to bugfixing.

(And also, while the mod looks sorta cool, it's not particularly impressive honestly if AI did the majority of the work instead of a talented programmer.

Meanwhile, the recomp itself is only AI-assisted which there's a difference compared to vibe coding.)

question is the only problem that they don't want using their sprites for nudity cause if that's the case would it be perfectly fine to make our own sprites with different designs from them (mostly just asking cause i do kinda wanna make new sprite designs if that's the case to get into sprite making but i don't wanna start anything and then be told none of them can be used )
