Given that Sony is shafting anyone not in their walled-garden, and as it turns out those IN their walled-garden too, but there is a very real possibility that Horizon 3 won't be coming to PC...

so i take it the fact remastered has no mods it's best to stay on the 2020/gog complete edition version for this game?

 

also for future reference though i prob won't be playing it for a year or two - how good would you guys say is forbidden west mod support?

JohnnyDazzling started to dabble with mods but they live in an area that's under bombardment from Russia and haven't posted in over a a few weeks now so who knows if they're even okay or will continue modding at this point

Yeah, most likely Horizon 3 won't be on PC. Given the circumstances - I think the game will be a cross-gen title for PS5/PS6 - or maybe studio will be closed before release 🫠 who knows? No studio is safe nowadays. Looks like good annual reports are more important than whole PlayStation brand health in five to ten years.

The only small chance for Horizon 3 PC release maybe - if new Sony strategy fails and sales number of new first party exclusives will be unsustainable - much lower than even in PS4 gen - this way they'll be forced to find more sales on PC once again. I think it's not impossible - especially If PS6 will be 1000$ or more.

They should not have strayed so far in art style with the spin-off title. I imagine it was likely by Sony's request also the game type sounds too similar to nightreign. That Korean dev spin-off is way more interesting. Guerilla should've just focused on Horizon 3 instead while having multiplayer studios send RFPs for spin-off live service projects. Why make your studio build something it is not used to or have a desire to make? 😑

Yeah, I was also dumbfounded by this decision. Sony, you've already partnered up with korean studio to make Horizon live service game - why the fuck did you need second Horizon live service from main studio? Just let them finish the trilogy! If Horizon Steel Frontiers proof to be successful on PC - just release it on consoles too - you don't need separate game for that 🙃

The best way to create this addition - is to add optional normal map textures with enhanced muscles to "Vanilla" body type. Same way as I did with Lara.

In HFW we have a problem with that - default skin shader is blending tiled skin surface normal maps on top of main body normal maps, but blend is heavily skewed in favor of skin surface map.  75% visibility to skin detail - 25% to main normal map. No matter what I've tried - I wasn't able to change blend behavior and make muscles "pop" - changes are barely visible.

So, only way to fulfill your request (with my current HFW knowledge) is to add extra body type (new body model) to the mod - but I don't want to increase number of available body types as I've explained before.
