Is there no current guide for the GOTY version?

Hello everyone.

 

I recently bought Oblivion and wanted to mod it now.
However, all the tutorials are very old and whether they work with the GOTY version is questionable.
I also find these tutorials a bit opaque.
What do you need to have Pregnancy and Rape in the game?

So the mods that are a prerequisite.
In general, a basic tutorial with all basic / core mods would not be bad.
Everything you find on the web is old and not really understandable.
And I am not a modding beginner!
I have a Fallout 4 with 272 mods and it runs smoothly, no crashes.
Only Oblivion has me stumped.

 

Maybe someone has such a guide for Oblivion at hand 🙂

Any guides you find are old because the game is old.  If the game has had no recent updates from Bethesda, what do you expect to be different or not up-to-date in the guides?

I don't have a GOTY version ( have the old disc version )

But what is the difference? You have the ShiveringIsle Version and the other dlc you can add or ignore. ( So the same  I have )

You have a Oblivion/data folder.  Some tools in the Oblivion folder. All mods in the data folder.  I think nothing has changed since 2006.

At the LAPF download page also install instructions.

 

And the warning: Do not install all at once. There are many ini files and in game settings and spells. Install LAPF and one Mod and then test and do all settings. When you know how it works install the next Mods and test and see how the game has changed.

If you install everything at once and you don't like something, you don't know if it was like that in the base game, whether it can be changed with settings (and which settings? ini file or in game? ) or whether it's caused by a mod that has no settings at all...

Yes, over the years I have seen many people who wanted everything at once. They had played Skyrim or Fallout and now wanted everything they had there in Oblivion. "I want it all, I want it now! "    They haven't even tested the base game. ( You know how to install a game )   " I don't need readmes, I have a lot of mods installed. I immediately install all the mods I want. "   And then they post "What is causing this error?  "     And you ask which mod they installed before the error occurred... and then you find out they have 20 Lovers Mods and 30 others installed and are now testing the game for the first time.

This was already the case in 2014 when I started the install thread (out of desperation) , and it hasn't gotten any better.

 

There are other installation threads with massive changes and "improvements" to the game with high res textures, landscape, combat and NPC overhauls . . .  But everyone likes something different, and that's not why I wrote my thread. It's for the base Mods to play Obivion and  then Lovers/LAPF.

 

Even 15-year-old guides are still useful. Some tools are still the same, and good mods have always been around. A few new tools for stability and multi core CPU usage have been added.

Heres a link for doing the LOD for Oblivion. This guide is pretty well done. The same author also made one for installing TWMP. TWMP mods are basically the lands outside Cyrodiil. The Skyrim part of it is active lately with quests.
