[mod] [mod] Daughters of Lust - updated

I'm not sure if it's intended behaviour, general Crusader Kings wackiness or a bug of some kind, but I just had a real WTF moment playing with this mod:

As a secret succubus, I was slowly building up my power, I'd progressed from count to duke to queen, I'd just started the process of making my daughters vassals and then converting them into secret succubi too, and then my 2nd daughter suddenly decided to blackmail me about me being a succubus - which of course she only knew because I just made her one too....

So obviously I just said sod off and revealed her secret the instant she revealed mine, and then stopped providing her with any help because she's a moron!  I'm probably powerful enough already that it's not a complete disaster, but it has rather ruined the whole secret network of succubi running everything thing that I was going for!

To make it worse, this particular daughter was already given 2 counties, 1 dukedom, some funds to get started, and a couple of artifacts, and her opinion of me is still +100 even after revealing her secret, so it's really a mystifying "what exactly were you trying to achieve here?" moment all around!

Is it intended for reformed creitem lennan to not be able to restore holy sites?
Because the decision doesn't show up.

Unless you are 1. an adult and 2. correct faith I'm not sure why it shouldn't show up.

Either that, or you're playing with the Total Conversion version, where some content are not available because they straight up do not make sense outside of Earth.

Not playing with any total conversion/other world, also placed at the end of the load order.

That's strange - the Leananist holy site restoration decision only have very nominal restrictions to show up (as I described above). But you did describe that Creitem Lennan is reformed in your case, which I think could be the problem here - the code specifically checks for "faith = faith:cdol_leannanic" so I imagine what happened is that reforming changes the faith id into something else, which renders it invalid.

I'll give it a look to see if I can confirm that to be the issue.

Can confirm this is indeed the case - this trigger is invalid if you reform the faith, as the game considers it to not be the same as the original one being checked. This also does mean the Consecrate Shambhala Gates decision are also kind of broken in the same manner (as in it would be invalid if you create a new faith from Lilityadharma, but then again I suppose it doesn't matter much since Lilityadharma is already reformed).

A fix will be included in the next major update. Thanks for your report.

Is it possible to make the Succubus secret completely depend on the suspicion system and independent of the vanilla secret system?

Being reveled completely randomly at the lowest suspicion level isn't very fun.

Custom blackmail events involving sex would also fit the theme.

I'm not entirely a fan of just ignoring vanilla mechanics whenever possible, so it's not something I would put on top of the list of priorities. Besides, "suspicion" represents general sentiment around you - I don't see how one specific person learning of the secret can't just use it to their advantage.

As for blackmail events involving sex, there is such an event at a certain level of suspicion (the first level, if I recall correctly). It qualifies as dubcon though so if you don't change that gamerule in Carnalitas you'd never see it.

Hello. Is there a mechanic in this mod that increases body proportions based on succubus level? Something like the Interracial takeover mod.

No.

Are the old Reclaim Eden and Babylon gone from the mod?

Should still be there unless you're playing the total conversion version (which stripped out decisions that only made sense for a vanilla earth) or accidentally toggled the total conversion world setting gamerule while playing normal ck3

While I am busy untangling myself from the newfangled horse girl racing game, enjoy another teaser:

Aside from said newfangled horse girl racing game, the next update will come after July 6 due to some personal circumstances.

is there a way to have travel events disabled. They fire way too often and they dont even make sense for some playstyles. for example i keep getting hungry succubus event while being a succubus myself.

Not for now - unless you go into the mod files and comment out the relevant on action yourself.

There are some once-per-life actions such as resetting capitals in the game. Maybe it would be better if succubi can ignore such limitations.

That was actually suggested in the form and I did write down that I will do it at some point, but it seems like it fell between the cracks at some point while I was working on other features. Thanks for reminding me!

While I keep you waiting, here's another teaser featuring certain adaptive localisation if you are of certain faiths/religions for the Pantheon.

Has this changed? I know last year there wasn't but hoping that has changed now lol

No, I'm afraid there are no plans for incubi.

Theoretically you can go into the code and comment out the female-specific checks if that's the experience you're looking for but it's not something I'm going to officially support.

Thanks, I would completely mess that up. I'll just keep dreaming lmfao!!!

A few things:

ls it possible to throttle the frequency of the 'lock of hair' event, and stop it from auto-equipping the artifact? The event fires with ever increasing frequency as play goes on, especially once the player has firmly entrenched themselves as an open succubus ruler. By late game, I was getting 3-4 of these a year, and the process of cleaning these out of my inventory as well as constantly pausing to re-equip my other better items was getting tedious. The value of the items is also an issue. One lock of hair is fine, but I was getting so many each year that it was rivaling my monthly income to destroy them.

--

Succubi still die of old age, even though the tooltip on the trait says they can't. I understand that they can still suffer from poor health and eventually die as a result of becoming infirm, etc. but seeing their death event say "old age" is a real eyebrow-raiser.  Perhaps really old Succubi who die could use the "returned to the Autervelt" death event instead?

---

The autervelt doesn't seem like it can be turned entirely off. In my first playthrough, I left it on. It worked, but i eventually got tired of the semi-random barrage of increasingly ineffectual punitive expeditions from halfway across the world that were largely just an annoyance by mid-game.

In the second playthrough, I turned it off. The button on the left side of the screen was gone, but all of the right click menu options were still available. I could still do all of the tribute-type interactions, and some of the requests via that menu. But nothing else. And the punitive expeditions still kept firing. I wasn't sure if they were firing because of the autervelt attempting to punish my succubi vassals, or if it was a bug.

In my third playthrough, I left it on but pledged tributary status. This stopped the punitive expeditions (they still started, but immediately ended). This module felt really well balanced at about the point where I was a low-end king or powerful duke. And fell off in challenge and rose extremely in irritation value as my MAA got good enough. This mechanic feels like it's perfect for a nomad-style revamp that can give the expedition some teeth without just flinging ineffectual 12k armies at the player from halfway across the world.

As an aside to the above, I think it would be cool to be able to take a decision to invade the Autervelt as a Kingdom or Empire tier ruler, and conquer it from without.

---

Is it possible to make a game rule for Cambions that turns off the negative trait mechanics? My argument for this is that while the mechanic is intended to be used to corrupt dynasties, it ends up just shotgunning ugly trait people into the world. It is difficult to control, and especially problematic in the wake of things like Grand Debauches (or just going through my prison sucking the life out of the unfortunate souls who ended up in my dungeon), with random cambion children popping out of courtiers, prisoners, slaves.

Or an alternative: make it so that the mechanic works similarly to Immaculate Conception, but the pregnancy results in a Cambion. Call it an Infernal or Corrupted Conception. It would be a deliberate act, in keeping with the concept of the mechanic.

--

Finally, every time the AI would attempt to Immaculate Conception my character (often one of my own dynasty), it would fail. My character would be pregnant, but at the end of the pregnancy no child would result. I thought at first that the AI was taking the decision to claim the child as theirs and that it doesn't tell the player in that case, but after checking the AI character that attempted the conception, there was no new child. Is this intended behavior, a bug, or just a limitation in the system?
