Need help with Skyrim SE mods.

Hello, I'm appealing for your help, it's been three times that I try to mod Skyrim SE and I can't do it, I end up with a lot of conflicts and redundancies and I'm lost, this game is difficult to set up for mods and requires me to choose a lot of options when installing with Vortex.

What do you recommend to get the best experience with adult mods?
In what order should I install them?
I'm going to give up on Vortex because it's a boring as a manager.
Which skin to use (the best and most used by mods).
Thank you for taking the time to help a noob like me.

Reading descriptions and a step by step guide available all around the internet

You are unable to mod the game with one of the easiest to learn managers and give it up because it is "boring"?

You have to learn how your manager works. But a lot of people say the got better luck with Mo2 so maybe that's the one for you too.

there is no easy fast to follow way to mod this game. Asking for a list of mods or reccomendations will not help you and there are a LOT of Mods to install so nobody got time to list them all one by one. Look up a guide and do what it says, there are a lot of video guides on youtube if you can't do it with a written one

Honestly, you might be better off using Wabbajack, modlist or some such.

Its unlikely that you will find MO2 more entertaining than Vortex, it sure as hell less user friendly, and doing your own build manually requires alot of reading and patience.

Mind you there is no support for premade mod lists, they are provided as is and people will burn you on a stake if you start asking questions about those here,

But its either that, or every time you see an option in FOMOD installer, you have to go and read about it. Every time you install something, you have to read the modpage. Entirely. And undestand what you've read. Probably several other pages, too, as said mod will have a legnthy list of requirements that will initially be just as obscure to you.

And LL mods tend to be on the more fiddly side, with extra long requirements lists and essentiall patches and tweaks scattered among a support threat or several.

Consider if you're willing to invest the time of doing it. It will take tens of hours even for fairly basic build, probably double or triple that for your first one.

There are exceptional things you can get from modding Skyrim, but those videos of you see of "Ultra modded" Skyrim are usually a result of hundreds of hours of work, something that is simply not possible unless you enjoy the process itself.

Hello Devocros O/ Welcome to the modding madness that is SSE. :) Starting out, it can certainly be daunting; the amount of sheer mods often drives new users to download every cool-looking mod they see however this often results in crashes/errors when they realise certain mods have dependancies and/or conflicts with other mods. As you mod more & more; you will gradually begin to understand the nuances of modding Skyrim and what file types do what.

The best advice I can give to a beginner is to read. That's right. Read. Read the mod descriptions fully, read any bug reports, read the first few pages of the comments, etc. From reading the information from a mod's page; you can often discern whether any other mods are required to run it, whether it conflicts with any other specific mods and whether there's any stability issues or bugs with it. I highly recommend checking out Youtube for beginner's Skyrim mod-list tutorials as you'll be able to follow the guides there, step-by-step; which will grow your knowledge base (and confidence) when you start to experiment with other mods too.

Depends what you're into. If you're into more consensual, vanilla-esque humanoid-humanoid relations; Ostim is the framework of choice. If you're humanoids as well as the more exotic stuff like creatures, non-con, etc; then you'll probably after the Sexlab framework. Like any other mod you install; read the requirements, description & file names carefully. In the case of Ostim & Sexlab; install guides for both are pretty well documented & are a mere Google search away.

From my understanding; Vortex is generally considered to be the more new user-friendly choice. As you're just starting out; your mod-list is probably going to be small'ish so Vortex should do for now. Personally, I've always used Mod Organiser 2 - Its less user-friendly than Vortex but I find the GUI a lot easier on the eyes and as a result; its far easier to see mods/conflicts/etc. If you plan on building a big mod-list then MO2 is, IMO; the mod organiser of choice. The great thing about the mod organisers is that they're both covered in many Youtube tutorials so whichever one you decide to use; there will be tutorials available for it.

Skin? Character skins I'm assuming? IMO, beginners can't go wrong with the BnP (male/female) skins as it offers quite a few options & is available for both CBBE/UNP uv-based bodies (there's many other bodies available too but I'd recommend you learn the basics first before you include physic-enabled bodies in your mod-list). Fairskin (available for both CBBE/UNP uv-based bodies as well) is another popular skin. At the end of the day; as long as the skin that you like is compatible with your body of choice; that's the best skin. >_<

---

Patience, perseverance & lots of research... And then one day you'll end up like the rest of us, 1000+ mods & seemingly forever adding to it. >_< Good luck.

Make sure that all other mods are installed and tested before going to the Adult mods.

SKSE, Skeleton, Bodyslide, ENB, Environment, Armor Meshes and Textures, Racemenu and so on.

Sexlab mods are script heavy. So I would definitely wait with those.

Test, Test and Test some more. Backup, Backup and Backup some more.

It took me 10 years to perfect Skyrim. If You want it done in a week then use Wabbajack or other mod collections.

But then You will be in major trouble every time a mod updates.

Install DynDoLod last for a perfect result.

I dropped Skyrim SE/AE myself. There were so many compatibility patches that needed to be installed that I went crazy.
