Female-oriented and male oriented are possible, but can you DO that, requiring a trait to rule?  I haven't seen such as possible.

Since it's a genetic trait you can prune every house that isn't filled with gardevoirs from power, only land gardevoirs (which will probably just be your children) stuff like that. Since you'll have so many gardevoirs the trait will at least become rather common at a certain point so you can ignore humans.

Are you responding to something? Your sentence sounds like you are but I am not aware of what you are talking about.

Small Update

  • NEW Hedgehog species events when travelling. Collect gemstones for stat bonuses.
    • If you gather 7 Gem Stons you will unlock a decision to get some wealth or a power boost
  • Added some more portraits to the existing species
  • Wumpa gardens buildings are truely bandicoot only this time, they no longer appear everywhere
    • New event when a wumpa guarden is finished
  • Added an additional Voirian Futa event

**NOTE: For hedgehogs who chose to get powered up, there was supposed to be new portraits. I tried to get them to switch, but they showed up blank. I left the code commeted if anyone wants to take a look and see if they can fix it.

Someday I hope we can turn on and off separate species.

That can probably be done. What has been the issue?

Hi There,

I'm not sure if this has been discussed before, but I'm having issues with the 3D model clashing (usually a de-textured 3D model overlaying the 2D one, or the 3D model "exploding" all over the portrait or in the court interface) with the 2D portraits provided by Phaze's mods. Is there any way to prevent this clashing? I am running the game with CBO and CBO Animations as well as with console enabled if that helps.

CBO and CBO Animations

CBO animations I cannot help you with. If you just use CBO, apparently placing my mods above it helps stop that. The issue is CBO adds new genes that coflict with thr 2D ones. So try turning off animation+ and changing the load order to see if that helps.

Good options to add would be the following:

Option to turn off Individual races.
Options for how many people the trait is applied to. I.e (100% of the world has one of the traits/75%... etc)
Options for Only applying to Females/Males

Those are the options I would like so far, but other than that good work, and thanks for the mod.

I will see what I can do, although I don't see the point of the gender option?

I don't know, some times I don't really want it to apply to the males, and I just want the new female images and content. Or other times the opposite. Mainly I kinda want it so I can spawn in a fractured Mongolia as the sole bunny male, and try to out breed the world, vs only human males, and the extra female races.

Interesting concept. Just so you know, the Mother's species takes priority. So your bunny would only have rabbit kids if the Mother was Human.

Good to know for the run, I'll have to find a way to ensure that any of the human kids I get turn into knights, so they have a 90% chance of dying before 23.

So I just read your Ko-fi post, and one of the thing that surprised me is that you said the species mod is the least popular.

I mean, it probably is, but it makes sense because it's the least developed of the 3.
Milfy got entire story-lines, a ton of perks and events, Futa also has tons of event and crazy enclave interaction, especially the invasion !

For now, Species mod is "just" 5 species that have a bit on content each.
- The Voirians are a good scaling specie with long lives, lifestyles bonuses and specialized in schemes at the cost of stress. They have a few repeatable event. (probably the best one)
- The bunnies are heavily scheme sided, with MAAs and a few events too

- The Bandicoots males are warriors and females are wise, unique building (that you sadly get rid of pretty fast)
- The Hedgehogs are another warrior specie with a few traveling events
- and the Lunar Wolves are good warriors and... that's it.

My point is, while it's a good thing that the species don't Define your character, they could really use a bit more. All of them are unique in their own way, but they lack diversity, there is 2 Scheme species, and 3 warrior species (maybe the female bandicoots can be slightly more learning sided ?). There's no species that specialize into religion (or faith), culture (or fame), domain control/development (or gold)...

Don't get me wrong, I love the mod, especially the portraits, but in my opinion, the species should be fleshed out a bit and have different specializations from one-another instead of being either War or Schemes. Thematically, giving an attribute to each one fits pretty well : Voirians Diplomacy - Bunnies Schemes - Bandicoots Stewards Hedgehogs Martials and Lunar wolves Learning. Although that could force them in boxes and limit their options if they are too specialized ?

This mod has so much potential, and I'm happy you have lots of ideas for it. It would be great if it was developed further.
Anyway, a bit lengthy, but thanks for the mods.

Thanks for the Mod Review!
Lots of lessons have been learned with this mod and I am sure I will keep learning as it continues. The Lunar Wolves lack of content is because I planned a rather ambitious "Wolf Pack" system, but due to that ambition it hasn't happened yet!
I do want the species to remain light-ish, at least in this version of things anyway, but I will try and give them some boosts.

I liked your mod, even though I am not a fan of the characters, I am definitely interested in species modding, supposedly when the next patch drops a lot of support for species/portrait modding in 2d will be coming, I took a shot at using your file structure to insert my own ai genned images into the game but didn't have any luck getting my portraits to show up since I guess I missed something in the text files to make it work idk as I am just messing around for personal use but congrats on getting 2d portraits to show up in game.

The Paradox update is more specificially geared twards 3D modding and allow CK3 to natively recognise multiple species instead of everything always being a Human. It might also allow for 2D portrait improvments if it is open enough, but yeah just to clarify they are work on back end code + 3D.

There is some portraits that I like a lot more than others, and some that I don't like, can I just delete some of them in the folder or would it mess up the files ?
is there a way to skew the portraits chance in some way ?

If you do that, characters will start showing up as invisible. If you have better barbershop and the character is either one of yours or is unlanded, you can change their image.
Aside from that, the point of having so many images is so that there is a wide variety of looks, and just like in real life you will not appreciate them all equally.

If you want to apply the trait to more people you can in the mod's folder : common/traits open the file, find the one relevant to the race you prefer, look for the "random_creation = 2" line and replace the "2" by any number between "1" and "100". Hope that helps 😊

I'm not sure why this happens, but it seems like this mod is causing most poses for humans to default to the dead pose both in the barbershop and when generated for an event.

This is when you have a mod conflict like I mention on the mod page. When multiple mods change the same files the load order can become hard to manage. Try changing the order of relavent mods, but most likely they are not all going to work at the same time.
