Anyone had any issues with WWMI today? It auto-updated this morning and I'm suddenly getting crashes when trying to load into the game past the title screen

I got it to work once, but I'm curious if anyone experienced this and if maybe it's possible or recommended to roll back the XXMI version for now?

This is the first time I've ever had a crash without an error, and the game also didn't fully close even after I got it to work, since it was still running when I tried to log back in

Nope, it's NVidia
Everything's been working fine until today.

I just tried to log on again and it only half-loaded geometry and I got a black screen when trying to go to the Resonator screen

Never seen any of these issues before

The weirdest part is that there's no update listed on the XXMI github, so I don't know why the launcher downloaded something automatically this morning that broke it

Had the same issue, either the game is stuck loading at 80% forever, crashing (UE4 engine crashed) or characters/map textures going invisible. I've tried multiple ways to solve it and so far what worked was deleting everything in WWMI ShaderCache + Rollback Moonholder fix and reapplying the fix on initial broken mods (Do note to not apply the fix on any mods that were released during/after 3.5 as it might cause weird bugs unless they are broken too). I've also tweaked my WWMI settings again and I honestly don't know if that plays a part in everything working but do give it a shot if my first 2 solutions don't work. Final solution and again I don't know if it's just my PC but after deleting RabbitFX before reapplying Moonholder Fix I stopped crashing. There are people who are definitely more knowledgeable then me and might give better solutions but I couldn't find anyone talking about it here plus we lost TSZ so it's harder to find discussions about it.
-EDIT-
If the solution I gave worked and you really want a transparency filter mod you can use the one I've uploaded that I found on GB, for now I'm sticking to this mod since it isn't giving me any issues and my FPS is higher. Do note what worked for me might not work for everyone, I'm not knowledgeable at this and just trial and error my way to a "fix" I've discovered. Sooner or later someone might have a way better solution and till then it's better to just try what I've suggested first, if it doesn't work the best I can suggest is wait for a real expert. I've also added my WWMI settings so feel free to see if this works for you :)

Btw, any news about new safezone?

Same issue here after the update. First time in years I hit update the second I saw it, and the result is marvelous. Even parts of the UI are missing.

Clearing the cache seems to work, though.

Hey, thanks a lot for the response! Yeah, it's exactly as you described. Just made it past the loading screen again, and meshes were fragmented and then completely disappeared (including unmodded enemies and UI elements being invisible)

The weird part is that WWMI ShaderCache is already empty
I've also never used RabbitFX so at least that's not a factor

As far as not applying the fix for mods released after 3.0, I don't think that works anymore since pretty much every single hash changed in v3.5

This is exactly what I'm experiencing

Something about the WWMI mini-update this morning broke everything (even though there's no new version info, so what was that update??)

Hopefully we hear something soon, 'cause I don't know if we can roll back versions since we're supposedly still on the current one

I wonder if installing from the 2.2.1 installer with auto updates off could help

BTW, where did you clear the cache? My WWMI ShaderCache folder is completely empty already

Sorry it was a typo what I meant was don't apply the fix on any mods that were released during/after 3.5, I made that mistake and some of those mods were bugging out like crazy. If the mods released during/after 3.5 are working fine make sure they are out of your mods folder before reapplying the fix. Another solution I might suggest is first when you rollback your fix and reapply it, try it without "Add Derived Hashes" or "Apply Stable Textures", load into the game and see if everything is working, if it's not rollback again and enable "Add Derived Hashes" . Once you apply the fix with "Add Derived Hashes" enabled see if it works this time. For some reason "Apply Stable Textures" with RabbitFX 8.0/8.1 or "Custom RabbitFX 8.1" messes up my mods but that might be because of my WWMI settings, not an expert at this so I just stuck to what actually works for me which is either applying the fix with both option disabled or with Derived Hashes enabled. @IncogACC Definitely can figure out a better solution and shed some light to this issue since they have been helping the most and is by far the most experienced (Pardon the glaze) xD

-EDIT-
If it is already empty you can also check your ShaderFixes folder, both are empty for me.
Also for your question on the Rollback what I did was rollback to a date that is before 3.5 official release that broke all the mods. This is to make sure when I'm applying my fix I'm not stacking fixes to minimize problems. From my experience most of the weird problems stem from having multiple fixes on my mods, so I just rollback EVERYTHING to a date that is before the official 3.5 release date and apply a fresh fix for this --> "Add Derived Hashes" or "Apply Stable Textures" thing I mentioned above ^.

Okay thanks, that makes a lot more sense!
I never use the fixer on mods from 3.5 or later anyway, and I don't use Rabbit

I had been using Add Derived Hashes though...
I'll have to try re-fixing everything without it, and see if any individual mods need it once the game actually works hehe

Just to clarify, you're using the rollback option in Moonholder, right? I've never used that before so I'm just making sure
And you can do your whole mods folder at once? I always did one at a time xD

Yup I'm using Moonholder v3.5.1 , and yea I usually just rollback/apply the fix to my entire character mods folder (already working mods will be placed into a temporary folder until everything is working as it should be), I separated them by Character Mods, UI Mods and NPC Mods to prevent the fix from messing with mods they shouldn't be messing with just in case. There will be a date displayed of when you applied your fix as shown below, when you rollback your mods it will show you the date of the rollback, so I usually just rollback to the point before V3.5 released.

Thanks so much!
I just rolled back everything pre-3.5, re-ran Moonholder on 'em, tweaked my settings, and it works!

I'm glad I manage to help you, but fair warning I do think that invisible bug issue can still happen. After experimenting with my settings and going to different regions I find that Xuanfang Hold is the area that has the highest chance of it happening. Out of 10 times I relog and experimented with that specific area, it has happened twice and it occurs when you swap characters back and forth multiple times or after idling in that area at a random time. I don't know how accurate this information is as it can vary from PC to PC and settings to settings. But as far as I can tell it should work fine if you avoid that area entirely XD.

Okay, I appreciate the heads-up. I'm taking my time so I'm not quite to Mengzhou yet, but I'll keep that in mind

By that point we'll be on 3.6 though, so that issue will probably be replaced with a whole bunch of other ones to iron out hehe

EDIT: I still got a crash while loading in after this, so it's not perfect
Hopefully this issue will be resolved alongside whatever fixes 3.6 needs

Thanks! Do you have more of SlugCats full mods?

There is only 3 mods so far, this one and 2 for skins, but they work only if u purchased skins, they dont change base model of Lynae and Mronye.

Yup unfortunately it can still crash while trying to load into the game sometimes, this is something hopefully will be addressed along with real solutions. Mine unfortunately is just a flimsy band-aid 😭

I stopped playing WuWa because I saw this coming. They announced they were cracking down on modders, and since there were no more fixes for the launcher and such, it was obvious that it would eventually become unplayable with mods XD. They need to find a solution, otherwise every update is going to be a nightmare XD.

This wasn't "Wuwa cracking down on modders" it was the XXMI team pushing an update that wasn't necessary and which obliterated the experience of certain users. I can't say what the technical reason for it is yet, but users who did not update XXMI don't have these issues and can still mod just fine.

dang, glad i resisted my impulse to hit that update when i woke today....😅
