"In Slap's own words, he was the one who caused the Discord to get banned."IMG_20260805_192515.thumb.jpg.e683649b3495f27e995e717590071055.jpg

There's nothing here that confirms Slap was responsible for the server shutdown only banning the individual who was leaking the mods. Let's not spread misinformation, you already got people here getting mad at Slap cause they don't read carefully.

if it actually was slap who got the discord banned it's funny because I avoided his shit like the plague lmfao

Goddamnit, this is why I always had the opinion of "paid mods are the worst idea ever and should never be supported".

How and why is it that seemingly ONLY gacha game modders all suddenly try to sell their mods. No other game franchise does it with this frequency. Skyrim? Minecraft? Stardew Valley? All those games have mods that are 99% free (I'm sure even those games have some paid mods but those are an absolute minority and the majority are completely free). Heck even the goddamn MODDING TOOLS for GI / ZZZ / WuWa are FREE!

Well I know why actually. Because those "modders" in the gacha scene are basically just artists that use the tools that even monkey can use to make their "mods" (it's all just skins anyway), so no coding knowledge required on their part thanks to the mod tool makers. And from personal experience, most artists are nothing but greedy and whiny elitist fucks. I worked with a bunch in the past, and I always had bad experiences. And just seeing as how they sperg out currently due to generative AI is another proof.

EDIT: I should clarify that I have no issues with modders asking for donations, voluntary donations that is, while releasing their mods for free.

I personally actually have donated to a modder through Kofi before too, even though they released them all for free on there, because I liked their mods. But I have never ever paid for paywalled shit because I find that disgusting.

On the other hand, coders? They are used to give out their stuff for free, that's the whole idea behind "open Source" and github etc., so they don't mind releasing their mods for free. And while a bunch of them are currently also annoyed by AI, it's not because they fear replacement, but because a ton of lazy people are coming in, letting AI do all the coding, not checking anything and then submit pull requests, where the maintainers of a project now have to check those for errors etc. If AI didn't still make so many mistakes in coding, there would be no issue at all with coders.

And of course it was one of those lazy-ass fat tits and hips modders that caused the ban...

But wasn't that basically a false DMCA? Because he technically has no real claim since the source material doesn't belong to him either. IIRC due to the nature of how DMCA works, the host has to react and take the target down until it was processed and checked, so that's probably why Discord immediately nuked the server. But maybe there's a chance for it to come back... hopefully. Otherwise we definitely need a new server.

Brother you are clearly an modding newbie look at Street fighter and the worst offender of paid mods Resident Evil some mods there are in the 100's of dollars. Fuck slap never used his mods as they are lazy and shit.

I remember KanouSakura got their account nuked cause someone reported them for modding the game and making a profit (wasn't even that bad and fuck the person that did that). Why not do the same to Slap????? guys is a egregious prick that's trying upcharge people for piss boring Haft naked mods and filing DMCA'S over characters he doesn't own

We got it thesafezone discord is dead. We're all mad, the situation is bad for the modding community and so on...
yet complaining doesn't achieve anything. Best we can do atm, is wait to see if Mugen can do something about getting the discord back.

I see a lot of accusation against Slap, I'm not here to defend him since I don't know if he's responsible or not. The screenshot shared only shows that he banned someone from his patreon, which is true since a saw that very person saying it on thesafezone discord. Yet neither that nor the change in his patreon system is proof to me that he is the one responsible of the discord getting ban.
I personnaly use a few of his mods (all obtained freely, either here or on discord) and like them. This is all a matter of taste. But like I always say, if you don't like something just ignore it, don't spit on your hate on it or the modder. If you're unhappy with the content you're provided , why not make some yourself ? If you don't like a creator's content, just don't support him (you already aren't).
Someone mentionned getting is Patreon ban, it's not a good idea attacking a modder of a game as it could have repercussions on all the others. Among the modders are great people as well as shitty ones, like in every community.

This thread is for sharing mods, please let it be that, and not become a place to flood with anger and rage. It's not helping in any way. Modders burn out is a real thing and seeing your work made and shared freely for everyone to use get drawn in pointless messages is a gateway to that.

I know this message will be pointless, as people asking the same question about the discord getting banned while the answer to the question is written in all the previous messages will keep posting without reading...

"im not gonna defend him" proceeds to defend him.
His mods are generic low effort copy pastes, and now he's making people jump through loops to get them and give up personal information. At this point even IF it wasn't him, there is no justifying requiring someone to give up personal information for a shitty mod, when there are plenty of free mods of similar quality on GB.

I just said, there is not enough evidence atm in my eyes to take a stance about if he is the culprit or not. I don't condone what happened, who ever did it. I'm not for paying mods either.
My message was, don't take actions out of spite which can have unplanned consequences, you might regret later.
I'm not gonna argue more about that. It's pointless.

Then they start promoting themselves on GameBanana by posting limited mods and promoting their Patreon. Thankfully, GameBanana's moderation has been putting a stop to these practices. For me, the world of modding has always been by and for the community of that game, but in recent years, for these modders, it seems to have become their job and a way to earn money.

The only Mods I've felt that are definitely worth paying for were KanouSakura's. No offence to the other authors, but KS's mods were incredible. :(

legality regarding modding is still pretty grey

selling mod is illegal because the copyright of the asset belong to the company so you're monetizing an asset that isn't yours even if you have "transform" it. But from what i see, a lot of mod author on GB don't sell mod, they sell early access to the mods as the mod become free after 1 month. so i guess they dodged that legal loophole.

but still, i don't hate people selling early access to their mods tbh. don't like it either.

fk the people that paid wall mod and SLAPS tho.

Exactly, and that's a problem imo. Modding should never be a viable career path. Instead, it should either be done out of passion for a game, or to as a stepping stone to learn some skills and then go and apply to companies and dev studios to work on games proper. Basically how it was in the past... lots of modders back then, before this paywalling epidemic, used modding to learn coding or 3D art and then went on to get jobs in the games industry, which is awesome I think.

But these "modders" have now become leeches that attach themselves to an existing game or franchise, making money with other people's base work. I wouldn't be surprised if at some point some companies will strike an unofficial modding scene real hard because of it (and afaik Hoyoverse is already going after modders. Wasn't KanouSakura also hit by a lawsuit? Kinda deserved tbh since they sell mods but... well ideally it doesn't need to happen in the first place)

Yeah, nice loophole, except more and more "modders" ignore that rule that had been established by the AGMG server in the past.

Now they just make two versions or more, one basic, SFW one on GB with maybe some dumb like goals to unlock one additional toggle, and then a "full version" on their paywalled platform. And the "one month" unlock never happens. That is especially true for chinese modders btw. Like LXL, KanouSakura, etc, but even some western ones don't care anymore.

Just go to GB and look at a bunch of the most popular creators and count how many actually do the full unlock after a month. It's not a lot anymore.

At this point I'm gonna try report SLAP to KURO...
If CAPCOM can do that to Modder, imagine for Chinese Developer do that...
He think he's good in the game since it's Chinese Developer...
Remember, WUWA Selling Skins...

If you build a community on TG or Discord, you risk losing access to your data when the channel gets banned.

If you build your own website, most hosting providers will still allow you to recover your data even if the site is taken down.
