I noticed Selene and Chaos sprites are mangled with the original art. Not sure of any other bugs.

I will check. I know in previous patches they added extra animation effects to the vanilla art and I had to hide them each (like moon glow and glint).

I would love to add them back to the new images but it would take SO MUCH TIME for me to do it manually. So if someone knows how to make that kind of animation frames, let me know.

This is the what I have, while handing over the torch over to the next person/artist. You can use it/modify it freely, but only for Hades 2 mod.
I believe Selene is (at least was) of the right size, but the nymph was never properly sized/centered.

I'm rooting for @eddyboy, he did an amazing job with his Hades 1 mod, and I believe his talents will be extensively appreciated for the Hades 2 mod.

when do you think you'll be done with the next update?

Yeah that's what's happening. Those characters have a glow or effect but their original art is also present so I imagine it's keyframed animation somewhere

yep ! so far artemis, selene and chaos have this problem. Also, it kinda funny that AI art make the game look cute !

Are we possibly gonna get a new, completed version for the 1.0 release?

Thanks for your work Kuipo !

It works well except for the new animations on artemis/chaos/selene

But i have another problem : the animations on screen are very low framerate when there's a dialogue or keepsake selection. idk if anyone got this too ?

I'm also noticing that in some dialogues the images revert back to original in Kuipo's mod.  crossing fingers for an update :)

Thanks, it looks like they added new art `Portraits_Melinoe_PleasedFlushed_01` in addition to the old `Portraits_Melinoe_Pleased_01`.  I'm taking a look today and I'll see what I can come up with to fix all the issues so far.

Edit: They added multiple "flushed" ones. I can just overwrite those easily but I may make slight changes to the images to make them flushed... or maybe I'll use it an an excuse to include more images. I have lots that I left out that I liked but didn't have a place to put them.

How exactly do you pack up the sprites into .pkg and make a mod? i edited the selene sprite onto the extracted game sprite but idk how to actually get it in the game. I appreciate any help

There's a good group of people on the Hades Modding discord that can help out with questions: https://discord.gg/MHhz582utv

It's not an easy file swap sadly... an overview is:

I use deppth (GitHub - quaerus/deppth: Decompress, Extract, and Pack for Pyre, Transistor, and Hades) and put the replacement textures into a directory and create the .pkg and .pkg_manifest using the command: hades_texture_pack -s RespriteNSFW -t Kuipo-Resprite

This will create the pkg file with your images but then you need to make the ret of the mod files that replace the images when they load in the game. You can look at the sjson.lua file in my mod and see how I use the mod tools to "intercept" when a file is supposed to load and then load a replacement file from my .pkg.

Hope this helps, but if you don't have some basic programming understanding I'm afraid it's not an easy task =/

1.0 Release Version

So I got enough time to update the mod to fix the issues caused by the 1.0 release of the game. The images should no longer be obstructed by effects from the original art.

Release Notes for this version:

- Fixed an issue where the glow and other effects of the original artwork was showing on top of the replacement images.
- Added "Dora Thoughtful" image.
- When they released 1.0 they added some artwork with the characters are "flushed". For the time being I have just replaced them with the non-flushed versions to get a release out for use while I work on other images.
- Fixed the placement of some of the images to be better aligned on screen.

I am still using the r2modmanager for now so the install instructions are included in the Readme.md file.  I may look into using Gale since it's supposed to be easier for mods that local like this one. If you have questions on how to install it and you can't figure it out from the instructions I will try to reply in here and I am on Discord as well, same name Kuipo.

Alright.  I think it's too difficult to install manually so I made it much easier to install and I will now update it on r2modman itself. I will still post updates here when I update the mod but now it's MUCH easier to install.

How to install:

Step 1 - Install and setup r2modman by making a profile and selecting hades2

Step 2 - Open r2modman and click the "Online" section on the left side

image.thumb.png.b469c718a757128e190f8d87860471ed.png

Step 3 - Click Filter in the top right and check the "Allow NSFW (potentially explicit) mods" checkbox and click Apply Filters

image.thumb.png.4bbffc301a303e630616f3cabb607a19.png

Step 4 - Select my mod from the list or search for NSFWResprite and select the Download button on the right hand side

image.thumb.png.6bcb578947c64a7a2a886d28ea476700.png

Step 5 - Select the latest version and press the Download with dependencies button

image.thumb.png.a97a56d4492be14b922844fbe9d937cc.png

Done!  You can verify it's all installed by selecting the "Installed" option on the left and seeing it installed with the dependencies.

image.thumb.png.a71521e69895a4479c95f8116f166eed.png

You can now run the game by pressing the "Start modded" button in the top left and your game will have the modded content.

Currently the working version on r2modman should be 1.0.1 (1.0.0 has a bug where the images don't load so if you only see 1.0.0, wait a while to see if r2modman updates later. I hear it can take about an hour to get the most recent version pushed out to people sometimes).

Thanks so much! Wanted to play this game so bad but the characters were just far too ugly, I couldn't handle it. Your art looks great. Eagerly waiting for those flushed sprites too.

Привет,

Не подскажете, как заменить Гефеста на любого другого персонажа? Мне всё равно, пусть он будет дубликатом, но я не могу смотреть на эту мерзость, и она портит мне удовольствие от игры.

EDIT:

Hi,

Could you tell me how to replace Hephaestus with any other character? I don't care if he's a duplicate, but I can't stand to look at this abomination, and it ruins my enjoyment of the game.

For the .atlas.json files. Do i have to make them manually or is it automatic somewhere? thank you

Got the original image once when getting a hera boon so far since 1.01 update. (Kuipo mod)

Looks like some new portraits were added maybe? Nemesis has two now and sometimes the default one with her looking to the side will show up instead of the modded one. I'm pretty sure multiple characters have additional portraits now, so we may need some extra art.

Got it kinda but the glow is blocking it a bit, Does anyone know if there is some way to change it or should i just post the mod like this?

Imo this is fine for now. There's other lower hanging fruit.

I suspect you're adding Eris as well from elsewhere in this thread.

Artemis and mayyybe Hera have other slightly different? sprites that appear fully clothed. Body seems to be the same.

That should make a decent version 3.

On the other hand not sure how they set up the glow so it could be straightforward. Losing the glow goes against the spirit of the mod, so you'll need to make a call.

This mod already has Melinoe, Aphrodite, Artimis and Hera, Im just adding on to it with the sprite edits that were posted here and wasn't put into mod form. I think i recall someone doing Eris but idk if it was AI or not. I also might try to do the new expressions that some of the characters got.

Yup, that's great. There's a couple of Eris edits on page 6, use your judgement. Good luck.
