I worked on making a mod for eddyboy's art changes and I got something working. Working with them to publish a first version maybe? It's early days on the art changes but getting the mod files working should allow for us to publish something I would think.

Are you going to continue with the rest of the genderbent characters? I am currently waiting for your Ares to play lol

For sure. Ya. the majority of my work on eddie's mod was the initial setup. I would like to get to the remaining characters soon if I can.

Ahh I haven't gotten to that part of the game yet, although I knew about it (I just didn't know what it did to the portraits in game). I wondered why she was so small compared to a lot of the other characters. Maybe I reduce the enlarge a bit so it's not quite so off the screen, but overall I like the portraits being larger... I'll think on it. I wouldn't mind if she was off the screen a bit just to emphasize how much larger she is? Overall I think the easiest thing to do would be to reduce the scale. It looks like right now it sets the scale to 1.2 and I usually have her scaled down to 0.6~0.75 (depending on the image). I suppose until I get to that point in the game it will have to wait haha.

Kuipo, really enjoying your mod, and glad to see you're still improving it! Hope you don't mind some constructive feedback:

 

- Sprites I love: Selene, Arachne, Aphrodite, Hermes, Apollo, Dora's bath scene

- Sprites I'd like to see more boob from: Dora, Melinoe, Nemesis, Medea, Poseidon

- Sprites that kind of gross me out: Zeus, Odysseus, Hephaestus

- Still-male sprites I'd love to see genderbent: Icarus (bath scene!), Ares, Prometheus, Chronos

Awesome work, really exited for your new release, when you do multiple images please do one from the back (so we can see the ass/asshole)

I just pushed the patch with the new characters:
Ares
Cyclops
Dionysus
Narcissus
Skelly

It also addressed the small 1.1 changes and adding images for Achilles.

 

I will probably take a break for a while so I don't get too burnt out and also because I have IRL things to attend to too. The only remaining characters are:
 

  • Icarus
  • Persephone
  • Hades
  • Prometheus
  • Chronos
  • Zagreus

I will probably do them in that order(?) and I may only do them one at a time instead of in large patches like this.

Hmm… is anyone else getting that Issue? My only thought would be that it was still rolling out? (Thunderstorm and the app seems to take some time to distribute the build sometimes)

I had to manually download and install the update for it to work. New art looks great though.

Unfortunately for those that don't like characters I don't plan on remaking any of the characters since it takes a lot of work and in the end I'll never please everyone anyway.  I will do a favor to anyone that don't like a specific character or two and would rather them be the default art.

 

Here's how you can disable any specific character or characters you don't like from my package.

Open the following file in a text editor of choice, all the changes that will be made are in this file (obviously use your username and not mine in C:\Urers\ 😞

C:\Users\kuipo\AppData\Roaming\r2modmanPlus-local\HadesII\profiles\Default\ReturnOfModding\plugins\Kuipo-NSFWResprite\sjson.lua

There are 3 major parts to every character and some have a 4th.

1. The image replacement

2. The disabled effects for the original artwork

3. The codex image/entry for the character

4. Some characters also have an overlay for certain parts of the game.

 

For this tutorial I'll show how do disable Hephaestus.

 

1. First you need to disable the image replacement. There are often more than one. For Hep there are 2 images that get replaced, look for the section that looks like this:

Either comment out this code or delete it. This will stop my mod from replacing the default art with the new images.

 

2. To enable the effects again, you'll want to find the part of the code that looks like this:

    Portrait_Hephaestus_Wiggle1_In                  = true,

    Portrait_Hephaestus_Wiggle4                     = true,
    Portrait_Hephaestus_HilightsGlow                = true,
    Portrait_Hephaestus_MainGlow                    = true,
    Portrait_Hephaestus_Glint                       = true,
    Portrait_Hephaestus_Blink                       = true,

Either comment out this code or delete it. This will enable the effects like the moon glow, glint, wiggle, and eye blinking for the original art.

 

3. To disable the image replacement for the Codex entry, find the code that looks like this:

        if animation_data.Name == "Codex_Portrait_Hephaestus" then
            animation_data.FilePath = "Kuipo-RespriteCodex\\Codex_Portrait_Hephaestus"
        end

Either comment out this code or delete it. This will stop my mod from replacing the default codex art with the new codex images.

 

4. And lastly you will want to check if there is any overlay for the character. To do this, look for some code that has Overlay in it like this for Hep:

            animation_data.Scale = 0.7 --done

Either comment out this code or delete it. Not every character has this part in the code and you'll just have to look to see if the character is listed in the section that deals with Overlay's.

 

If you delete or comment out all 4 of these sections of code, the default character art will show instead the next time you load the game. I don't really plan on supporting this kind of change so if you can't figure it out... ask someone for help? However I also know that images like this are personal and not to everyone's tastes. I've used mods like this before in other games and wish people would at least point me in the right direction. This hopefully gives you the information you need to turn off the characters you don't wish to see.  You could do this to all the male characters too if you don't want the genderbent characters.... it will get easier after the first character you disable. The code is organized fairly easily and you should be able to find any character you want.

 

Lastly, if you break the mod somehow and can't get it working for whatever reason... just use r2modman to uninstall the mod and reinstall it and it should work again.

I had this issue to since I'm new,  but this is what I did based on some comments back in the thread

 

Download "r2modman" you can find instructions from the site that host this on how to install and configure it....once you do that Kuipos

mod will be be there (be sure to enable NSFW in the options menu of r2modman) you can find his mod using the search functions..

 

 

Kuipos mod has dependencies and it will download them along with his mod

Ya sadly I would be basically telling you how to make this entire mod hah. That's all this mod does really, changes the images. That being said if you just wanted to replace an image that I already replace... The quickest and easiest way to do it though would be to get this tool:

Install it and learn how to package up a file with it (this will be the hardest part, getting this tool to run). When it's done packing the files it gives you filepaths similar to the ones I have in my mod:

Kuipo-RespritePortraits1\Portrait_Artemis_Default_01

Save those so you know what to put in the mod files later.

 

Then you need to load the .pkg file. I have a file called ready.lua that you would put the name of your .pkg file into (excluding the .pkg):
LoadPackages({Names = {"Kuipo-RespriteCodex", "Kuipo-RespritePortraits1", "Kuipo-RespritePortraits2", "NewPackageNameHere"}})

That will load your new package when the mod loads.

 

Then you need to replace the image path of my image with yours. You would go into the sjson.lua file of my mod, find the image you want to replace and put your file name in place of mine being sure to replace \ with \\.

 

That should be it, you would have replaced my image with your own.  However your image will look strange in game. The position and size will be off. You then need to edit the Scale, OffsetY, and OffsetX values. This is a tedious process that takes some time with trial and error to understand how it works. If you get those looking right you'd be set.

For those of you that aren't a fan of the AI images... @eddyboy and I have worked together to get a mod started.  

 

Hades 2 Free the Nipple Edition
Like its predecessor, Hades 2: Free the Nipple Edition modifies the sprites of Hades 2 to be spicier while still staying true to the game's original visual style.

Unlike its predecessor, it is a Team Project: Package compiled and uploaded by Kuipo. Art compiled and created by Eddyboy, involving contributions by Dorian Bates, Medician and Emikochan.

This is currently developed for the 1.1 release of Hades 2. NOTE: You must be using high resolution textures to see the replacement images.

 

What it changes:

Currently this mod only replaces the artwork for:

  • Aphrodite
  • Artemis
  • Hera
  • Melinoe

Over time as Eddyboy creates more art to implement we will update more gods.

 

Install Instructions:

Install of this mod is the same as my mod:

  1. Install r2modman https://thunderstore.io/package/ebkr/r2modman/
  2. Run r2modman, and create a profile
  3. On the left of r2modman select Online
  4. Select the "Filter" button in the top right and check the "Allow NSFW mods" to enable NSFW content and select Apply
  5. Search for FreeTheNippleEdition and select download (Say yes to installing dependencies)
  6. Launch the game by selecting Start Modded in the top left of r2modman
