Out of curiosity what did you try to change? Were you trying to directly edit the images themselves? Because (assuming you're only trying to use the existing tattoos) you can get them merged just by editing a couple of text files. At a minimum, you just need the file in the common/genes folder and the file in gfx/portraits/portrait_modifiers. In the portrait modifiers file, you add a new tattoo entry, just like the ones before it. Just update it with a higher gene strength value than the previous ones. Then on the genes file, you have to change the alpha curve numbers to match the gene strength value of the new tattoo combination you created. There's no examples in my last file I uploaded, but when the next update releases you can check out the changes. Or are you talking about female NPC courtiers not getting a higher trait? Female NPC courtiers don't have many events that give experience points past the first level. I tried creating a new pair of dds files and copyPaste the tattoos I wanted into it, then dupe/increment the text file entries for one of the face tattoos. Couldn't figure out where I'd typo'd something, but the game would CtD during the mod-loading stage. Thanks for the additions coming up, they sound great:-)

In fact what you did was what I tried to do at first, sounds like you encountered the same exact issue I was having. I also had my game crash in the loading screen whenever I changed or added a new dds file. For me it was an issue of the saving process. When you create or edit a .dds file for CK3, you need to save the .dds file with settings as BC3 (Linear,DXT5). I had read on another post on this website that you're supposed to uncheck all boxes, but I figured out I needed "Generate Mip Maps" to be on. Without Mip Maps, my file size was always 1MB when all the correctly working files seemed to be 1.3MB. I honestly couldn't tell you what any of those setting choices do or mean, but that's what worked for me. Oh also I think you need to make sure the resolution is 1024 x 1024. If you or anyone else cares to try and edit/add things yourself, this is how my save screen looks when I use paint.net. Don't know what it would look like on GIMP or Photoshop but I imagine it's not too different. 1

Honestly no idea why those traits are in the character creator. And even if they are kept their, they should be mutually exclusive, like the physical, intellect, and beauty trait sets. The way to start the trait chain in the game is pretty straightforward, and unless you deliberately chose to reject the advances of the BBC characters, you get experience and advance the traits pretty quickly.

I can't replicate the issue on my end, black characters are correctly giving females the experience points after sex. Should only take like 3-4 sex interactions to upgrade a woman to the second trait level. Do you have this mod and Carnalitas at the most updated version? And just to clarify, you do see where the trait experience points are right? You're saying every time your character has sex with a women, she is not getting any additional trait experience? 1

I had an old version that worked like this but I ran into many problems because I am bad at modding and wanted to include new content. what i do now is some weird hybrid of this and the legacy version cause I found that easier to make work the way I want. maybe with the addition of bull events we could get support for no event spawned bbcs option?

manmademonster Posted November 17, 2024 Posted November 17, 2024 (edited) Alright, was attempting a landed->landless Oriental Empires + RICE + Medieval Matriarchs + Witchcraft + Interracial Takeover playthrough, and here's what I learned: The intent was to start in Iceland, and while doing the Greenland/Vinland Struggle from RICE, to also do the Amazonian/Themiscyra events from Medieval Matriarchs while I was still landed and could tinker with my culture. The problem was, despite NOT inviting refugees the whole time, within 66 years, my character was still a Snowbunny from guests who wandered in and triggered the events before I could dismiss or kill them. But this was just an indicator in my remote corner of the world of what was going on elsewhere. That map is getting blacked through landless adventurers and guests. "But why were you stalling/resisting the BBC events?" I hear you ask. Well, because it makes it much harder to fulfill some of the lesbian/female leader requirements of Medieval Matriarchs when every woman in court is being Blacked. Even harder when the moment the Amazonian characters spawn or are recruited to fulfill those requirements, they get married away from my court by BBC in the surrounding region. Normally in such a situation, I'd play without the problem mod until I wanted to engage with its content, but there's that problem with Interracial Takeover where the spawned BBC are all white if you add the mod mid-way in a game. 4988 of 32959 or 15.13% of all characters are BBC in 933.
