en_hawk Posted December 12, 2013 Author Posted December 12, 2013 Anyways, if anyone wants more customization for SkyKids, I threw this package together that contains alternative skeletons, alternate textures, CharGen compatibility, head parts consolidation patches for those wanting to use their TES5Edit patched custom hairs in creation kit, and a patch to add some Dark Elf eyes to the drow race, all packaged in a nice, convenient NMM/BAIN Installer with options for whatever you do or don't want.  I mean, just incase anyone wanted such things: http://www.mediafire.com/download/x16pj3pcek43pjp/SkyKids%20_Options%20-%20BAIN%20NMM.7z    Update History 10 Dec 2013: Updated patch package to include new "Less Shiny Drow" option   It's cool that people are making optional stuff, though there are a couple corrections I want to make. The face texture was never based on pretty face; the initial release used the lips and ears off the pretty face diffuse map but the base as well as all the other maps have always been something else. In the new beta 2 update the spec map has been replaced with SG textures face and the diffuse map has been overhauled based on that as well. The drow body spec map was updated in beta 2 to fix a slight error with the markings on the stomach; you should up your textures to reflect that(they're also kinda jaggedey in yours). I also got around to making CGE CME patches for the races finally, you have copied the sliders file into the patches; you should be referencing them externally like the official CGE race patches do(look at my files or any of the official patches to see what I mean). Lastly, the skeleton profile is different from mine; mine has longer legs and shorter arms. The drow and monli also used different skeletons that changed the shape of the torso ontop of that. If you guys are having compatibility problems with the older version of XPMS used in the mod, you just need to speak up about it and I'll update my skeletons. I do appreciate your effort, I'm just a bit of a perfectionist is all. Official CGE ECE patches are attached. <attachment removed, file added to main post>  Armour patcher not working. When I activate the armour patcher, it says SK Drow.esm is missing some masters- Skykids.esm Please activate it and try again. Only thing is it IS active It sounds like you failed to install the BOSS userlist entries, as others have pointed out. That step is not optional, reread the installation instructions.  @zixaphir Thank you, im going to download and try it out  Edit: well this works great i have to say, the only gripe i have is the skeleton, is there any chance you could edit the skeleton to have a bit more longer legs? My character looks like a little goblin now, but the dagger on hip is awesome!   Just a bit longer legs would do the trick...this is the no hips version btw. Are you having compatibility issues with the official skeletons?  I have found a seam around the neck when wearing the basic Necromancer robes.Male or female, as well as race.    Armour patcher not working. When I activate the armour patcher, it says SK Drow.esm is missing some masters- Skykids.esm Please activate it and try again. Only thing is it IS active Open up mod manager or any other prgram you use to manage your mods and drag the skykids.esm above the sk drow.esm...this error happens when the skykids esm. is positioned under the sk drow esm.  I am having the same issue. I tried running the patcher and came across the error. Moved the SK Drow.esm over Skykids.esm and ran the patcher again. I did this to see if my NMM was being screwy again. I got the error again, then moved it back under Skykids.esm, and it keeps giving me the same error. Am I doing something wrong?  version of NMM is 0.46.0  Same thing as the fellow above, sounds like you did not install the BOSS userlist entries; reread the installation instructions.
RadioSilence Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 An updated skeleton would be nice, but no major rush on it. I just like the dual daggers on the lower back, dual swords on the back, lower quiver, etc...
JerWA Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 Hi I have just started using CoTS and found this lovely mod. I have a few questions about using them together or 1 over the other if someone is willing to help.  The description said that there should be no direct conflict. If I run both will the NPC children that were added or replaced with cots versions remain? Will anything special need to be done when switching between saves if 1 was created prior to skykids being installed and has a CoTS player character?  How do the versions of the armor made for Skykids look? I really like the cutesy versions that are in CoTS and many of the additional misc clothing added to it, does Skykids do something similar? The armor pictures attached to the thread don't quite show the variety. Is there word of other people converting armor for Skykids?  It is said that the Skykids use slightly different proportions than the CoTS, mainly the child Monli. Does this mean that they have a shorter torso? too me it looks like the CoTS has a torso that is too long for the rest of the body proportions. If Skykids fixes this, then great.  Lastly, other than the included new races, what is there in this mod that CoTS doesn't have/do? Pro vs con of running 1 instead of the other.  Skykids does not currently replace NPCs, so there will be no conflict there. CoTS NPCs are a customized version of Xvision, I'm about 80% sure you can remove that part and replace it without anything breaking. That said, there are no default NPC overwrites from SK yet, so the kids would go back to vanilla if you removed CoTS.  The armor included with Skykids is remeshed vanilla, it looks exactly like vanilla except you don't magically grow body parts you didn't have before you put the armor on. Add-on armor should work as expected though the body won't be quite right, with UNP-based being the closest fit.  CoTS stomps all over your vanilla game assets, you will be changing default races, primary scripts and other things regardless of what you want. There is no armor swapper, so you will have to make everyone wear the same armor. It's also over a year since the last update, so things like race compatibility are hopelessly out of date.

CoTS Reworked and Standalone is actively updated and properly sandboxed from Vanilla assets and has an armor pack (but no patcher). It probably modifies Vanilla FormIDs, though.   It's cool that people are making optional stuff, though there are a couple corrections I want to make.  I do appreciate your effort, I'm just a bit of a perfectionist is all. Official CGE ECE patches are attached.  The skeleton I used is a newer version of XPMS, and the reasons I wanted to add it were kinda twofold. On one hand, I wanted to change the shapes of the Skeletons anyways (no offense to your work, purely a matter of tastes), and secondly, I've been following the thread and had seen that you'd already stated it was an outdated Skeleton and I have a latest version fetish. It was also nice because I had no experience with NifSkope beforehand, other than using it as a model viewer.  As for the issues with the credits on the textures, I apologize. I was reading the credits of the textures back on Beta 1 and I'd thought that they had stated the textures were based on Pretty Face. I'll correct that. Also now that you're providing your own CGE patches, I'll probably cease to do so. My only intention with those was that I'd gotten them to work myself and figured people would appreciate them if they used CGE until you'd officially added support. I'm always trying to do that, work on things for myself and share them just in case anyone else is interested.
Aria Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 @en_hawk No no i dont have any issues, i was trying to modify the skeleton more to my liking, just like zixaphir said that its just a matter of taste, i pretty much tried all of the children mods and yours is the closest to being perfect but the thing that bothers me the most with all of the child mods is that the bodies are too curvacious, considering that its supposed to be a child and the body is still developing, the curves are too much. (curvacious..not even sure if thats the right word im using here, i hope so, sorry for the confusion if not, english isnt my main language) Most of the mods are just unp bodies with flat chest, except yours wich feels closer to the image of a child, but still has the too visible curves and bigger bottom, wich is probably caused by the very thin waist. This is not ment as an offense ofcourse, im just trying to figure out how to edit the skeleton that the ratio of the hands, torso, hips and legs would come closer to less curvacious option. Zixaphirs modified skeleton comes very close to what i immagined.  On another note, thank you for the ECE patch but im totaly confused now at what to use, i have race menu, i have ece, i have chargen, its morphs installed and its starts to be a reall mess somehow.     @zixaphirThank you, tried that plugin but uhh, that hideousness that came up from my creation...rather not gonna mess with the skeleton   The funny thing about that plugin is it's literally a one-to-one mapping of the values you change in NifSkope to customize skeleton scaling. I personally use it myself so that I can have a base skeleton that's roughly what I want, and then change values in racemenu for slight differences between my characters.  It's really kinda cool.  Cool, didnt know that, ill give it another shot then, thanks!
JerWA Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 Aria, Â 'hawks ECE patch is for CGE. It's like what zix posted but tuned a little and just the INI files for CGE still. Â RaceMenu works with CGE (and without it), so you don't need to remove that. ECE itself eh, up to you. Still sketchy, and with CGE you don't really need it. Â Been talking about skeletons a lot. I absolutely hate the XPMS ratios personally, but "converting" that is something lots of people have done before (including me, and 'hawk, and zix'... and and and hehe). I'm not entirely sure how the skeletons work for plugins you don't have. I know the engine can get pretty spastic if you run a mod expecting a node that isn't there, not sure what it does the other way (e.g. nodes with nothing using them).
Rez Delnava Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 The nodes existing without being used is mostly harmless in my experience. I used to play my male characters using the XP32 female skeleton (prior to SOS coming along and forcing people to recognize the default male skele was crap) because it had some accessory nodes I wanted to use and ratios I liked better. Â I still use a modded female skeleton on my male characters just so I can have the most slider options. It still has the (unused) breast and butt bones and I don't notice any performance issues unless I turn on HDT; in which case its looking for the weights on the b/b bones which are not there causing it throw a whole bunch of null values in the HDT script logs.

Anyway the problem im having with en_hawks cge patch is, the sliders arent working for me, with zix patch they work. I am probably doing something wrong here. Â
Emprah Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013   I have found a seam around the neck when wearing the basic Necromancer robes.Male or female, as well as race.  Male, Child High Elf. Â
RadioSilence Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 Is there a way to change the length of the elf / drow ears? Cause right now you can't really... or maybe be able to angle them back more?
JerWA Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 CGE with the ECE optional. That's it, there are no ways to do so in the vanilla game.

It is not 'sandboxed' or 'proper' in any sense of the word.  @en_hawk No no i dont have any issues, i was trying to modify the skeleton more to my liking, just like zixaphir said that its just a matter of taste, i pretty much tried all of the children mods and yours is the closest to being perfect but the thing that bothers me the most with all of the child mods is that the bodies are too curvacious, considering that its supposed to be a child and the body is still developing, the curves are too much. Zixaphirs modified skeleton comes very close to what i immagined. I'm surprised to hear that, I agree that the CotS body is way too curvy(friggin thunder thighs...) but I'm surprised that you think mine is still too curvy. During development it had gotten to the point where people had thought it wasn't curvy enough, and I had to back it off a tad. You could try the alternate skeleton packed with the monli and drow races, I was shooting for a slightly younger look on those skeletons and it might give you more of what you're looking for.  Anyway the problem im having with en_hawks cge patch is, the sliders arent working for me, with zix patch they work. I am probably doing something wrong here. You need to install the 'CharGen Core' and 'CharGen Morphs ECE' packages of CharGen Extension, and then install my ECE patch ontop of it. You do NOT want to have Enhanced Character Edit installed in any capacity. Let me know if you're still having trouble after trying that. The skeleton should be compatible with this: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/45235/? which will allow you to customize the skeleton in RaceMenu.  I would stay away from all mods like this, it has the exact same problem as race menu plugin. They don't load the initial scale values of the skeleton nodes in before starting up, and as a result set the scale on every single bone they support to 1.0, essentially nullifying the scaling included in the skeletons packaged with skykids(or anything else you use them on). Hopefully that is an issue that gets corrected in a new version of the nif binary extension that these mods use, as its a cool concept.
Aria Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 @en_hawk Ahh now i see what was wrong, i had the morphs installed but not ECE morphs, now the sliders are working perfectly, thank you. Â About the body, no i like it its just that the bottom still feels large compared to the very thin waist, im going to try out the other skeletons from monli and drow as you suggested. I really dont want to mess with the skeleton to be honest, knowing it can cause lots of issues.
Skypack Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 Hey guys,  i bought Skyrim Legendary Edition a few days ago and than i found the skykids mod here and must have it! So i need two days to read this thread and to understand the absolutely necessary, to bring skykids with all addons and optional mods to run, because it was the first game i tried to mod.  Now i think everything except the monli addon works fine but there are some questions now i got.  I have the same problem as RadioSilence. I used Nexus Mod Manager to install the mods but monli and the nude patch are don´t work with NMM. I tried to copy the monli files manually but when i start the armor patcher, i became the same Error as RadioSilence: "Preset 2 is missing OblHair02.esm". I tried to find this file somewhere in the web but has no luck. Now en_hawk says, that it is possible to use different hairstyle for monli.  Please can someone explain me exactly what i have to do to use a hairstyle from apachii hair females for the monli addon? (en_hawk: maybe its good to update the monli addon to work with apachii, so it could installed without a mod, that is not available anymore?)  I also installed the Liania-Follower but if i reached her in the Bannered Mare in Whiterun and tell her to follow me, nothing happents. Maybe i need to activate followers first with the become of Lydia as follower? (I know i had to ask in the Liania thread but i thougt someone here has this mod too and can tell me short, so i don´t have to start another thread for this little question)  Another question that i have is about the child clothes. Are there anywere compatible sweet outfits and how could i get there ingame? The alyn shir armor from Aria looks very sweet and i will try to install it  Because Boss and the Armor patcher i´m a little bit confused and don´t know exactly what they do.               1. Have i need to run Boss after every new mod i have installed and whith what settings? Everytime Sort Plugins and update Masterlist or anything else?               2. Why i have to run armorpatcher after installing monli? Are there new armors within the monli addon?  And what is the different between monli race and the other skykids?  Finally i like to know if there are any known mod, that are not compatible with skykids?  Now a big thanks to you en_hawk for this very lovely mod and i´m corious about it, what other thinks you will implant in the future. I hope you will work an support on it anytime, so we all could be happy about new thinks that will come  Sorry for my horrible english but i realy tried my best  Now i need 1,5 hours to write this post and hope you could understand what i wrote und have a view helpfully answers for a modding noob Â

Like you can see on the right side of the pic, the clothes have a wierd position arround the legs, wich is a weighting issue.   Â
ratrace Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 I'd like to mention that the armor patcher has a problem with getting the included Unofficial Patches masters in the right order. Therefore, the resulting armor swapper esp needs to get its master files reordered. I did that manually in Tes5Edit. I run BOSS of course, and the swapper reproccer recognized BOSS, but nevertheless can't sort the masters correctly. Â Seems to be a general ReProccer problem, since the SkyRe-Reproccer has the same glitch. It seems that it cannot handle false flagged esp files. Since version 2.0, Arthmoor (the creator of the Unofficial Patch Series) flagged the Unofficial Patches as esms though they are in fact esps. The Proccer doesn't get that and sorts the esps all in one row below the esms.

(en_hawk: maybe its good to update the monli addon to work with apachii, so it could installed without a mod, that is not available anymore?) First of all, the mod is not compatible with NMM; you need to be installing the packages by hand using the installation instructions provided in the thread. The preset patches are for placing the intended custom hair styles on the racial presets, nothing more. They are optional so that users are not forced to install custom hair mods in order to use the race(some of which may not be available any longer as you have noticed). As with all of the races in skykids, any hair/eye mods will require compatibility patches in order to function(these are separate, and unrelated to the preset patches for the monli addon). There is already a patch for apachii hair available in the thread, it will work on all races including the monli.  I also installed the Liania-Follower but if i reached her in the Bannered Mare in Whiterun and tell her to follow me, nothing happents. Maybe i need to activate followers first with the become of Lydia as follower? (I know i had to ask in the Liania thread but i thougt someone here has this mod too and can tell me short, so i don´t have to start another thread for this little question)That isn't an official mod, so I can't really provide support for it(I don't even have it installed). Asking in it's release thread would be the best course of action.  Because Boss and the Armor patcher i´m a little bit confused and don´t know exactly what they do.               1. Have i need to run Boss after every new mod i have installed and whith what settings? Everytime Sort Plugins and update Masterlist or anything else?               2. Why i have to run armorpatcher after installing monli? Are there new armors within the monli addon? Yes you need to run BOSS after installing anything, the default settings are fine(you can just run BOSS.exe directly if you want). I'm not sure I understand what you mean by having to run the armor patcher after installing the monli addon; the armor patcher is not affected by having/not having the monli plugin, you still need to run it after adding/removing armor mods just like with the main races.  And what is the different between monli race and the other skykids? The facegen assets are different, but that's about it. All of this should be covered in the OP.  Finally i like to know if there are any known mod, that are not compatible with skykids? There are a few troublemakers that are listed in the FAQ section of the OP(those mods have compatibility issues with everything, not skykids specifically), but outside of that there shouldn't be any.  Hello Nuki, well there are some sweet clothes i converted, but im having weighting issues with them, its a headache...since i am a total noob regarding this, i really dont know when this gets solved.  Some of the clothes might not get released since they dont really feel appropriate for the kids...like the Kaine outfit in the pic example. Like you can see on the right side of the pic, the clothes have a wierd position arround the legs, wich is a weighting issue.   Those are coming along rather nicely, I could help you fix the weighting issues if you'd like.  I'd like to mention that the armor patcher has a problem with getting the included Unofficial Patches masters in the right order. Therefor, the resulting armor swapper esp needs to get its master files reordered. I did that manually in Tes5Edit. I run BOSS of course - just thought I'd mention that.  Seems to be a general ReProccer problem, since the SkyRe-Reproccer has the same glitch. That's unfortunate, though there's not much I can do about it. Here's hoping SkyProc gets updated to handle this better? Thanks for letting me know about this.  Anyway, I just noticed I kinda goofed on the monli preset patches, I'll have to put out a hotfix for that.
ratrace Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 How re-ordeeing the master entries in an esp works: Â 1. Fire up Tes5Edit. For those who don't have it yet - get it here: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/25859/? 2. Deactivate ALL esps in Tes5Edit (right click in a free spot in the esp list and choose "none"), afterwards activate the armor swapper esp. Make sure that it is the only esp active! 3. WAIT. It needs to load a lot of records. When it has finished, you will see that in the message window. 4. Right click the armor swapper esp, choose "Sort masters". You won't see a confirmation, th e sorting is instantly finished. Then close Tes5Edit. You will be prompted with a new window that displays the changed esps - in this case just the armor swapper esp. Simply confirm (i. e. close the window). Â This procedure needs to be repeated every time after you rebuild the armor swapper esp!
Skypack Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 Hi en_hawk,  thanks for your quick answers, that helped me alot!  I don´t know how i came to the idea, that i need to run armorpatcher after installing the monli mod but i did it and became this Error. After that i removed the entry "preset2" from the Boss userlist.txt and the armorpatcher was well done. But if i choose monli race in the charakter creation and changed the gender to female, the game crashed. Anyway now i will to search trough this thread again for the apachii patch an try to install the monli addon again.  Because of the Liania mod i asked already in the release thread after i got Lydia and it doesn´t changed anything with the Problem.  Hi Aria,  i tryed to find this weighting issues on your screenshot but can´t find anything that looks not nice. :-) Maybe my translation of "weighting issues" is wrong I like the outfit on the left side and the second from the right, but prefer it in other colors. Is it possible to change the colors of the clothes somehow? If you get your weighting issues problem fixed, i would be happy and thankful if you could release your nice work here. :-)  In the OP i read that are some girl clothes integrated with skykids. Where can i see and get them ingame? Is there a shop anywhere, so i can buy them?

You also should not need to remove things from the userlist, simply disabling the plugin is enough.  Anyway now i will to search trough this thread again for the apachii patch an try to install the monli addon again. The patches are listed and available in the OP, they are under 'Installation Instructions' - 'Cosmetic mod(hair/eyes) compatibility patches'.  In the OP i read that are some girl clothes integrated with skykids. Where can i see and get them ingame? Is there a shop anywhere, so i can buy them?As explained in the OP, the converted clothes use the same items as their vanilla counterparts. When you equip something on any of the skykids races and it has a replacement model, it will display the replacement without any user intervention.
Skypack Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 Hey en_hawk, Â ok, now i think i have understood the point with the integrated clothes. Sorry but my english is not very well, so few things of the installation instructions i had not realised. Now i think all of the Skykids Content works fine, after i reinstalled the mods manually, because first i installed all mods with NMM and this programm seems to be not the best for this Job. :-P I started a new game with a monli girl and played now until Whiterun and everything works fine yet Found a black robe, that looks very pretty on her Thanks a lot for your help again Â
Aria Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 @en_hawk Thank you! That would be great, i dont think i will be able to fix this by myself as this is rather too advanced for me. First i have to finish some stuff and make order in it, because its a chaos, i will send you the link after thats done. Â @Nuki Thank you, well hopefully some stuff will be fixed and can get released.
mak59 Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 So the previous time I tried installing this mod, I didn't read the part about needing the DLCs (Yup pretty stupid of me) Well I finnally got the DLCs in a sale yesterday and managed to install Skykids. But I can't seem to patch the armor patch. It says that SK drow race is missing some parameters "Skykids.esm". So I tried removing the drow race to check if it works but now it gives the same error for the Monli. Any help?
RadioSilence Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 Repost of what I already posted... Seems en_hawk needs to put the BOSS user list thing in big bold red letters...  Lets just get the basics down, so we know if your missing anything. When you run the patcher, it first runs BOSS, so moving the plugins beforehand wont help, as BOSS will move it back again.  1. Install all the files from the download with NMM (Or Manually like en_hawk says to) 2. Manually install the Monli files, as NMM wont work with it's file structure. (At least for me) 3. Open your BOSS user list. (C:\BOSS\Skyrim) or wherever you installed it. 4. Paste OVERRIDE: SK Drow Child Race.esm AFTER: Skykids.esmOVERRIDE: SK Monli Race.esmAFTER: Skykids.esmADD: monli preset1.espBOTTOM: OverridesADD: monli preset2.espBOTTOM: OverridesADD: monli preset3.espBOTTOM: OverridesADD: SK Child Armor Swapper.espBOTTOM: Dynamic Plugins  5. Run BOSS 6. Check the order of your plugins The order should be: Skykids.esmSK Monli Race.esmSK Drow Child Race.esm  7. Run the SkyProc Patcher 8. If you use a Batched Patch, make sure it is under SK Armor Patch in your plugins. Â
JerWA Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 Only correction I'd like to say is a bashed patch does not necessarily need to go at the bottom of your load order. Mine is 11 up from it in fact, and not on accident. SK armor swapper is the last item in my load order. If you put in the BOSS entries mentioned above it will sort properly.
