JerWA Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Out of curiosity if you could add one new feature right now, what would it be? There are a lot of things in motion with this mod that will expand it greatly in the near...ish... future. In a way there's almost too much in motion, so I'm trying to get a feel for what you guys are really wanting the most. Then I can try to work on it and make it easier for 'hawk to finalize. No promises, but I'm willing to try.
Emprah Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 This mod could use some Followers. I know of one that was made but it seems to have not been updated.
RadioSilence Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 If I can get my load order to work better so I don't crash so much (Maybe just to many mods at once...), then I too would love some followers. ---Mainly--- But first, I think the Drow needs some RaceMenu options for the ears, cause they are to big for my tastes... Also slightly more hair colors... at least white hair. Scars don't work for the Monli or Drow either. (Not really checked the other child races) The Drow needs more info, like that they are immune to diseases... Can see in the dark (Mostly)... but mainly the stats... like Archery, One Handed, etc... cause I have no idea what those are.
kayturner Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 I actually made a follower (well technically still making) using the skykids assets but it does that weird thing where it grow and shrinks whenever it sits or leans against something. I think it is because I tried to make it a standalone so people didn't need to have skykids to use the follower. She is broken for me right now for me right now though wont let me have her come along which I don't think has anything to do with skykids. I also want to give her the ability to be a werebear but that is a little out of what I know at the moment. I would say for added feature would ECE compatibility but I think that wont happen. Not so much the vertex editing as being able to mess with the eyes and mouth size along with more sliders for forehead eyes mouth and nose.

Well, the assets are taken from the original mod, so I just used whatever they used. For hair colors, I used the colors defined by the original mod; you could just use Race Menu to set whatever color you want(like I do). Same thing with the racial skills, I link to the original mod, all of that should be outlined there(and the skill bonuses are actually listed in game if you have Race Menu as well). I actually made a follower (well technically still making) using the skykids assets but it does that weird thing where it grow and shrinks whenever it sits or leans against something. Well CME/ECE support isn't happening as that mod is a disaster and full of conflicts, not to mention I would have to replace all of the facegen assets to do it. However, I am looking into CharGen Extension support which is very similar.

No promises, but I'm willing to try. Hmm well i dont know what can be added, but could it be possible to make skykids work with ECE? ECE has this new feature that lets you edit the face vertices, that would be awesome. On a side note im working on a few conversions for skykids, since i started 3 days ago to learn how to convert armors its gonna take a while, but here here is an ss of alyn shirs converted armor that is basically done.
Sales_Kital Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 I don't understand something about the install, how do I install properly if i don't HAVE skyproc? whatever the heck that is. nevermind, I thought it didn't exist, but I checked and it does exist. I thought it was a seperate download not mentioned in the requirements I have one question though, how do I get the first person camera to actually be at the height of my actual head? because I notice that the camera is actually floating above your head when in first person, and third person.
JerWA Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 <snip> Pointless reply removed, missed an entire page of the thread. For followers I actually have an early beta pair of them if you guys would like to test. They do the same rescaling during animations, anything based on SK will (and anything else using skeleton scaling). You can stop it with this mod but you'll get clipping instead. For me, I find the clipping to be "not so bad." Much less immersion breaking than giant kids leaning on walls. For the first person camera thing you've got another mod breaking things for you. Works perfectly for me. Aria, Skykids are using vanilla assets. CGE has ported ECE morphs which might work (I'll test this). The Nuska morphs on the CGE mod page are confirmed working. I don't know what would be involved in adding "ECE compatibility," but it would probably have to start with installing ECE and nobody wants to do that.

Hmm i see, but why nobody wants to install ECE, did i miss something, is it toxic? 0.0 Im trying to figure out how to edit the face to my liking, make it more rounder, problem is the character customization mods wont work with custom races, the default options work but they dont have the bonus sliders or other option to really edit the face. But dont mind me i dont want to pester anyone, i was just thinking how to achieve a rounder face with skykids
JerWA Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 You can add CGE support with the Nuska morphs with a quick INI edit. If you aren't using CGE now I can just give you the edited INIs, but I'll also include how to make your own so you can add any other races you want to test. Edit: Forgot to mention this WILL require CharGen Extension and the Nuska morphs (called simply CharGen Morphs v2-1-4) download on that page. Go to <gamedirectory>\data\meshes\actors\character\FaceGenMorphs\CharGen Morphs.esp\ and edit races.ini, you can replace the whole thing with (it eats my spaces in here but I don't think it will break anything): # Determines what sliders are available for the particular raceNordRace = sliders\human.iniNordRaceVampire = sliders\human.iniChildNordRace = sliders\human.iniChildNordRaceVampire = sliders\human.ini ImperialRace = sliders\human.iniImperialRaceVampire = sliders\human.iniChildImperialRace = sliders\human.iniChildImperialRaceVampire = sliders\human.ini BretonRace = sliders\human.iniBretonRaceVampire = sliders\human.iniChildBretonRace = sliders\human.iniChildBretonRaceVampire = sliders\human.ini RedguardRace = sliders\human.iniRedguardRaceVampire = sliders\human.iniChildRedguardRace = sliders\human.iniChildRedguardRaceVampire = sliders\human.ini OrcRace = sliders\human.iniOrcRaceVampire = sliders\human.iniChildOrcRace = sliders\human.iniChildOrcRaceVampire = sliders\human.ini DarkElfRace = sliders\human.iniDarkElfRaceVampire = sliders\human.iniChildDarkElfRace = sliders\human.iniChildDarkElfRaceVampire = sliders\human.ini HighElfRace = sliders\human.iniHighElfRaceVampire = sliders\human.iniCHildHighElfRace = sliders\human.iniChildHighElfRaceVampire = sliders\human.ini WoodElfRace = sliders\human.iniWoodElfRaceVampire = sliders\human.iniChildWoodElfRace = sliders\human.iniChildWoodElfRaceVampire = sliders\human.ini Then edit morphs.ini (same place) and ADD this before the # beards line: extension = actors\character\skykids\femaleheadchargen.tri, nuska\femaleheadchargen.triextension = actors\character\skykids\eyesfemalechargen.tri, nuska\eyesfemalechargen.triextension = actors\character\skykids\faceparts\eyesfemaleleftchargen.tri, nuska\faceparts\eyesfemaleleftchargen.triextension = actors\character\skykids\faceparts\eyesfemalerightchargen.tri, nuska\faceparts\eyesfemalerightchargen.triextension = actors\character\skykids\mouth\mouthhumanfchargen.tri, nuska\mouth\mouthhumanfchargen.tri.triextension = actors\character\skykids\faceparts\femaleheadbrowschargen.tri, nuska\faceparts\femaleheadbrowschargen.triextension = actors\character\skykids\faceparts\femaleheadmaskleftsidechargen.tri, nuska\faceparts\femaleheadmaskleftsidechargen.triextension = actors\character\skykids\faceparts\femaleheadmaskrightsidechargen.tri, nuska\faceparts\femaleheadmaskrightsidechargen.tri extension = actors\character\skykids\maleheadcustomizations.tri, nuska\femaleheadchargen.triextension = actors\character\skykids\eyesmalechargen.tri, nuska\eyesfemalechargen.triextension = actors\character\skykids\faceparts\eyesmaleleftchargen.tri, nuska\faceparts\eyesfemaleleftchargen.triextension = actors\character\skykids\faceparts\eyesmalerightchargen.tri, nuska\faceparts\eyesfemalerightchargen.triextension = actors\character\skykids\mouth\mouthhumanchargen.tri, nuska\mouth\mouthhumanfchargen.tri.triextension = actors\character\skykids\faceparts\maleheadbrowschargen.tri, nuska\faceparts\femaleheadbrowschargen.triextension = actors\character\skykids\faceparts\maleheadmaskleftsidechargen.tri, nuska\faceparts\femaleheadmaskleftsidechargen.triextension = actors\character\skykids\faceparts\maleheadmaskrightsidechargen.tri, nuska\faceparts\femaleheadmaskrightsidechargen.tri Voila! CGE Nuska morphs will now work on Skykids! I haven't tried the ECE morphs yet, but I will tonight. As for ECE itself, yes, it's very intrusive. Overwrites a lot of vanilla resources which potentially impacts a lot of other mods. That's something 'hawk is working very hard to avoid doing with Skykids. To remake Skykids with ECE morphs would mean converting to use ECE assets, which would also require everyone to install ECE. Basically it would mean to use Skykids you'd have to alter your entire game, you'd have no choice. The hope is that CharGen plus the extra morphs will give much the same functionality without stomping all over the rest of your game. Should clarify and say that the Nuska morphs only work on the races that use the human morphs, so everything except khajiit and argonian. The custom SK races (monli and drow) are not in these INI files. I don't know if the Drow use these morphs or not, same with monli. 'hawk may have some input here, or you could probably just add their race to the INI and see what happens. PS: For anyone that wants to try my beta followers, here's the link: MEGA - 153 KB. They are both in the Sleeping Giant Inn, in Riverwood. One is an archer (Kaitlynn), the other a 1H heavy armor tank (Kierstynn) - also look for the shield. They are still a work in progress but should be fine functionally and should have the basic follower dialog. They are not custom voiced, so you will likely need subtitles on if you want to see what they're yammering on about. They will however make some combat noises, and like to hum when bored.

I've attached a screen shot of what I was doing while testing that had me laughing so hard I was in tears. derp.jpg Similar process as the nuska morphs above, have to edit the two INI files, but this time in \data\meshes\actors\character\FaceGenMorphs\CharGen ECE Morphs.esp Make sure you download the CharGen ECE morphs package first, and enable that ESP! morphs.ini (add to section before # beards) # SKfemale extension = actors\character\skykids\femaleheadchargen.tri, ece\CME_HeadFemale.tri, ece\ECEHeadFemale.tri, ece\RANs_HeadFemale.tri extension = actors\character\skykids\eyesfemalechargen.tri, ece\CME_EyesFemale.tri, ece\ECEEyesFemale.tri, ece\RANs_EyesFemale.tri extension = actors\character\skykids\faceparts\eyesfemaleleftchargen.tri, ece\CME_EyesFemaleLeft.tri, ece\ECEEyesFemaleLeft.tri, ece\RANs_EyesFemaleLeft.tri extension = actors\character\skykids\faceparts\eyesfemalerightchargen.tri, ece\CME_EyesFemaleRight.tri, ece\ECEEyesFemaleRight.tri, ece\RANs_EyesFemaleRight.tri extension = actors\character\skykids\mouth\mouthhumanfchargen.tri, ece\CME_MouthhumanFemale.tri, ece\ECEMouthhumanFemale.tri, ece\RANs_MouthhumanFemale.tri extension = actors\character\skykids\faceparts\femaleheadbrowschargen.tri, ece\CME_HeadbrowsFemale.tri, ece\ECEHeadbrowsFemale.tri, ece\RANs_HeadbrowsFemale.tri extension = actors\character\skykids\faceparts\femaleheadmaskleftsidechargen.tri, ece\CME_HeadmaskFemaleLeft.tri, ece\ECEHeadmaskFemaleLeft.tri, ece\RANs_HeadmaskFemaleLeft.tri extension = actors\character\skykids\faceparts\femaleheadmaskrightsidechargen.tri, ece\CME_HeadmaskFemaleRight.tri, ece\ECEHeadmaskFemaleRight.tri, ece\RANs_HeadmaskFemaleRight.tri # SKmale extension = actors\character\skykids\maleheadcustomizations.tri, ece\CME_HeadFemale.tri, ece\ECEHeadFemale.tri, ece\RANs_HeadFemale.tri extension = actors\character\skykids\eyesmalechargen.tri, ece\CME_EyesFemale.tri, ece\ECEEyesFemale.tri, ece\RANs_EyesFemale.tri extension = actors\character\skykids\faceparts\eyesmaleleftchargen.tri, ece\CME_EyesFemaleLeft.tri, ece\ECEEyesFemaleLeft.tri, ece\RANs_EyesFemaleLeft.tri extension = actors\character\skykids\faceparts\eyesmalerightchargen.tri, ece\CME_EyesFemaleRight.tri, ece\ECEEyesFemaleRight.tri, ece\RANs_EyesFemaleRight.tri extension = actors\character\skykids\mouth\mouthhumanchargen.tri, ece\CME_MouthhumanFemale.tri, ece\ECEMouthhumanFemale.tri, ece\RANs_MouthhumanFemale.tri extension = actors\character\skykids\faceparts\maleheadbrowschargen.tri, ece\CME_HeadbrowsFemale.tri, ece\ECEHeadbrowsFemale.tri, ece\RANs_HeadbrowsFemale.tri extension = actors\character\skykids\faceparts\maleheadmaskleftsidechargen.tri, ece\CME_HeadmaskFemaleLeft.tri, ece\ECEHeadmaskFemaleLeft.tri, ece\RANs_HeadmaskFemaleLeft.tri extension = actors\character\skykids\faceparts\maleheadmaskrightsidechargen.tri, ece\CME_HeadmaskFemaleRight.tri, ece\ECEHeadmaskFemaleRight.tri, ece\RANs_HeadmaskFemaleRight.tri races.ini (exact same as the first one I posted, you can replace the contents) # Determines what sliders are available for the particular race NordRace = sliders\human.ini NordRaceVampire = sliders\human.ini ChildNordRace = sliders\human.ini ChildNordRaceVampire = sliders\human.ini ImperialRace = sliders\human.ini ImperialRaceVampire = sliders\human.ini ChildImperialRace = sliders\human.ini ChildImperialRaceVampire = sliders\human.ini BretonRace = sliders\human.ini BretonRaceVampire = sliders\human.ini ChildBretonRace = sliders\human.ini ChildBretonRaceVampire = sliders\human.ini RedguardRace = sliders\human.ini RedguardRaceVampire = sliders\human.ini ChildRedguardRace = sliders\human.ini ChildRedguardRaceVampire = sliders\human.ini OrcRace = sliders\human.ini OrcRaceVampire = sliders\human.ini ChildOrcRace = sliders\human.ini ChildOrcRaceVampire = sliders\human.ini DarkElfRace = sliders\human.ini DarkElfRaceVampire = sliders\human.ini ChildDarkElfRace = sliders\human.ini ChildDarkElfRaceVampire = sliders\human.ini HighElfRace = sliders\human.ini HighElfRaceVampire = sliders\human.ini CHildHighElfRace = sliders\human.ini ChildHighElfRaceVampire = sliders\human.ini WoodElfRace = sliders\human.ini WoodElfRaceVampire = sliders\human.ini ChildWoodElfRace = sliders\human.ini ChildWoodElfRaceVampire = sliders\human.ini Beware, you're making yourself a tester by trying this stuff. JerWA Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 Aria, The ECE morphs I'm talking about are for CGE, no ECE required. Just add the download from the CGE optional downloads and do the INI edits. You get many more options than nuska, additional not replacing (e.g. you get both sets of options). It should give you the exact same, or very close anyways, options you had from ECE. if you want the nice interface get RaceMenu (do not activate the plugin). Sorry, thought you had it already. That will also let you set skin and hair color to any color you want (literally any color). Want a neon green elf or a midnight blue bosmer? Done deal! hehe Edit: Also, you shouldn't do your armor the way you are. Install the default mod as normal, then put your new SK meshes in the matching path rooted in \data\meshes\skykids-armorswap\child\armor (for this one probably \Alyn_Shir ?) and then re-run the armor patcher. Then the adults should have the correct mesh and the Skykids their own mesh. No conflict (and no new item record, same items in game just patches the correct appearance). RadioSilence, Depends on what resources they are based on. The morphs are all meant for vanilla human morphs, which everything but the beast races use. Given the custom nature of both the drow and the monli I don't know that they'd be compatible with this stuff. 'hawk may be able to speak more towards what may or may not be morph compatible. All I can do is try it. Gimme a bit, I'll see if it blows up (I suspect it will).

As for the armor, well im still somewhat confused how to use the patchers and since alyn shir armor doesnt replace anything in the world because its an original no npc's will use it. Im going to try to figure out how to patch it ofcourse.
JerWA Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 RadioSilence, Good news and bad. The Drow race is mostly compatible with the ECE morphs. The Monli not at all (though the effect is pretty amusing). Download CGE as linked above, and the ECE morphs optional download from the same mod page (not ECE itself). You'll likely also want RaceMenu if you don't have it already (and like I said above do not install the optional plugin for it). Install CGE and the optional ECE morphs, make sure you activate the ESPs and sort your load order again. Then edit \data\meshes\actors\character\FaceGenMorphs\CharGen ECE Morphs.esp morphs.ini (add this anywhere above # beards): # SKDrowextension = actors\character\skykids-drow\femaleheadchargen.tri, ece\CME_HeadFemale.tri, ece\ECEHeadFemale.tri, ece\RANs_HeadFemale.triextension = actors\character\skykids-drow\eyesfemalechargen.tri, ece\CME_EyesFemale.tri, ece\ECEEyesFemale.tri, ece\RANs_EyesFemale.triextension = actors\character\skykids-drow\mouth\mouthhumanfchargen.tri, ece\CME_MouthhumanFemale.tri, ece\ECEMouthhumanFemale.tri, ece\RANs_MouthhumanFemale.triextension = actors\character\skykids-drow\faceparts\femaleheadbrowschargen.tri, ece\CME_HeadbrowsFemale.tri, ece\ECEHeadbrowsFemale.tri, ece\RANs_HeadbrowsFemale.tri races.ini (add this anywhere): DrowChildRace = sliders\human.iniDrowChildRaceVampire = sliders\human.ini
Aria Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 Just successfully converted the new Eldrids armor mashup So far i have arround 13 armor's converted, just need to fix some clipping.
RadioSilence Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 The Drow child can't become a Vampire, so is that line even needed? Just successfully converted the new Eldrids armor mashup So far i have arround 13 armor's converted, just need to fix some clipping. That is nice... I really like that outfit. ---------------------------- On another note... I am getting a problem with my 3rd person camera with this new update... When I shoot with a bow, the arrow is down and to the right... I'll look over my stuff again... something changed. Edit: Racemenuplugin.esp turned on again... meh... fixed

RadioSilence Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 The Drow child can't become a Vampire, so is that line even needed? @JerWa Thanks! @RadioSilence Thanks! My drow vampire child says you are wrong though, we can become vampires I thought the Drow children were immune to diseases, thus could not become vampires... at least that is what the parent mod said. Thank you for correcting me~
Aria Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 @RadioSilence No no you are correct they are immune, but if you choose to you can become vampire...in dawnguard when lord Hakon asks you if you want to become one, the bite will turn you, or you can use Alternate Life mod wich gives you the option to start as a vampire. The only thing you have to make sure is to install the race compatipility patch mod as last and it will work flawlessly, i have tested it for several hours.
kayturner Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 Also, anyone wants to try out my conversion of alyn shir armor? The original armor that is needed, can be found here : http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/23790/?tab=2&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Fskyrim%2Fajax%2Fmodfiles%2F%3Fid%3D23790&pUp=1 Just put the meshes into your data folder, overwritting everything. I tried it out a little too lewd for personal taste when playing my skykids. Here is the pic.
