Where's all the Lewd Skintight Clothing?

I must admit that i am deeply disturbed and saddened by the fact that there are no skintight latex-like spacesuits available yet.

I am to grudgingly put playing Starfield on hold until i can play it with some standard outfit mods required for full enjoyment of any and all Beth games.

*sigh...

Is the CK even out yet?

It has struck me how prudish the vanilla apparel outfits are tbh. The most I've seen is bare shoulders or a bit of ankle. Its like they're actively going out of their way to distance themselves from modding community. Its not even reflective of modern clothing acceptable standards - crop tops/knee length skirts etc.

Or they are leaving that option open as they know the Modding community will do the work for them...

At the very least the outfits (not the space suits) should have been a bit more... realistic? Unless Bethesda is trying to imply that the 26th century is dominated by puritans lol. The general progression of clothing style over time has been to become more and more skimpy and casual. Starfield feels like they went the other direction. I have to believe this was some sort of legal/PR reasoning rather than any actual design choice.

Plenty of games going that route these days. Probably to avoid people getting angry about sexualizing/objectifying since it's hip to be against that these days. I've seen people complain about objectification in games that only had one outfit that showed a little skin.

Sure, everyone running around in skintight suits and bikini armor isn't realistic, but neither is literally nobody doing it. You're telling me not a single person in the future is going to be working on a ship in a tank top and non-baggy jeans? Or that nobody in Neon, a crime and drug ridden haven with a literal dancer club, would be willing to show a belly button? Please.

The game has tank tops (or, really, sleeveless tee-shirts).

I was rather disappointed that Neon streetwears are not skin-tight. C'mon, the city just screams cyberpunk.

I think I saw from Fallout mod about some kind of vinyl skintight jumpsuit with zippers on crotch. Honestly, that kind of clothes would fit right in the Astral Lounge.

Either that or you go full Taimanin sh*t on the whole clothes.

For anyone stumbling over this thread, there's Super Tight Body Suit - Latex at Starfield Nexus - Mods and Community (nexusmods.com) and I imagine before too long we'll have similar options.

(I think I would like a Sari which was not draped over a shirt and pants. But I would also like a force field space suit - something which was actively projected around the player's body and maybe looked like 2077 "holographic gear". Perhaps a total conversion of all space suits, to account for the incredibly short time they protect us from environmental hazards. Or perhaps with a greatly increased protection time for many hazards for physically solid space suits.)

Chances are they will start coming out when we, a) get a decent body to work with, and b) body slide appears so that it is worth while doing so, c) get some nice textures to go with said new body, the default body from what I have seen (i do not own the game), looks pretty meh.

I too would guess that it was a legal/PR decision. But I think it was probably a smart one for BGS to make. Sexy mods are pretty much inevitable, so users who want to add that kind of content can, but if SHTF over adult content BGS can shrug and say that they didn't make or encourage any of it,* but they aren't responsible for content made and distributed by 3rd parties.

This I think is also why BGS games ships with NPCs that look like they do. They don't want to catch shit when some neo-puritan parent finds out their 12 yr old son is getting off playing a game set in a universe full of h0t b4b3s in skintight catsuits.

Annoying maybe. But I'd rather BGS/M$ keep a safe distance from the modding scene than have them decide that they are responsible for policing mod content, which would kill the game.

I mean... The game is already rated M, so while those could still be reasons BGS made internally, I think they are super lame and unnecessary. Ah well. Modders to the rescue!
