Jerbsinator Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 The other thread is your most memorable, I wanna know what is your FAVORITE. SO, what is your favorite pc game from your childhood? Mine was Warzone 2100, I played the demo for it and couldn't get enough of it, then one day my dad walked up to me and handed me the retail copy. I shit my pants. Best strategy game I have ever played, it's still better than most IMO. Hard as hell sometimes to, don't know how I beat it as a kid but I did. You can download it as shareware now and it runs great. I definitely recommend every RTS lover to try this game. It's better than Starcraft IMO.
gregathit Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 The other thread is your most memorable, I wanna know what is your FAVORITE. SO, what is your favorite pc game from your childhood? Mine was Warzone 2100..........snip...... Yes, Warzone 2100 was indeed a very well put together game. It was the perfect mix of defensive vs offensive strategies. It is sad that the game did not get as much expose as it deserved, which is why it never got a sequel. While I was far from being a child, this was indeed "one" of my favorites. A game that came close to matching it was called "machines". Machines was no where near as in depth, but it wasn't a bad attempt either. Machines wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Machines_(video_game) HOWEVER, the favorite and first PC game I bought (which I bought my first PC just to play it) was Command and Conquer. That game had me so hooked it was pathetic! Prior to C & C I played games exclusively on consoles. I blame that damn game for my slide into PC gaming (and later modding) addiction !!!!
Smokermegadrive Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 That's a good question i liked a lot of games when i was childI think is Age of Empires II, because i had played this more than others gamesEven in this day i think this game is one of the greatest RTS of all timesMention to: Sega Rally Championship, The Sims, Daytona Usa Deluxe, Virtua Cop,Rayman Gold, Croc 2, Raiden II and Carmen Sandiego
Carida Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 PC game? .... ok so I'm telling my age. My favorite game from childhood would be Mario Brothers on the original nintendo OH OH! I almost forgot! DUCKHUNT! Ahh that was awesome... Though I can say my first computer game was Age of Empires. It was fun -C
Kaz Aanh Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 Krush Kill 'n Destroy Crossfire my fav game so far. I've started playing it when it was on psx, later I got it on PC. And I couldn't forget about Warcraft 3 , amazing game with great custom maps ( Kodo tag \o/ ).
Tepi Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 Werewolf vs Comanche 2.0. One of my first, if not first, retail games on PC. I played that game for weeks without touching another game. Damn, now I feel like downloading it from somewhere.
YumiChan19 Posted October 8, 2013 Posted October 8, 2013 childhood favorite was Commander Keen and the old platformer/side scrolling duke nukems
Pkatt Posted October 8, 2013 Posted October 8, 2013 From my childhood!?? LOL, I don't think they had computers when I was a kid! I got an Atari 2600 when I was in high school, and then saw my first real computer when I went to college. Sooo, from my early days of gaming, my favorite one to date is Command HQ. One of the first, and in my opinion still the best RTS's. The original Carmeggedon would rank a very close second.
Kpnut Posted October 8, 2013 Posted October 8, 2013 I have to say either Age of Mythology or Rome Total War (depending on what you'd class as "childhood" since I started playing Rome at the age of 12.)
TheOrthodoxCaveman Posted October 8, 2013 Posted October 8, 2013 Super Robin Hood for Pegasus/NES I was playing this game so hard my first console burned.
Cynical Misanthrope Posted October 8, 2013 Posted October 8, 2013 My favorite game from childhood was the first Alien Vs Predator game. (and tbh, still is ) Playing as a Preator, I felt like an ruthless killing machine - FUN! Playing as a Marine - Shit my pants! And alien... Cannon Fodder - Sucked!
Dmouse52 Posted October 8, 2013 Posted October 8, 2013 well not childhood but early 30's space hulk and steel empire

How can someone NOT like C&C? I loved Tiberian Sun myself
Sarnaath Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 I used to love Carmeggedon. But my favorite early PC game was Thief: The Dark Project. I was not much into consoles (Atari and Nintendo) as a kid. Dark Forces got me hooked on PC gaming.
Ailsa Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 My first pc game was Ultima Underworld : The Stygian Abyss which came on 5 inch floppy discs. I had great fun with it. PC's were not around in my childhood.
akroma3310 Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 This is a hard one, and I'm going to take the easy route and declare two winners: Nox and Diablo II.
Sparlimb Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 Pirates! (original and v2), Age of Empires, Age of Mythology. Still plug-in AoM every now and then. edit: Ha! Forgot about Diablo.
cartixio Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 Close combat 3: the russian frontpretty great strategy gamei just wished the future release of the franchise were as enjoyable, sadly they were not >_>
sora3 Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 If I had to dig out every single game and choose a winner, it would have been Pong but since people have listed other games I've played, probably will revise it. If we had to go on games that get constantly replayed, then TF2 takes the cake.
LordJerle Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 Easily Duke Nukem 3D. Still play it now and then. On a side note, why is everybody listing console games on a PC game thread?
Jerbsinator Posted October 23, 2013 Author Posted October 23, 2013 LordJerle makes a point. I'm asking your favorite PC game from your childhood, NOT console games. There is already a thread for that I believe. Also TF2 is a modern game....lol.
