Skin turns extremely reflective in light and very dark in the shadows. the skin texture I use is basically gone. Bug persists over every char savefile.

They may be textures not compatible with the body. ES: CBBE texture on a UNP body or backwards.

I copied the head from seranaholic and made a preset out of it. Its the cbbe version not unp.

Leaving aside the fact that the description of the problem you gave is not reflected in the image, what you have there is a problem with the skin texture being used by the head and the texture being used by the body. You may also want to check the hands and feet while naked.

Either the body textures and the head textures are using two different skin textures or the body textures are missing one or more files.

If u use vortex, try going up to any body texture mod you use, see if something conflicting with it by clicking the "manage file conflicts" and make sure nothing is overriding the mod. If yes, try and disable the mod that's cone rules so that nothing overrides it.

I would compare the shader properties of the body mesh and the head mesh (vertexcolors, glossines, specular etc.) and the shader flags
Also check if the textures have mipmaps.

I think ENB is active. Check the specular and SSS values there. Open ENB in game with SHIFT+ENTER (default)

Do you happen to have a mod that changes body's Normalmap in-game? One of the examples for such mods that I can think of is Pregnancy Normalmap swapper on LL. If you head on to the mod's support page, you'll see issues similar to yours.
If you do have such mods, and you happened to make a character preset when their effects are kicking in, you'll see the same issue happening to other characters from different saves

Looks like Pregnancy Normalmap swapper  was the problem. Thanks a lot.
