The thing is we have to accept a sad reality, the game itself is not that popular as other gacha games out there and therefore even paid mods for this is "unprofitable", how do I know?, you see, I like AlongCN's mods/body models more, and xHorsen's in a close 2nd, do you know what are they doing?, xHorsen currently is modding other games and the most "visible" one is stellar blade where he pretty much stole the spotlight to the "best nude model" as it's been used ALOT, AlongCN have some snowbreak mods paywalled that are recent, but pretty much foccused on other things (going by his patreon, wich I'm only following but not pledged). TL;DR exposure is a true statement yes, but the thing is the game's popularity is also driving the profiting moders away. 2
Chaliandra Posted August 20, 2025 Posted August 20, 2025 (edited) A lot of modders are also solely distributing on discord now. They still require you to make a transaction through Ko-fi or patreon, but then you have to join their discord server, link up your patreon account, then they have to generate a modfile specifically for you. I know its anti piracy and they are trying to stop sharing, But i'm already terminally online as it is and I dont need another 10+ discord servers to sift through for mods. Plus all these extra steps just to get a single nudy skin mod is just too cumbersome and annoying. Here is some advice to all the modders that do this dumbass shit: Sell your stuff on patreon or Ko-fi, quit forcing people to join your shitty discord server. Edited August 20, 2025 by Chaliandra 5
crashcity Posted August 21, 2025 Posted August 21, 2025 Yeah mods broken again I guess take out the mods folder and test to see what works while we wait for updates 2
Sumera Posted August 21, 2025 Posted August 21, 2025 No way, not again... The moment I saw this thread comes up on update day, I knew something bad had happened. 2
pahlawankeren Posted August 21, 2025 Posted August 21, 2025 this is so sad man,,, its only a visual mod why do they have to be so stingy about it? We dont even hack the game we just want to have fun with the waifus. At least let us mod it like the visual mod on skyrim, seasun already losing the playerbase 1
OnIy Posted August 21, 2025 Posted August 21, 2025 It may be an issue with Snow \ data \ game \ Game \ Content \ PakCommand.txt, as it is not present in version 3.0. I try to delete or modify the content inside, but when I start the client, it prompts that the content needs to be updated. The file looks like a key, but I don't understand.
XPUC Posted August 22, 2025 Posted August 22, 2025 No way to apply mods now until someone can figure out a work around, since it looks like the devs blocked the game from reading mod files, but with how dead this game modding scene is, this is pretty much a death sentence. What a shame. 2
Tahlreth Posted August 22, 2025 Posted August 22, 2025 Rename "~mods" folder to "mods" to get UI and 2d mods to work. 3d has other issues.
nandio24 Posted August 22, 2025 Posted August 22, 2025 It doesn't work at all, I've tried changing the file name, but it still doesn't work.
Tahlreth Posted August 22, 2025 Posted August 22, 2025 For me, only texture mods (and for some reason, two animation mods) are still working. All my costume stuff is broken.
Nyandred Posted August 22, 2025 Posted August 22, 2025 Seasun blocked the "~mods" or any similar to it. move all your mods directly to the "paks" folder where the game files are located.
MarcusKaos11 Posted August 23, 2025 Posted August 23, 2025 Hi. I don't know how to create mods, but I think there's someone out there who can create an external mod manager so you can choose to play with or without mods. It's like the mod manager I use for Genshin Impact. I hope someone can figure it out and find a solution. We don't actually modify the game or the story, just the character skins.
xcrunner15 Posted August 23, 2025 Posted August 23, 2025 You can put mods in %LOCALAPPDATA%/Game/Saved/Paks or put them in your game directory Saved folder (e.g. SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\SNOWBREAK\Game\Saved\Paks) which requires you use the commandline -NotInstalled -fileopenlog -NotInstalled (not actually sure if fileopenlog is needed) This will load them but then there is a crash with a serialization error. I think it should be a simple but somewhat tedious matter of unpacking and repacking but I doubt they've done anything else to fuck with it
PartyBoy1979 Posted August 23, 2025 Posted August 23, 2025 It seems that the problem with loading mods is quite serious. I played this game because of the mods, but I haven't been able to find any solution to reload them. I think it's time to bury this game 😢😢😢. 2
