Some people collect free mods and package them for sale, and once the author discovers it, they can only delete the free mods. Some people don't know how to find them, and the easiest way is to buy them.

What I don't get about it is if the author removes the free version, then the only way to get the mod is to buy it from the scammer. It's not like deleting the free mod removes the scammer's copy. If anything, it probably drives traffic to them and makes them more money.

Some dorm mods broke with this new update, specifically the little naughty ones by MutsukiAlbino from nexus

 

edit: was getting crashes entering the new bar area with just using the girls that weren't T posing so I got rid of all the mods for the dorm including the animation ones, everything seems to work fine now just have to wait for mod updates I guess

they updated characters skeleton rendering existing dorm mods to be broken T posing. modder require to make a new one using latest skeleton model

Well, that's kind of easy to explain, there are mostly just two modders that release public works left, the rest has moved to paywalled mod distribution and even then more people defending the practice even in sharing sites, added to the lack of interest in the game (as I can tell by the moding discord).

 

About the sharing thing, honestly I'm not planing on discussing it further, it's a clusterfuck of opinions and I don't want to deal with that right now, all I want to say is that it is part of why the moding scene of this game has dwindled to this point.

sad thing is its a double edged sword you need the attention to get paid in this economy. ive honestly never seen anyone but a single modder make acceptable mods
