hakiraphem Posted August 24, 2025 Posted August 24, 2025 Putting a mod restriction on top of an already niche game wasnt a wise move from the dev, especially when the mods basically just cosmetics. Lets be real compared to the competition this game is as good as dead, furthermore considering more and more title coming up. 7

Vanysh Posted August 24, 2025 Posted August 24, 2025 I will probably drop this game too without mods.Ā 4
crashcity Posted August 24, 2025 Posted August 24, 2025 (edited) if the devs put a stop to modding then it's up to the chinese side to make them change their decisionĀ from what I've seenĀ from following this game is that they're the only ones that get the devs to change thingsĀ oh wellĀ Edited August 24, 2025 by crashcity
XPUC Posted August 24, 2025 Posted August 24, 2025 Sadly this game is niche with a small playerbase, and even smaller population of mod users. there are 150+ discussion posts in Nexus and most of the CN players over there already adapted wait and see tactic, and ready to sell their accounts and quit the game if this problem isn't solved. I assumed their deadline would be the release of next patch. Ā 4
Saw Yuuki Posted August 25, 2025 Posted August 25, 2025 i play this game the first day but quit cause it boring af, girls model not so good too. After knowing about this game has mods i play again until today. Devs put a stopĀ to modding maybe to sell the skins. The mods is only thing keep this game alive. Im gonna wait to next update then, maybe it the time to find a new game to play 5
avasan Posted August 25, 2025 Posted August 25, 2025 Not really happy with what they do to their own CC and now they restricting mod. I will wait till next patch if mod situation stay like this time to say goodbye to Snowbreak. 1

crashcity Posted August 26, 2025 Posted August 26, 2025 looks like so far no one has figured out how to add mods into the game again sucks that the devs did this since the modding scene was so small and most of them were just for the paid skinsĀ
MarcusKaos11 Posted August 27, 2025 Posted August 27, 2025 Exactly!!! I used to buy skins for that, and also for 2D and 3D animations. Now many will be wondering whether it's worth buying the skins or not.

I didn't know many mods from Patreon and Discord etc, but most of the mods were made on paid skins, which also brought profits for the develops. And on my personal understanding if people willing to pay on Patreon and Discord, they will highly possible buy the paid skins as well, which benefits the both sides. 3
warpedperceptions Posted August 27, 2025 Posted August 27, 2025 A fix has been found, MutsukiAlbino already has a mod for the new Yao skin uploaded and Bigboobsenthusiast update their wedding Tess mod on nexus.

Yeah, there are new mods being created, but no one is going to go back and repair all the old ones. LYJ said he'll repair his mods, but so many of my mods are from other people and they'll never be usable again.... this game was taking up too much of my time anyway. This is a good sign to retire it. 2
PiPiOwO Posted August 27, 2025 Posted August 27, 2025 Sadly,Snowbreak is not SeaSun's primary source of revenue.Even if mods were affecting Snowbreak's earnings, devs would have little incentive to fix the problem, especially since things have been a mess for them lately. What puzzles me is whether devs want to kill mods, but creators found a workaround or merely an unintentional update that broke mods. After all, simply renaming the "~mods" folder to "mods" allows the game to read the files (though older mods still donāt work). This puzzles me.

Currently users can/have to go through the modding tools to fix mods if the creators had stopped updating. While I think this fix can be easily broken again if the devs want to block modding in the next patch.
jimkage Posted August 27, 2025 Posted August 27, 2025 Anyone got that new yao mod to work ? I changed ~mods to mods but its still not working for meĀ
