Does the Usurpation of Charmed Vassals War count toward the subservient war objective?

It counts for domination war, but not for Magistri rebellions.

I really like the Sanctifica Serva feature, but the cosmetic changes are pretty terrifying.  Would it be possible to add a Game Rule toggle for the cosmetic effects?

I think there already is? At least I have that option in my game rules.

The option is all or nothing, though.  I like the changes for everything except those from Sanctifica Serva (One with the Book) but it's not possible to cherry-pick that one.

The eye changes are great.  I just feel that One with the Book creates terrifyingly inhuman appearances that would likely trigger very negative reactions from people.

Until the latest version of RM I did have the option of changing people's eyes in the barbershop individually, but I´m not sure why that is not possible anymore.

So I've looked into the culture section in the character creation and noticed that the Magistri culture. How does one form that in the game? Or do I just nab that in character creator?

Don't choose the culture or religion to start. When you are creating a character, you can "test" the religion to see what virtues it likes, but switch back to the normal region culture and religion before you finish.

Once you start the game, you'll have the decision to "buy a mysterious book" for 50 gold.  Do that and show the book to 2 of your favorite ladies.  Don't rush into giving them land, because you'll need to be a duke at least, so they become your vassals and not your peers.

Once you Unleash the Keeper, you will get to choose which Magister regional culture you wish to be, and your lands will instantly convert to that, as will the ladies and their lands.

Hi Ban10, I've been using with your mod for about a month now, and I'm really having fun with it :). I did wonder if you could increase the number of Ladies In Waiting positions, maybe to 10 or 15 (?), for plaexec who have been deposed by a liege, or heirs in waiting that you marry before they rule, and remove the -5 opinion modifier. Just a suggestion, love the mod thanks ?.

That is just a quick way to get the two main Magistri traits into a culture if you want it from the start. However you can start with any culture you want and then add these traits through cultural reform later on after you become Magistri.

What is the status of getting this to work with total overhaul mods like the GOT mod, the Ireland one, Japan, or the LOTR one?

I'm not sure about the other mods but this worked with the GOT mod when I was playing around with it so it should work for the others. There was an option added for selecting no holy sites to let you have the extra powers like infecta and charmed vassals being able to use Fascinare. You just don't get the stat bonuses from having holy sites.

Thanks this wasn't an option before and I guess this should fix it.

I've split the goddess cosmetic change as a game rule now,

I defiantly would like to improve the Goddess portraits to make them very otherworldly/inhuman while remaining beautiful and elegant, but its still a WIP.

I removed this when refactoring the portrait modifiers (for revealing clothing with CBO) as the eyes are tied to traits (Mulsa/Paelex/Domina/Contubernalis). Did you use this to give custom eyes to people with different traits? I could probably find and revert the commit where I removed this from the barbershop, as its not a big deal if someone wants to overwrite them, I just thought it was confusing to have as an option to change in the barbershop.

Just a fun quick start culture that I think fits the themes of the mod and has all Regula cultural traditions setup, totally up to you on using it.
The religion on the other hand is initialised via the book as the start event, so don't start as the religion.

Not sure I fully understand this, you want paelex to have 10-15 lady in waiting court positions? Surely thats a bit much!

As mentioned above, the special holy site option that currently exists (Nomads) should be a nice way to get this mod going atm on other world maps, until I or someone else gets the time to build a nice set of holy sites. If anyone is up for it you should be able to build out a new option based on the stuff in the mod, happy to review anyone who does so and makes a merge request.

So errr, does this mod have problems with say Rajas of Asia? This is because I am playing as a Han character and I noticed some of the chinese characters have weird skin colours. Some are red, some are purple, others are green, etc etc. So far no massive game breaking problems but feels weird seeing rainbow skins.

Delete "Regula_Magistri\gfx\portraits\skin_palette.dds"
Its the skin texture with a stripe of colours in it, for use with exotic goddess skins, but sometimes this means that they get used for normal characters
Hopefully I can find a way to get non-human skin colours without having to overwrite the normal skin texture one day

If it's possible to add events to vanilla activities, I'd like to suggest a few events to add.

Drunken Indiscretion: During a feast at any time
A woman gets a little too deep into the alcohol and takes a liking to you. If you aren't the Master, you get two options.
1) You lay with the woman (-50 piety, stress gain if chaste/stress loss if lustful, chance to become lovers)
2) You politely escort her to her chambers (+50 piety, stress loss if chaste/stress gain if lustful, chance to gain opinion with the woman and her husband if she has one)
If you're the Master a third option appears
3) Use her vulnerability to ensnare her mind after laying with her (+50 piety, stress gain if chaste/stress loss if lustful, woman gains mulsa, definitely become lovers)

Alone in the woods: During a hunt while you're the Master
This one is pretty high fantasy, but you use illusion magic to lure a woman off with you away from the party and ensnare her.
It starts off with some boiler-plate stuff like
"During your time in <<Hunt Location>> you've been testing how vulnerable the woman in the hunting party are to illusion magic. <<Target Woman>> has been particularly vulnerable, looking at various flowers and other objects for a particularly long time and when asked about them describing them as the illusory version without hesitation.

The party is splitting up to cover more ground while searching for game and shouldn't be regrouping for some time. It would be trivial to lure <<Target Woman>> to a secluded spot in order to ensnare her."
With two options
1) Ensnare her and have your way with her (You lay with <<target woman>>, target woman gains mulsa, hunt success chance decreases, minor stress gain with hunter trait)
2) Let her go, there is game to be hunted (Hunt success chance increases, minor stress loss with hunter trait)

Pink Wedding: A chance to be the final capstone event at a normal Grand Wedding
The Grand Wedding that you had planned was actually a secret Regula Ritual and it's ready to be put into action.
You have two options here:
Now for the finishing touches (Spend a large amount of piety, all guests convert to Regula, all female guests gain the mulsa trait, all female guests with any of the devoted traits gain 200 piety)
It's time to party (Gain a large amount of piety, gain 5 opinion with all guests, massive stress loss with eager reveler or gregarious)

A Regula Pilgrim: Any Time
A woman of a random culture and the Regula religion with the mulsa trait appears at your court, offering herself to you as the Master. The idea is that other people had the book before you and left women that ensnared their daughters around the world.
1) Accept the woman's pledge of fealty and have your way with her (She joins your court, you gain a strong hook on her, you lay with her)
2) Tell her she'll be more useful to you in other courts (She leaves your court, becomes a wanderer)

I'm willing to help write the events, and also willing to help code, but I have 0 idea how to actually code the events, or if it's even possible to add these events.I just think these events would be fun.

Great ideas!
Only problem is that I want to ensure compatibility, which would be difficult as having these events trigger for the other activities would mean editing their on_action event lists.
I would rather edit these to be Orgy events, to help ensure compatibility with other mods and the base game.
Feel free to fork the repo and write your own events, theres lots of examples in the files, if you write some ideas up I can help write the events to put them in the game, similar to how I did it for https://gitgud.io/ban10/regula-magistri/-/merge_requests/54 (the events by Kupumatapokere)

The files Kipumatapokere created were from this merge https://gitgud.io/ban10/regula-magistri/-/merge_requests/53

Does this mean we won't have any "special" events for other activities? I sort of had a bunch of ideas, especially for pilgrimages.

Also I'm glad to see you liked my text and included it into the mod. On a scale of 1 to 5, how ok would it be if I could just keep writing text like that instead of learning to code the events completely? Does it take a lot of effort to convert them for you? Or should I spend some more time wrapping my head around the way the code works and do it fully on my own?

Haha, maybe a 3? I don't mind sitting down and converting event text to events, as I feel like the writing bit is harder then codifying it.
On the other hand, the slacking servants event had a lot of branchs so it took me a while to build, XD.
Honestly don't feel pressured either way, if you want the events to get into the mod faster then learning how to code them is the way to go.
I'm happy to write them myself but it just might take some time depending on my workload and other life stuff etc

It should just work, you can use the nomads holy site option (special one) to start without holy sites.
I haven't tried it myself but I don't see what would break, compatibility wise.

Hi Ban10, I appreciate your mod. I get much more fun after adding it to my game!!!

I met some problems with the new patch 2.6.1 content. The culture tradition "Famuli Enslavers" is still unavailable after I transfer to Regula religion.

I can't add it via culture reform, even though I have enough prestige. There is a exclamation mark showing that there is still some limit for adding it ,but I can't see anything about it.

I am sure I have become culture head already. Did I neglect anything?

I attach the picture for example to show what I saw in this situation. famuliupload.jpg.367203b0dfb4702656275e65646e8eee.jpg

Delete the file "Regula_Magistri\gfx\portraits\skin_palette.dds", its used for non-human skin colours within the mod but its being used by the asia mod for certain ethnic groups.

Hmmm, theres only two conditions for the tradition:

- You are part of the Regula faith (which you most likely are at this point)
- You have an "Enslaver" accolade knight, primary or secondary. You might not have one of these. I'll make an error message for this.
