Guest Posted April 7, 2023 Posted April 7, 2023 I'm looking for a mod that changes Serana's body to match the player's. Is there a mod that does this, because I can't find one anywhere. Also, I don't care if it's a mod that changes all NPCs to match the player. As long as it changes Serana, I'll be happy. I'm not wanting a full Serana replacer, as in changing her entire appearance. Just the body. I'm currently prepping for a vampire playthrough after having not played SSE for a while.
Alessia Wellington Posted April 7, 2023 Posted April 7, 2023 Just build a body in BodySlide using the same preset your player body uses.

I'm going to assume that you're referring to whether Serana is affected by Bodyslide or something like that. I don't have any mods that make it where my preset only works on my character. My preset affects all female NPCs. I think it has to do with her weight being different. I also have no idea of how to alter a character's files. I tried going through the game files, and couldn't find them. Again, I am trying to understand this, but when it comes to computers, a chimp would know more than me. I'm good with many things, but computers and how they work are not among them.

If I remember correctly, Serana uses a weight of 20. The fast way to get her body to match yours is to alter the body preset to use the same values for min/max weight. In BodySlide, there's an arrow on either side of the "Preview" button. Click on the one on the right and save the changes. Then build the body again.
Just Don't Posted April 7, 2023 Posted April 7, 2023 You can always google what Bodyslide is and how to use it. No need to find files manually or stuff like that.

Okaaayyyyy..... so back to basics.... NPC use mostly the system body, same as PC by default, unless you use some mod to separate PC from NPC or if you use a npc mod that uses a a different body. Anyway, you'll have to look into your mods to check this...(I tend to avoid this as it affects armors too, and they won't fit anymore.... big mess!) Back to the thing... So one body type for all, this is tweaked by adding body morph such a uunpb cbbe 3ba and so forth. For these body morph you have to rebuild the body meshes with bodyslide (or use the supllied body with it, if you like as it) This body replaces the vanilla one for all toons, NPC as PC. So.... Serana uses the common body, so the same as your PC, with additionnal setup such as weight (fatty or skinny) height (taller or shorter) and so on... These parameters are set in mods (ESM, ESP, ESL....) and can't be altered with bodyslide. To do that you need to modify the esp itself through xedit or creation kit (if you don't get what it is, that will be complicated). Doing so will modify serana permanently, if you restart a new game, your modification will be there. On a easier way to do it, console command (PC only) you can alter NPC basic parameters directly (weight, height and a few others, but it's limited). This will be saved in your gamesave but you'll lose all if restarting a new game. Also, playing directly with console command can break your toon, create texture mismatch, black face and such..... sooooooooo...... console commands: first, save you current game, so you can reload if you fuck it up.... open console when facing the npc you want to change select the npc (it should show its ID in the console (serana's ID: "xx002b74" code on the top of screen, xx can be 02, 03, 04, depending of your system build) enter the code "setnpcweight X" value from 0 (skinny) to 100 (full fatty) enter the code "setscale x.x" to modify the height, 0.1 (short, rabbit size) to 4 (tall, giant size). NPC uses from 0.8 to 1.2, mostly then tweak around what you like... and it's done.... I hope it helps a bit.... but.... that's not that simple, you need to learn how things work as results can turn messy

I know what Bodyslide is. I have preset mods that I made. And please, I beg you, do not ask me to Google something related to modding. Every time I Google something mod related, I get: 90% - Something completely unrelated to what I was searching. 7% - Someone's forum thread that was asking the same question with no answers. 2% - Something that seems like it will help, but doesn't. 1% - Something that actually helps. An example of this was when I was trying to learn about how to make a preset mod for Bodyslide. I Googled "How to make a preset mod for Bodyslide and Outfit Studio Skyrim SE". The only results I got were on how to make a preset or simply showing preset mods. Nothing on how to make them. Another example was when I tried figuring out how to fix clipping with outfits using BS&OS. Long story short, I got no help from Google and still have no idea how to fix clipping.

Just use BodySlide to build a body that matches your character's one. just build your body then copy created files to right folder, if you don't know where that is just download some serana replacement mod then replace there your custom body files

Also, I was wanting to avoid using replacers, because I like how Serana looks normally. However, I did figure it out. Thanks anyway.

I feel so fucking stupid for not knowing that it was just the press of a button. But, like I said to someone else, Google didn't help. I tried Googling how to do that, and no one said "There's an arrow next to 'Preview'. Press it". (sigh). At least, now I know. Now I just need to figure out why Bodyslide is acting like a prick. I've been having issues trying to load my personal preset. It keeps disappearing from the menu with the other presets.

That usually means the outfit is not compatible with the sliders selected in the preset. It mostly happens with older BS conversions that don't have these sliders implemented. That's a whole other rabbit hole to go down into.

Well, the part that's bothering me is that it's ALL of my outfits. The only thing that my preset shows up for is the CBBE 3BBB Body Amazing option. My outfits and stuff are still set to my preset after I built everything, which is weird, but my preset doesn't show up. No one has been complaining about my mod not working, here or Nexus, so I know that it's not the preset.

I wasn't trying to say that you were implying that it was the preset's fault. I was only saying that I was trying to determine the cause of what was going on, and that I don't think the preset is the issue. I downloaded the most recent version of 3BA on Nexus which is version 2.47. I, however, didn't convert my preset, My Real Body, to 3BA. That was someone else who offered to do it. I did ,however, convert my other preset, Gift of Dibella, to 3BA and it works fine. I just had an idea. Stand by, if you want.

I have good news and bad news. Good news is that I converted the preset myself, using the guide my friend gave me, and now the preset is working for 3BA outfits. The bad news is that I'm going to have to go through and get rid of many outfit mods that aren't 3BA compatible, which sucks because many of them are outfits I love.? Oh well. All victories come at a price.
