So, I run this mod along with a lot of other modded race compatibilities and such.  However, I also like to play the game casually, and I don't want to relocate all of those relevant mods in order to do so, so I just leave SxB Reborn and its various attachments running while I play as though they aren't there at all.  For the most part, this is perfectly fine - very rarely do I encounter anything sexual unintentionally that I can't have off the screen very quickly, but there is an exception:  the status icons for Horny, Pent Up, etc.  If you play for a while without dying, there's probably a penis or something at the top of your screen, regardless of whether you're doing anything related to the mod while playing, and I've occasionally had to be careful about keeping my inventory window on top of my statuses to prevent anyone who happened to get a glance at the screen from having a reason to go "hey.  What is that."

So, today, I had the thought: "I wonder how hard it would be to make a simple mod to replace those assets with something more subtle?"  It turns out it's very easy; I did it in like 20 minutes.  I made the heat effects just show the thermometer part of their icons, changed arousal icons to show a blue version of those, and made effects related to fertility show a classic green-spotted white egg with a relevant number of plus signs.

For me, this has solved that problem quite nicely, and I was thinking that there are probably other people using these mods - not many, but a few - that would like to have something similar available.  But, I've made use of some of the existing assets in my alterations, and I've made said alterations without asking around first.  So, I'm here to ask if I need to credit anyone specifically, and I suppose more broadly if I need permission to upload a patch to an existing mod like this one?  Would it be preferred if I made completely original assets?
 

 

The thermometer ones are alterations of the vanilla Starbound ones for hot and cold biomes (not sure if that is even still a mechanic in the game).

The arousal ahegao face I made myself based on a reference image.

The penis I feel like remembering was already floating around and I just edited it myself.

 

So if anyone the credit would go to me for making these versions, but they are just tiny icons so I don't really care too much.

 

And feel free to just post your own mod to edit those.

testing with a fleshlight, the UI shows up, there is dialogue, everything seems to work except my vanilla human char is just invisible.

Can't help you much with that alone, need the actual log file. The error you posted is normal and just means you don't have any POV mod installed.

Ok, slight confusion here.

A: Is the issue that your character is invisible in the sexnode or that you don't get the POV window in the bottom right to show up? The latter would be because you don't have POV Redux installed.

B: You are generating sextalk file issues but I don't see any mods installed that should mess with that. Do you have the latest version of SBR and have you installed it cleanly? (I.e. removed the old mod before putting in the new, not just copy folder over old folder)

My character's body is invisible. I have drawables hair and drawables custom emote, those show up but not the rest.

 

I am trying sexbound for the first time since yesterday, so its a fresh download so i assume it is latest version??? And i only installed this mod, beside this, i dont have a lot other mods because i mainly play on public servers. I downloaded the .pak file and put it in the game's mod folder, like the few other mods. The contents are there, i was able to go to lustia and use all the items and place all the objects. The only issue is just that my character wont show up. Beside this i havent got the chance to really explore much of this mod yet. Dont even know how to start sex with npc. Used that furnitures thingy where you place it onto a bed and laid down, char went invisible, only hair is showing, and thats it. Nothing more ever happened beyond that. Tested the fleshlight too, animation works, UI works, orgasm meter fills up, character talks, just invisible.

Your log says you don't have the .pak version, but that is irrelevant.
During the session of which you gave me the log file, have you interacted with a sexnode there?
Also in general, I need you to edit the "sexbound.config" file in the mod and, near the very bottom, set "showInfo" and "showDebug" in the logging options to "true" (without the quotation marks), then try again and send me a fresh log where you *do* interact with a sexnode.

Oh yeah right, i switched to the source file instead of the .pak file last night to see if the trouble came from that.

Ok, I am as confused as before. Nothing related to your mentioned issue seems wrong and the only thing that's wrong has nothing to do with it.

So I'mma just throw out any idea I possibly have.

First, try removing the "Full sprites for POV" mod. I really doubt this has anything to do with it, but it's a new mod I haven't seen before so if inexplicable things happen its worth trying out.

Removed. But i was having this issue since the very beginning when i only had the main mod itself.

Ok, now it works. Need to test if its bodydirective or hairdirective or emotedirective thats causing it or its all of them.

How adding more stuff to the directives would brick things - mostly, baby genetics - is pretty expected; but not how it turns *completely invisible*. If you want to test around more and let me know if you can find out which part exactly causes it, let me know. I'm curious.

Hi there, is there a way to safely uninstall this mod/associated mods while still using the same character? When I remove the mods from the mod folder (I've backed everything up) the characters created while the mods are active actually vanish from my select screen, rather than just being unloadable. They all re-appear and work fine once I put them back in, of course. I've removed as many SBR assets from my inventories as I can find but I'm not sure what else I can do. Or is that just impossible due to the things the mods add and change?

By itself, no. No mod that adds any notable amount of stuff is. Simply because Starbound is not designed to handle ANY sort of error besides non-existent items.

The reason why your character is vanishing is because it has a Sexbound-related status effect active. The game loads the character on boot (to be able to display it in the character selection menu), chokes on "WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS" and the loading dies, making the character not show up in the list.

 

And while removing status effects is already hard to impossible enough by itself, even if you were to get past this issue every planet that you ever places a Sexbound-specific object on will now be unable to load, crashing the entire world instance and booting you back to your ship (or likely just into the void) the moment that chunk of the world attempts to load.

 

So no, by normal means it is not possible to safely uninstall such mods.

 

There is a way, however. One involving alot of "coding" work.

If you make a dummy placeholder mod that just contains every status effect file and every object file of Sexbound, with all these having one line of script doing "end myself", you effectively clean your world of all Sexbound related things.

Hey so I tried going to Lustia but it crashed my game. Any help with fixing the problem?

having some issues where when im in a sex scene my character and the other chacter are invisible, no menu shows up either. it says in the top left im having sex and im sxb stunned aswell. i just started and so far my first sex scene was from a monster slime that killed me while i wasnt paying attention then initiated the sex scene but nothing happend. ive also defeated a monster forgot which one, but they go invisible, i can intiate sex with them b yclicking e over the air (wher ethey are) and then my cahracter im asuming joins the scene but i cant tell cause i go invisible and no sexbound menu appears. I hope some can help me figure this out

No clue, your log does not contain any notable error or crash. Just that two clothing items from KawaiiStuff+ couldn't be initiated. That's it.

Your moan plugin config is broken, if I read oSB's log right caused by the Elithian race patch being broken

"Caused by: (JsonParsingException) Cannot parse json patch file: /sxb_plugin.moan.config.patch in source "Sexbound_Elithian""
