LavenderCat Posted March 5, 2023 Posted March 5, 2023 So, yeah, as the tile say, I have no idea what I did. I uninstalled a bunch of mods and when I wanted to start a new game, this happened. I'm now using Realm of Lorkhan, but this issue persists. I have no idea what I did, so picture for reference. Full details: I uninstalled a bunch of mods I never use, and ended up uninstalling and re-installing ALL of my mods (as a precaution) and starting a new game. I use NMM; I ran LOOT, FNIS, and set everything up in BodySlide Studio; but still this issue persists. I have no idea what I did. I'm willing to uninstall and reinstall all my mods again, just need to know if that's what I'm going to have to end up doing of if there is some other way to fix this. Thank you all for taking the time to read this and help! LoadOrder_Skyrim_2023-03-05T00-26-33.txt ModList_2023-03-05T00-27-04.txt
travelmedic Posted March 5, 2023 Posted March 5, 2023 was the game working before uninstalling any mods? you might have deleted some needed mesh/texture files. if you got the game from steam you could do a file integrity check, maybe also other platforms switching to vortex or mod organizer 2 might give you better control over your mod management

If you accept, Save and reload is everything back to normal? This happens to me quite often when starting a new game saving and reloading that save fixes it everytime for me. I will add my game is fucking hot mess of mods and that hot mess is probably 5 or more yrs old now so I wouldn't suggest you don't look for a fix, just saying that if it's only on initial character creation then you can keep playing. Erebea Posted March 5, 2023 Posted March 5, 2023 I'd check if your enb is setup correctly, as that is the likely cause.
Grey Cloud Posted March 5, 2023 Posted March 5, 2023 The way to go is to install the game and make sure it is working then install mods a few at a time, checking the game as you go.

The thing is, I only really removed some follower mods, and houses. Absolutely NOTHING that should have affected my character or dropped me in the void.

I have no idea what meshes even might need to be deleted (Literally all I removed were redundant armor, house, and follower mods). I did do an integrity check and made sure both my .ini files were matching afterwards, but the problem persists. I only have it on Steam. The irony is, this all kind of started when I tried to switch over to Vortex. I stuck with NMM because Vortex was having an aneurysm trying to simply move over my mods. I only have 234 mods (roughly)

So, I did it at the start screen (f12 is also, unfortunately, connected to screenshots) and it worked. Some ENB thing is messing with it, apparently. No idea what ENB thing. I'm including my two SkyrimPrefs.ini files. Maybe someone can help me decode these things (I am inept and ENBs, btw XD) SkyrimPrefs.ini SkyrimPrefs.ini

I'd leave the enb off while in the realm of lorkan, make your character, change any mcm settings and leave the realm. Then turn your enb back on when in Skyrim proper, and see if the issue persists. If does, check that you somehow don't have mutliple enblocal and enbseries ini files. What enb are you using? Can't check your skyrimpref inis without knowing that.

As far as I know, I don't have any ENBs. The one I did try to install was called BLEAK (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/24828), but as far as I know, I removed it. I can toggle the ENB on/off just fine outside of the Realm of Lorkhan, it's just in the realm it seems. Thank you kindly for the help! I never thought such a simple thing could fix it (I didn't even know you COULD toggle ENBs on and off!) 1
