Lucy in the Sky Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 I have the weirdest thing ever happening with my Skyrim. This has been happening for a while, months actually, but only now I decided to post it on forums. I have several saves. Including a save right after the character creation screen (Inside the little room of "Alternate Start" mod), which for the sake of this topic I'll call "First save". Whenever I try to load my latest saves, my Skyrim CTD before finishing loading. But I easily avoid this problem by simply loading my "First save" first, and only then loading my latest save. This is fail proof to me. Every time I try loading my latest save first, my skyrim CTD, but if I load my first save and then load my latest, everything works fine. Anyone knows what's the deal with this? I can live with this , but it's just...weird.
Shocky Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 I've had the exactly same problem, however for me it simply vanished after few days(not even today I dont know how that happened) I'd suggest to lower your game settings(if you're running on high / ultra and high textures) perhaps and see how it goes.
venomg3 Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 try the newer enbs that are around havnt had this issue since memory fixes were implemented
Lucy in the Sky Posted July 30, 2013 Author Posted July 30, 2013 Thank you all for replying, I really appreciate the help. Don't know an answer, but same experience here. It's great to know I'm not alone ^^ I've had the exactly same problem, however for me it simply vanished after few days(not even today I dont know how that happened) I'd suggest to lower your game settings(if you're running on high / ultra and high textures) perhaps and see how it goes. I've just tested it by reducing from ultra high to less than low (I set the game to "low" and lowered options even more). But the problem remains. try the newer enbs that are around havnt had this issue since memory fixes were implemented I don't think it's related to my ENB because I literally started using ENBs just a few days ago (maybe a week), but this problem is quite old already. But I'm curious, how can I know if the ENB I use has memory fixes implemented into it? On an offtopic bit: This is the ENB I use ( http://www.skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/23812 ) , I love it.
Camila Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 I think this is a common issue for a lot of people. I already got the habit of loading a save i know it will load 100% of the times and then load my latest save. But I can't really find the reason why some saves will always load up and some will always crash you if you load them first.. I would love so much if there was a way to fix that but until then i guess we will have to keep loading the loadable save first :< Oh and i also noticed that most of my autosaves from a cell change are most likely to load correctly.
Kargrin Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 Look for any mod that uses scripts and remove them. You can also download skyrim performance monitor, if your game pushes over 3.1 gb of ram, the game will crash.
D_ManXX2 Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 I think this only happens to me when i save a game and quickly exit skyrim. next time i run skyrim with this new save game i have have to load it several times till it loads up correctly, what i do is load a savegame before that and hit tilde key click on my character and type kill it should now clear the newest save game correctly and exit skyrim and load the save game where this bug occurred and this should have fixed it for me.
Zquad1 Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 Yeah just like Kargrin said, it's usually a cause of your game running Lots of Scripts, & when ever you change anything mainly when you delete something, like a piece of armor, you might need to clean your saves, here is one way to do that----> How to REMOVE ALL embedded scripts from your savegame - Tutorial I experience this all the time, but I am constantly changing things, deleting this, adding that...etc & I am heavily scripted. So I am used to having a few hiccups every now & then, But I also Clean my saves A LOT!!
Lucy in the Sky Posted July 30, 2013 Author Posted July 30, 2013 I do delete and install a lot of mods constantly hahahah. I have to leave pretty soon, but I'll try your suggestions later today. Thank you all. I'll bring the feedback once I've tried it =) ====== Edit from 07/31: Just to be clear, I haven't send a feedback on this cleaner program because I've been procrastinating on this since yesterday.... hahah sorry. But I'll try it soon
ballsy Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 I remember having the crappiest load orders and mod management practices back in 2012, and my game still loaded 100% of the time. This started happening to me as well after a complete re-installation with 1.9, adding DG, DB, and SkyRe. Pretty much been learning mod management and maintenance practices for around half a year. Meh.
demongoat Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 from what i understand alt start mods screw up the game as well, so does loading and unloading mods. it isn't like oblivion where you can just clean save.
Zquad1 Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 your right cleaning saves doesn't always solve the issue... but it's a start.
Lucy in the Sky Posted August 1, 2013 Author Posted August 1, 2013 I downloaded the tutorial from that page provided ( http://www.skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/31675/ ) and woah, it looks more complex than I expected. I'm actually scared of messing up my cleaning and regret later on hahah.
TnTTnT Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 I got this same problem from time to time. Whenever I got problem with previous same, I will create a new game (but not save). Just after name that new character, I will load the problematic save again. Will try with starting save method, it may help reduce time for me.
