Talk about Gov't oversight! Drum is a buddy of mine's mainstay for "Dutch Alpine's" as he calls them,  He still finds it somewhere.

As for me, I started at 13, when Cigarettes' were less than .25 cents per pack. That was 50 some years ago, we all grew up watching the ads on TV, you had the Marlboro man, Camel Joe, etc. Everyone was encouraged to support the tobacco company's who had their Lobbyist's in DC whispering to the political party's. Now its a different flavor, Oil, Tech, chips, etc. and tobbaco has become the "Whipping Post" for everyone. Now it is Menthol, the first Cig I ever smoked was Menthol, and I have never smoked any but Menthol. Salem, Kool, etc. etc.

And you forgot to mention that they cost a good $5+ due to all the taxing. I mean as soon a another vote comes up to tax cigs even more, and they happen a lot, you can bet it's going to pass. Because: Who cares if we have to pay an arm and a leg for our simple enjoyment. We're just "dirty" smokers. Right? (Please note the sarcasm in that)

I honestly can't imagine why anyone, especially in this day and age, would start smoking.  It's disgusting, is well known to cause a myriad of health problems and costs a shit load of money.

Besides, there are some of us who really don't give a shit about the risks. We know that it's got health problems directly linked to it, hell, everyone these days knows; But people still smoke because we don't give a shit about the danger.

I stopped smoking 7 years ago. I used to smoke a very interesting brand called "roth händle". A south german brand from the black forest. Very dark tobacco and a very strong taste. I really loved them. A nice roth händle was providing me with the peace of mind I needed.

Had to stop since I was seriously sick. It luckly wasn't what everybody thinks first, but I still wasn't able to breath properly for two years and my chest up to the nose gave me constant pain. I wasn't even 22 mind you.

I still inhale weed through a vaporizer (legally, thanks doc), but I honestly lost the taste for cigs. I miss using my custom zippo everyday though.

Not a rant against smoking! I loved it way to much for it. Also I should be the last person pointing fingers at anybody. I still harm my body in more ways I realize.

It just pisses me off that this user said we are "disgusting" when everyone in the world has "Bad Habits", even beefers. how I spend my money, and what I do to my body is not for anyone to condemn!

No, it's not a 'natural cure' for anything, quite the opposite.  Spouting pseudoscience and calling it "facts" is laughable, as is calling me a "fool" when you're the one PAYING to slowly kill yourself.  But hey, thanks for attacking me for no reason other than you get butthurt about someone pointing out that what you're doing is stupid.

Tobacco, is the only natural source of nicotine. Nicotine is the only natural treatment for some mental illnesses like Bipolar, to name one.

And all the poisons that the tobacco industry adds to make them more addictive... Well that's your source of all the ill-effects. So take that grievance to them. Because not a single smoker can stop them from doing what they do. So don't place your blame on us.

In this day and age of "enlightened behavior" we are supposed to make concessions for others behavior. IE, I don't like "Gas Guzzling Cars" but I don't actively seek out those driving them just to inject my opinion. Then when they find my opinion offensive, I don't interject all the things I have against those cars, ultimately running down the car owners in the process.   I respect your opinion though.

I don't smoke either (well a couple of times back in high school), but I love the smell of tobacco and burning tobacco.   Also, I wish there were some better smoking animations in FO4 and RDR2, like the ability to smoke and move.

where did you get your psychology degree?  I don't have that but I have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, formerly known as Aspergers Syndrome.  I don't know what you mean by "create friction" because all I'm doing is very literally giving my opinions.  If that causes you some kind of friction, I have no control over that but I don't set out to purposefully antagonize.  I speak (and type) very literally, honestly and plainly.  Perhaps you aren't used to someone being so forthright.  Apologies if I have unintentionally offended.

You seem to have an issue with reading comprehension, taking things out of context and making yourself the center of the argument when there is absolutely no mention of you.  Look at what I actually posted and you'll see there is nowhere that I say any person is disgusting (including you), I said smoking itself is disgusting, which it is.  I also said I couldn't understand, especially in this day and age, how anyone could start knowing that it's so bad for you.

Switched to loose tobacco years ago when the name brands got stupid expensive (almost $50 U.S. a carton). Grew up on Marlboros and prefer that flavor if I can find it. Highly recommend loose tobacco as well since I've found it contains far less chemicals. And.... interesting thing I've noted is that my rolled cigarettes go out after a few seconds. So I can take a few hits and set it down again and it doesn't burn out. Good for two reasons; Don't have to worry about burning my fucking home down when I pass out drunk smoking and I don't inhale any side smoke from the shit still burning.
