fapcage Posted July 19, 2022 Posted July 19, 2022 Hello everyone, been a lurker here for awhile. I've been working on a project of mine for a while and I'm in the final phases. Currently I'm working on a brothel of sorts and I've finished everything except adding NPC's. This is a custom Race so it doesn't touch vanilla stuff. I've been trying to figure out a way or if it's possible to add a custom dance animation to just one NPC. (More would be a pipe dream From what I've read) but As I understand it, It's not possible without something like DAR, FNIS or Nemesis - Something I would like to avoid if possible. I have the HKX files already so that's not an issue. I've been stumped on this for a few days and my research on the net tells me it's not likely to happen. However before I hang this up and move on, I'd like to know if it's possible. Thanks for reading ? 1
AKawaiiTent Posted July 19, 2022 Posted July 19, 2022 I'm not familiar with skyrim, but assuming its the same as fallout 4, one option would be to create a furniture object that the npc interacts with (like a chair but it could be any object), and on interaction it would play 3 differnt HKX files. Kinggath (one of the authors of sim settlements) has a YT tutorial of how to do this with vanilla fallout 4 animations (you could skip half the steps since you'd be using your HKX files instead) Link The processes are probably pretty similair since the creation kit and papyrus is shared between them

There are applause animations (2 or 3) in Skyrim that are not used by the game - but are already registered (so FNIS is not needed). The (no longer available) Mod Dance Synchronizer was based on it. So these unused applause animations can be used - e.g. in a package. But only 2 or 3 dances are possible with it.
Ezarr Posted July 23, 2022 Posted July 23, 2022 I always felt skyrim was missing a brothel, even in vanilla version. Glad to see someone taking the initiative into adding one. I was also planning on making one for the Alik desert mod. Let me know, I would like to donate some NPCs for the brothel (some beautiful dancers).

Really good dances cannot be inserted because the actors will fall into the textures (for example, there is a Samba dance - the actor moves significantly in the X,Y plane), but Skyrim's animation does not support this movement, as in Oblivion, for example. Such movements are allowed only by the game engine. It seems that there is a Skyrim plugin for combat animations that supports such movements, but I'm not sure if this will work on dances.

How can someone fall into the texture? Do you mean mesh instead of texture? And there are enough opportunities for dances in Skyrim. Almost 100 dances are included here. The special requirement that fapcage has - it should work without FNIS. And for that you can replace the unused applause animations

fapcage Posted July 24, 2022 Author Posted July 24, 2022 Hey thank you everyone for responding, suggestions and posting videos. Since the time I posted this, I've been trying to figure out how to make it work. unfortunately I think I'm out of my element when it comes to animations. For some reason I thought It was doable through a script, but then that's another can of worms. I did learn more and appreciate better modders who make this work. Fortunately I can still script out the dialogue and "Fade-black" scenes so that will have to do for now. Thanks again everyone

Thanks again everyone You need to get in touch with modders that work on animations and ask them for help/advice. Like 'Gunslicer' creator of the "GSPoses" here in loverslab. Here a list of different animation mods https://www.loverslab.com/files/category/25-animation/ You can start private conversations with the modders and see if they are still active and if would like to help.
