DeepBlueFrog Posted November 1, 2013 Author Posted November 1, 2013 Have to report a bug with the Ali/Alicia transformation causing the game to lock up and have to go to Ctrl/Alt/Delete- started last night with the new update to Ver.3 and just tested it with the new update from today. What's weird about it is that i get the exact same type of crash when trying to absorb Dragon soul as well- kinda looks like the same animation from Ali/Alicia. Been using Alicia Mod past few weeks with few troubles- early on i had CTD with Ali/Alicia transform in the beginning but its been stable for a few weeks now until the update. Using latest Fnis4.02, all other Mods updated as well. Not sure about that one... since you get the same freeze with dragon souls, my guess is that the cause is elsewhere... maybe video or memory related? The effect I am using is a simple portal effect used in several quests in the game.
Old Book Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 Alicia is one of the few really fun Evil companions. Inigo or Anduniel have more to say, and Vilja will talk about anything, but I always feel terrible playing a Vampire or Assassin with that crew. Even Serana is surprisingly sweet for a vampire. Not Alicia. Like Eola the cannibal girl in Morthal, Alicia is right there pushing you to see how bad you can be. And unlike Eola, Alicia will throw you down and have you on the floor to show you she cares.

Nomad108 Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 Not sure if it's intentional, but I thought I'd mention that books 1 and 2 are listed as stolen, but 3 is not. Also, when I paid off my bounty once, the guards took books 1 and 2. Since I haven't finished the quest yet, I'm not sure if that will be a problem. Other than that, 3.1 has been working flawlessly for me so far. Great update!
meerrettich Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 I had a thought for people with crashes in Mist Grove. If you also experience crashes when Ali transforms back into Alicia, that could point to an older version of the Zaz Animation framework. Make sure you updated to the latest version (including updating FNIS and running GenerateFNISforUsers to update animation templates). Well, it had crashed sometimes if i used the rod to fast(one hit summoning one of her personalities), but i made sure that the Zaz Animation pack and the GenerateFNISforUsers was updatet before installing your mod.
Nomad108 Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 - Fixed: square characters in text of poem Missed one on the last page.

Having them as stolen was not intentional but kind of realistic if you think of it. I will add a note about it in the to-do list.
Luxifer87 Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 Hi! this is an awsome mod but i'm little stuck in the back story quest... i think i've all the clues but i can't understand how to advance in this quest.. no other dialogue option (both alicia and ali) or markers on the map or anything about that... only scholars who repeats the same answers... so i can't understand if i'm too stupid to find the solution or it's a bug... thanks for the help

Are there more clues than the three books? If so, I'll keep looking. If not, I've got a problem because no location appeared on my map.
kralgar1 Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 Think its the books + chatting up both Ali and Alicia. Could be wrong i only played through once.
Guest LoganX Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 Well i stuck in the situation, where alicia changed into Ali. I got quest to ask collectors etc. and the second quest i got when i talked to alicia abut her birth. Now i need to find her birth place. Are there any more clues?
Nomad108 Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 Think its the books + chatting up both Ali and Alicia. Could be wrong i only played through once. That's discouraging. I didn't get any new dialogue for Alicia or Ali after reading the three books.
DeepBlueFrog Posted November 2, 2013 Author Posted November 2, 2013 Edit: Ok.. here is some help in spoilers if you need directions for the back story quest. I hope this will help... - Wait for Alicia to turn into Ali (or beat her enough to force a transformation) - Talk to Ali until she mentions Sanguine - When Alicia comes back, ask her where she is from until she trusts you enough to open up (you need to beat her enough for that) :: That will trigger the map marker - Find journals about/from Sanguine (optional) - Talk to Alicia's echo at her birthplace - Visit the prison across the river from Alicia's echo and find the journal of her former master - Follow her master through the portal in the prison and complete the quest by using the soul shards in the enchanter dwemer device.
Vortec Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 So how does Alicia's sister Agnes fit in, in all this, she doesn't say much about Alicia?
DeepBlueFrog Posted November 3, 2013 Author Posted November 3, 2013 So how does Alicia's sister Agnes fit in, in all this, she doesn't say much about Alicia? She will be part of a small epilogue to the main quest about Alicia. I haven't started that part yet. Right now, she is trying to become part of the Temple of Dibella and she doesn't want to talk about what happened with her sister.

A bit unclear: Do I need to beat her before the dialogue shows up, or do I need to beat her to get a proper response? If it's the latter, I've got a problem. I've got no dialogue. Edit: If the first case is true, then everything is fine, now. If the second, you may have a script error.

To troubleshoot this, I need to know a few things about your game: 1- What stage is Alicia's story on? (what is the current objective in your journal) 2- Is there any dialogue to ask about her origin? something like 'where are you from'? 3- Is she wearing a gag? 4- If you ask her to kneel and show you her cuts, how many cuts does she have?
moonwolf3 Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 has anyone tried with EFF? i noticed it said that it was incompatible but not tested so... i was going to try with EFF see if it worked... quick question though I have custom body so i downloaded the optional file do i need the core and the optional or just the optional?
Nomad108 Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 I failed to get the 'where are you from' dialogue at a stage when I had all three books and Ali had been around many time. I had the 'talk to scholars' objective at that time. She was not wearing a gag. She reported only one cut, but I know I beat here more than that. (Maybe not as often as I should.) As a test, I dismissed Alicia and reset AFT, uninstalled your mod, crated a clean save and reinstalled the mod. I made a quick run through the world to collect the three books, but still had no 'where are you from' dialogue. (Still had the 'talk to scholars' objective.) I reloaded my old save from before uninstalling, beat the crap out of Alicia, and the dialogue showed up and she answered me immediately. Finished the quest with no further problems. As a side note, when I met Alicia for the first time after reinstalling, she didn't have a dialogue to follow. The only four options were 'what happened to your old master', 'what are you looking for in a master', 'I need you to do something' and 'show me your cuts.' I whacked her with the rod to get Ali to come and she had the dialogue to follow. After that, I went to collect the books. I'm thinking this is an AFT problem since I didn't get the AFT options until much later, but several warning from AFT about Alicia and Ali not being proper followers. If you need any more info, I still have the saves from before and after I reinstalled.

The optional files only give you the folder structure to custimize her skin and body shape. You need to install that archive on top of the core files.

I did not have any trouble with this and EFF it all worked just fine just did not have the same options as with other followers but it worked just fine with other followers and Alicia. hope this helps

In previous versions, she just had no follower option at all.

If you need any more info, I still have the saves from before and after I reinstalled. The books are optional to the quest. You can do the whole quest without reading the books (although you will miss important details about Alicia's story). Quest stages are triggered by dialogues. First you need to talk all the way to Ali, until she mentions Sanguine and triggered the quest objective about looking for the books. Then you can talk to Alicia about 'where are you from'. If you beat her often enough, she will reveal her birth place on the map. About beatings, the number of cuts slowly goes back to 0 if you go without beating her for a few days. That also includes fast travel. So if you fast travel a lot, she will return back to 0 relatively quickly. Version 3.0 had a problem with missing follower dialogues in some cases. I think I fixed it in 3.1 (but they could still be missing if you upgraded). If they are still missing in 3.1, try going back to Hjerim and enter the basement through the outside entrance. I put a trigger there to force follower dialogue options on Alicia (do not use fast travel to the basement... you have to walk to the entrance and into the basement for the trigger to work).
