Question about horses and does anyone use them?

First this is not a request for mods just wondering does anyone use horses and have they found any good mods for them?

Horses in the current state of a game are just dumb as they attack or use agro if you like.

They fast travel anywhere you do.

There is no way to leave a horse when you use one only if i dies does it stop.

Has anyone ever heard of a litter mod? see link for reference

I do use Convenient Horses and ride them from time to time.. But i got way more convenient ways to travel fast. I imagine it's more of a roleplayer thing

I think with as much problems as Bethesda had with carriages, other vehicles won't really be a great option.  The modder for the SLUTS mod was trying to do a lot with having a person pull a cart instead of a horse, and that apparently was trick.

Myself I don't use horses for the reasons you list, plus any lack of good combat from them, for the most part.  Then again I might not bother with them even if there was good horseback combat, I am not sure.

I have seen mods that add things on the horses, if you wanted to dress them up, when you're done with the PC and followers. Might be more for the role players that do use horses.

I don't use vanilla horses. They're slow, clunky and quite useless anyway. I did look at some overhauls, but didn't like any of 'em.

Yeah i feel the same only "horse" I  use is Arvak he goes away when not needed. It is a shame horses could have been great in Skyrim something besides being meat and leather ?

Yeah. If we think about how great traveling would've been. Witcher 3 didn't do it right but they did it much better. Apart from the whole "You need to use it otherwise you walk way too long without fast travel whenever you want."

Riding itself was better. That and horses stamina and speed in skyrim is just awful

Convenient Horses. Full stop. Other horse mods might not even exist.

I don't use it and have it turned off permanently. In fact last I recall using it was when I was still playing on X360 a decade ago simply becasue there was no way of turning it off. I have not used it for so long, I often forget it even exists as a core game mechanic.
