[Forum] How can I get an email per new post on my subscribed thread?

It seems I cannot set the subscriptions settings to allow me to get ONE mail per ONE post on my subsribed thread, just one mail per day or week.

With followed creators I can get a mail per post on the other hand...

 

Is this for site traffic or something? I would really like to respond to support questions faster sometimes or even when I am away from PC and cannot check LL frequently. 

Would it be possible to add this option? or am I just too stupid to find it?

You should be able to do this.

 

First, make sure that you are marked as following whatever you want to receive notifications about. Even if you are the author you might not be following the Thread.

 

Next, go to "Manage Followed Content" in your Profile. Then choose the topic/file/blog that you want to get the notification for. Click on the "Change Preference" listed to the far right of what you chose. From the list choose how you want to be notified (I assume you want the "one email per day with all new content from that day"). Then you're done.

this is exactly what I do not want. I want to receive one mail per new post on a subscribed thread as soon as the post has been made.

LL is my first forum I use since 15 years so it might be this kind of option just does not exist for boards, but I remember having it back... in the.... welll... 2005 on another board xD

Okay. I haven't tried it but you should be able to do that by:

 

1) Go to Account Settings (under Profile)

2) On thee right side of the page is "Other Settings", choose "Notification Settings"

3) Go to Mentions and My Content and click on the dropdown menu

4) Choose email under "Reactions"

 

This should get you an email whenever anyone reacts to something that you have posted

hmm, ok, but this is not ideal, since I will be spammed then with everything

but its ok, I can live without the option, was just wondering if I miss something. thx for the guidance, I did not even realisze there are the additional profile options to the right.

Rather than start a new thread, a related question...

 

I have set my settings to send me an e-mail whenever I recieve a DM, but recently I haven't gotten any mails. Is there currently an issue with this system? Or did I just log in an see the message too soon, so the site didn't bother to mail me since I had already read it? I have noticed that there is sometimes an delay.

I am not aware of an issue but I'll look into it.

No issues at the moment as far as I can tell. Will keep an eye out though.

Turns out it wasn't an issue, the site seems to just be really inconsistent in how long it takes before it send out the e-mail. Got one within a minute, while others weren't delivered until an hour or more had passed.
