Back2friday Posted April 4, 2022 Posted April 4, 2022 Everyone saying something diffrent my God. Can someone explain wich to use if i want to give my pc 1000 magicka from a new game? So i want to start after leaving Helgen with 1000 magicka instead of 100. Some say setav will reset, the other say it will break you character (how, idk) Others say to use modav wich simply add extra points permanently. While another says to use force. I don't want locked debuffs or this won't happen or no regeneration. I just want to simply add another 900 points to magicka as if it was vanilla itself. Thanks
blank_v Posted April 4, 2022 Posted April 4, 2022 ... 1) if You want You can just edit race... just give it 1000 starting magicka... all NPCs will have 1000 magicka too... but they are cheating anywaa so whats the difference? 2) You can make Ability... this will make You magicka green color text in skill tree view... but u will have perm +1000 magicka or whatever You want... 3) You can just use SetAV ?... Actor Values are saved in Save Game... so once u set it its set... I don't know for what u need that... but there... it took me like 10 minutes to make Mod... here it comes... Special mod made just for you... "Cap Setter" This mod allows You to set Health, Stamina, Magicka to anything You like... ( unless u want more than 10.000 points or less than 1 xDD ) Req: - Skyrim - SKSE - SkyUI [Tobi] CapSetter.rar Screenshots: Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler
KoolHndLuke Posted April 4, 2022 Posted April 4, 2022 Just set it as an enchantment on a ring or something. All kinds of fun to be had with those.
Back2friday Posted April 4, 2022 Author Posted April 4, 2022 Thanks, but no mods no alternatives. I want an answer. Your answers is setav. without explaining anything. There are people having issues with that command saying the stats resets after loading a save. Others say it will permanently lock it at that number. Other ls say debuff and buffs stopped working. And you say it's saved on save game (i assume after saving the game)

I have a ring with unlimited magicka. Only i have some modded spells that has the higher magicka the higher the damage. With 100 magicka that spell is useless and i don't want to put points into magicka ?
Just Don't Posted April 4, 2022 Posted April 4, 2022 Use forceav player.forceav magicka x You can check this kind of technical details in sites like UESP which not only test things directly before writing it down as common knowledge, but are based on official tools to explore the game code. https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim_Mod:Actor_Value_Indices#Altering_Skills_or_Attributes

Back2friday Posted April 4, 2022 Author Posted April 4, 2022 This is exactly what im talking about. Now we have 2 answers. Setav and forceav.. So wich one should i use? Favor goes to forceav because ive read too many complaints about setav
Just Don't Posted April 5, 2022 Posted April 5, 2022 Testing this would take you 5 minutes top. Make a new save, test one command, close the game, then load that save again and check if changes persist.
anjenthedog Posted April 6, 2022 Posted April 6, 2022 player.setav magicka N will set the value to N. - I had problems with my values dropping back to the before values on subsequent save loads when I first started using it. Not sure if I did something wrong or what, (it was aong time ago) but after a few of those, I stopped using it and used modav instead. player.modav magicka N *adds* N to your present value. - I've experienced no problems using modav. you can find out more about each command at these skyrimcommands.com links: setav and modav

Thank you. I will try modav and forceav when ready.
anjenthedog Posted April 6, 2022 Posted April 6, 2022 to be clear, I have only used modav and setav. Never used forceav. You're on your own there.
