Kamen Rider Kuuga Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 Seems like at least once a week (or twice this time), some moral guardian appears on the Steam discussion page for Skyrim and complains about the screenshot pages being taken up by "half naked" women instead of "awesome dragon fights" or scenery porn (AKA overly 'pretty' landscapes). It will then turn into a 100+ thread post about how Valve should make categories and/or outright ban those who post them, because moral outrage and a healthy dose of THINK OF THE CHILDREN. I know, INTERNETZ DRAMA and all that, but am I somehow wrong in wanting them to just shut the fuck up if no rules are being broken?

There are just as many retards as on the the Nexus O.o I can't even bear reading the mod comments.
RitualClarity Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 If the rules aren't being broken then yes they should "shut the fuck up" your words... It is rude to comment out of turn about something someone is doing that is within the rules of the site. If you don't like what is going on don't participate or contact the administrators or owners through appropriate channels. In this case if they have problems they can go here. and on the bottom of the page is info that someone can contact to discuss or complain about any needed changes for Steam that they feel is necessary. They may not change but if there is enough outcry there might be some changes.
Pork Type Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 I think Steam Workshop may actually have more retards than the Nexus, or maybe just a lot less moderation of the comments. Perhaps both. I've seen some really rude comments on authors' mod pages over at SW.
Guest Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 I can't believe people feel the need to dumb down a game to the level it doesn't deserve. Skyrim is NOT for children.
Endiness Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 To be fair, Screenshots seems to be serious business here too. Screenshots on anonymous sites of private stuff always seems to fuel rage from time to time. Unless it violates the rules of site, then people should probably let it go. Just pictures, Just saying
Mordyn Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 Well, this game is for adults only, so saying "think of the children" is just nonsense...
Katsoro Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 @Ofinfin Skyrim is rated M not adult only/ A 18 and in the US there are no restrictions on the age at witch people can buy M or A 18 rated games, so yes "think of the children" can be used on any game in the US.
Kamen Rider Kuuga Posted July 2, 2013 Author Posted July 2, 2013 The whole ESRB is just a self serving scam designed around making vocal morons shut up because they put a rating on a box that has no legal status at all. Most stores, and console makers, refuse to deal with games that don't go through the ESRB pony show simply to also shut up the vocal morons, But they still complain anyway because they're under the illusion that it's the job of everybody else to ensure that kids don't get their hands on these games. Like the Comics Code, I hope the ESRB falls apart and its illusion of power is ripped away, leaving people to have to actually make informed buying choices for their kids. BUT LET'S BE HONEST, THAT'LL NEVER HAPPEN. My hobby is dying...
RezTheFatal Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 I'm going to reverse troll the moral crusaders by photoshopping strategically placed fig leaves on all of my screenshots before I upload them on Steam.
Kamen Rider Kuuga Posted July 2, 2013 Author Posted July 2, 2013 On the one hand I want to just flood the fuck out of the place with images that follow the rules but will still piss them off. On the other hand, it feels like punishing the majority for the whiny little minority. Maybe I'm just too much of a nice guy for that place.

You made me think of something really silly...with this comment. The though flashed through my mind of pasting penises on all the characters, creatures and such. All over and in the strangest places just to cause moral outrage to those individuals that feel it is there place to monitor the Net. Yes Penises. Boobies and buts aren't offensive enough. Penises are where you go to offend the majority of those with moral high-ground. Yep I bet that will really start to cause some serious issues and really start to "piss" those individuals off to no end. Not that I would every decide to waste valuable time pasting penises on characterless just to piss people off. I got better things to do than that. It was just a funny thought about their reactions..
Guest Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 Yes Penises. Boobies and buts aren't offensive enough. Penises are where you go to offend the majority of those with moral high-ground. This. It made me remember the hilarious shitstorm surrounding the release of Schlongs of Skyrim again. Especially interesting was how many of those straight males had to bash a mod about the thing between our legs to prove their sexual orientation or some bullshit like that.

You want to offend people show penises. You want to offend them more, show more penises. The more uptight they are the more offended they are.

Guardians guard stuff or stop you from advancing. Crusaders out for justice, trying change things while straight up being dick about it.
Kamen Rider Kuuga Posted July 3, 2013 Author Posted July 3, 2013 My fingers are penises. My hands are penises. My arms are penises. MY ENTIRE BODY IS A PENIS.
RitualClarity Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 My fingers are penises. My hands are penises. My arms are penises. MY ENTIRE BODY IS A PENIS. Old World Blues reference?

I was bummed that SOS didn't make mod of the month over there. At least it made it to #2. And I totally agree. What, you had to bash SOS to prove to the internet that you're a manly hetero male? Why do penises elicit any reaction from you other than, "Meh, yeah, I see one of those everyday." Someone should mod these into the game.
Kamen Rider Kuuga Posted July 3, 2013 Author Posted July 3, 2013 My fingers are penises. My hands are penises. My arms are penises. MY ENTIRE BODY IS A PENIS. Old World Blues reference? I had completely forgotten about that until you just mentioned it, actually. Now I want to play OWB again... but New Vegas was naughty and pissed me off so much by crashing and locking up five times in less than a fucking hour that I uninstalled the fucker.
Guest Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 I'm going to reverse troll the moral crusaders by photoshopping strategically placed fig leaves on all of my screenshots before I upload them on Steam. Awesome idea. I'm going to use a troll face.
TheoryoftheDead Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 Well, it's the same double standards that you can see pretty much everywhere else. Having a game feature seas of dead bodies, torture, gore or blood is fun for the whole family, however displaying a woman in a bikini is a big "NO-NO". Not really a surprise, and although I would prefer them to shut up, I'll just go ahead and ignore them instead. I've never seen anything of value said on the steam forums anyway.
Guest Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 Can't they just attach a 18+ only thing to mods? Would block off all the kids. Then again I faked my age to 10 years older on youtube when I was 10 so you never know.
