my char is slaved and made to wear these chains, are they meant to link together or will they look like this?

 

I built in bodyslide using hdt option if that matters

I think they are part of a set.. There should be a third piece that binds them together if i remember that one right.. But it's one of the more annoying items of DD, can't look it up rn maybe tomorrow. Try to  search for chain harness in general.

They're supposed to, but HDT-SMP doesn't support chains connecting from one body part to another. You'd need HDT-PE for that, which was never ported to SE - from what I remember, it was something to do with not having access to the SDK for SE's version of Havok.

So the chain items from Heretical Resources don't work with HDT-SMP, as they were built with HDT-PE. There is no HDT-PE for SE, it only functions on LE. I think there is a non-HDT option you can build in bodyslide that works for SE but I'm not very familiar with DD for SE.

 

Also, if the item in question is only a wrist chain, that one never had connecting chains with physics. They just hang off the wrists. If the item is called prisoner chains or something like that, it should connect the neck/ankles/wrists with chains.
