FNIS crash (skyrim ordinary edition)

hi everyone

 

I'm currently experiencing a problem with FNIS, it was working fine with my mods. After a while, skyrim crashed, I tried to restart it but FNIS starts but crashes after a few seconds. I then tried to install "load Game CTD fix" but it did not work any better.

Can anyone help me?

Why did you try to run FNIS after Skyrim crashed?

Which came first your game crashed or FNIS crashed?

 

How long was your game working fine? A couple of hours, days, weeks, months, years?

You have to add FNIS as an exception to Windows Defender, for some reason after a recently update Windows Defender started to block FNIS when the generating process is working. That will fix your FNIS Issue but no idea about your crash ingame, could be million of things depending on your build

I'm with MilfSimmer's theory:

My guess is you have Skyrim installed in "C:\Program Files (x86)" and now Windows UAC caught up to you after the Windows update. Run FNIS as administrator.

Your explanations of the problem are very confusing.

What mod manager do you use? Probably MO2, do you start FNIS in MO2?

What is the folder you installed Skyrim in?

Load Game CTD fix has no effect on the FNIS generator.

Hello swmas,
I decided to restart FNIS when I saw that skyrim was not launching. I tried to empty the overwrite to check if it was coming from FNIS.

it was skyrim that crashed for the first time after one or two hours of playing.
When I tried to restore it, I also tried to restore the FNIS. The FNIS started to stop working when the animations were generated

Finally, I followed your advice and created an exception and now FNIS works.

(you can cheat even more with deepL by translating from French to English and back again and then back to English. Good way to double check if the passion didn't transform into hate)

I found the fix hidden around the infinite list of comments in the nexus page and I don't know why is not a tagged comment already. Since 3 - 4 updates ago Windows Defender just cancels the FNIS Generating process even if you run it as admin for some reason.

well it is also the case for avast. I used this solution of the exception but on avast because I do not use windows defender.

it's crazy, for the moment Skyrim still hasn't crashed, I don't know why I feel it won't last, on va bien voir.
