Hi, I'm the guy who inquired about the possible conflict with the EoS. Sorry for such a delay in response, but real life stuff has its ways of grabbing my attention.
Here is the current mod lists in my game, ran on PDX launcher, from top to bottom.

(Numnber 1 Mod is Gigastructural Engineerin which in on the list, but deactivated at the moment)

I'm also attaching the screenshots of what the premade empire in EoS looks like right now in my game and build new empire screen looks like right now.

A quick check of the code and my own testing shows no conflict between Restyled and base Elves of Stellaris.

Their portraits are in their own portrait groups in their own species classes.

I would try disabling patch mods that actually affect Elves to find the culprit.

I found the culprit, and it is the EoS Portrait Patch for LV. I don't think this file is supported anymore since I got this file very long long time ago. Looking at the code, the current version of EoS has something called "custom_attachment_label = "HAIR_STYLE"" in its portrait files, whereas the LV patch doesn't. I tried adding them to the LV patch as well but it didn't work. I want to give it a shot fixing the issue myself, but I'm still unclear wh ere I should be looking. Could you give me a pointer? This is the portrait patch I have rightnow. last updated 3 years ago so I'm not even sure where to begin.

Does this mod account for the nudist/exhibitionist traits?  I tried out Sharp, but nudists still wear clothing so I just wanted to check.

This would be a patch between LV and EoS, and not related to SE. Not having seen code for LV I can only guess at what is needed. The biggest changes from the last while for portraits have been the gender detection in portrait groups and the asset selector code getting renamed (which you just ran into). Feel free to take apart vanilla and SE - Restyled code to see how things should look now.

No. You would have to write a new Trigger Pack submod to detect them and get me to hook them into the core. See an earlier message below:

What you want to do is write a new Trigger pack submod for LV.

If you look in the Trigger Pack Core, you'll see triggers for the broad categories for jobs/civics. You can also take apart submods for other mods to see how they're written.

Write your triggers and send me the names (hopefully the naming scheme makes sense e.g. is_ptp_job_category_priest_LV for LV jobs that go in the priest category) and I'll hook them into the core.

Do let me know if you want to create new categories and tell me how they should be handled.

@Arcess

Just a quick question:
Does your Mod - SE - Restyled - Plus Plus - (and the SE Restyled Files) still work with the new Patch/Update/DLC to 3.8?!

Sorry for asking, I'm new to this and couldn't find an answer for it. ?

A quick test around the changes to species classes found that the submod for not replacing the vanilla portraits and the patch for Project Xenotype have become redundant.

Those can be removed from playsets without issue.

In general, portrait code is one of those things that rarely change between versions.

Do bring up any issues found, though.

Is there a way to use this and "SE - Everything" at the same time, for more variety? Nudity is more interesting if it's a little less common ?

Posted

Yes.

The way the main mod was designed means that all versions of clothing asset selectors exist, and the clothing submods tell the game which of them to use.

What you described happens to match the testing one I made, which has all clothing enabled.

If you edit gfx\portraits\portraits\se_restyled_portraits.txt (the only file that does anything)

and do a find/replace to swap all instances of "plus_plus" to "all" in the file, you should have that active.

Works great, thanks!

I'm curious about adding my own clothing options and editing the selector, so I may have more questions for you once I inevitably fail to understand how the mod works ?

Posted

The steam page for the main mod has a link to a repo for grabbing the tools I made/used to generate the asset selectors.

Essentially they are built using a template and a lot of find/replace using paths to textures, with further code stripping off parts to produce the different versions.

Much less error-prone than manual editing.

Feel free to make and upload alternative sets of asset selectors (including any textures you may have added). :)

I can't get Restyled Plus Plus to work. However, I think I can get Restyled Sharp to work. I have the Portrait Trigger Pack, SE - Asset Repackage, and SE Restyled installed. It says on my playlist page that Plus Plus is for ver 3.5 and Sharp is for ver 3.6. I'm not sure if that matters. I'm just wondering if this mod hasn't been updated or if it is a problem with my computer. Thanks in advance for your reply.

The submods only contain phenotypes that point to different clothing asset selectors, all of which are present in the main mod, so all the updates happen there.

What problems are you seeing?

Heyy, I noticed that the female clothing on men is shown being worn in the miniature portrait field, and the larger portrait that opens after selecting it shows them as naked. Is there any simple way, maybe load order or something that could have the clothes displayed the same way in the large portrait? Thanks.20250808071615_1.jpg.c51daaa251cb277e536110621720605e.jpg

I changed all instances of plus_plus to all (which has worked perfectly) and am using this load order. And I attached one more example of how it looks.20250809115412_1.jpg.ceb124e684dcf5a0a0673fe8dbfaa8ca.jpgScreenshot2025-08-10171231.png.af54c2aff84247c70de34185606cd8ee.pngScreenshot2025-08-10171246.png.d07ca2a163949cb6a92f08c8b84f75f4.pngScreenshot2025-08-10171307.png.4f28181ea7d26fa489404ffb06bc8d9c.pngScreenshot2025-08-10171326.png.dd8e37193d93b1880b8db3930d783636.pngScreenshot2025-08-10171341.png.fb2a5dacfb1f59305272218854490b5e.pngScreenshot2025-08-10171231.png.af54c2aff84247c70de34185606cd8ee.png

See if you can reproduce this using only SE mods. Having error.log would give clues about where the issue is.

An update to the portrait trigger pack core means the other packs have been merged into it and are no longer necessary. Yes, this includes the LV one.

I did make a clothing submod using [all], but it was only for testing. I wonder if people would like me to release that. The difference is minor enough that you have already recreated it. :D

Do note that using Irony mod manager allows you to produce a plain text mod list you can simply paste.

I forgot to clarify that the male portraits appear naked only when the mini portrait is with female clothing. Their large portraits are clothed when its male clothing. I am using more societies infinity and government variety pack which I'm thinking might be the issue because I see in the error log something about calling for a job type that doesn't exist. Is LV Gender patch also not needed anymore? I'm hoping the error log will help, and I'll try running without the other mods. I've searched portrait, cloth, and human_male in the log and I think I found some stuff like female clothing being mentioned near it but I'm not sure what I'm looking at exactly.  Thanks for your help.

The glitch only occurs when I am using more societies infinity, but not when I am using ethics and civics classic with government variety. I think the values that more societies infinity is using are not recognized by se restyled. So since I like your mod more haha I'm going to use ethics and civics classic. I hope its a simple fix cause I'll do it!

Posted

Not familiar with that mod, but I suspect it is horribly outdated, given overwriting/deletion of vanilla civics.

Posted

Is there possibly a simple fix that you could share with me to allow the men to wear the female clothes and have it display on the large portrait also?

Posted

Yes. Don't use mods so broken that they affect portrait mods. At this point portraits are the mildest symptom. Vanilla civics no longer existing is quite serious.

Retest with only SE mods. Your list seems to be so broken that vanilla civics fail to be detected.

I attached my list of only se mods used and screenshots of what happened in game.

This is the new error log without se-human-hair in the mods list. For some reason it mentions lv gender patch on the first line of the error log even though that is not in my mods list for launch.
