DeadSomething Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 i downloaded and will kepp this on my HDD just so it never vanishes. i hope i'll remember this in 10 years and not delete it by accident when cleaning out the rubbish
Trooper1138 Posted October 17, 2015 Posted October 17, 2015 Ok, try this link. Hopefully several of you, and moderators, can download this and hopefully keep this from disappearing off the internet again. https://mega.nz/#!jptVVBLB!N0tGmFr98uZd8IcBV_Or8EjnP1Z0YnBtHK2Ckjmugdk The read-me file says it only works with the "True Patch" that is available on Tessera's website to anyone. It's a great patch, and despite what he says, he only edited texture and text files for that patch. The lion's share of the "True Patch" work was done by an awesome guy named Acrimonious. Hopefully you all get to enjoy my all-time favorite game nearly as much as I have over the years. Well done, mate! Anyway, what exactly does this mod do? Is it only nude textures and stuff or also anything gameplay related? Dialogue or any adult stuff or whatever?

scyth Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Nice, but if i install the true patch i cant start a new game, because in the loading screen it gets a ctd,is it combatible with the unofficlal patch because with this patch i can start a new game
dr1tz Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 Scyth if you want to install the True patch then you need to uninstall the unofficial patch they dont play together at all
Mugarlin Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 Can anyone confirm whether or not this is compatible with his current "True" patch and also whether or not it is compatible with the Dev0lved ENB??? I have never used this Mega mod.. does it look just as good as.. or better than the Dev0lved ENB?? Any reply is appreciated. Thank you.
Tyrranus Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 some seriously evil thread necro goin on in here... Tess generally said his patches are compatible with any version of his mod, you just have to install the patch first then the mod
chad001 Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 Ok, time to continue the necro train! @scyth if you're still having that ctd issue, and you tried everything else, try getting a fresh 'vampire.dll' from Vampire/dlls/vampire.dll, and replace the one that comes with True Patch, that seemed to fix it for me.
Big_Pimpin Posted May 2, 2016 Posted May 2, 2016 (edited) Another necro. Ok here's the thing. The 2012 version isn't the final version. Took days of pouring over search engines, but I couldn't give up. It was on the internet at one point, it simply cannot be erased forever. I just new it was out there somewhere. Finally I was so desperate I was going to sites that aren't even in english. Sifting through the arcana, I was seeing download links i recognised to files I have. Encouraging sign, but nothing I haven't seen before. But then, I saw it. The year 2014 was mentiond, followed by another link. I had done it. Quaking with anticipation as I waited for it to download, it seemed too good to be true. Had to play it safe, gave a couple anti virus programs a crack at it. It's clean. It works. The Legend of Big_Pimpin and the Mega Mod was complete. mega:///#!WVdTXBzC!_6C_KI0BstA_NF1g0bymSLxwvnc28p08QbWylGaJcjQ Have fun, you perverts you. Just remember, when all seems lost and you want to give up, just ask yourself: What would Big_Pimpin do? (What Big_Pimpin would do, fyi, is to copy that address and post it anywhere you see someone looking for the mod, as well as tell them it's the best version and that they have the Legend of Big_Pimpin to thank for digging it up) If you're on windows 8 or higher this step will be mandatory to get it to run (because it's mandatory to get truepatch to run and truepatch is mandatory to get mega mod to run), copy pasted from a helpful user of the Tesseras board: If you have windows 8 or 8.1 do this1)Hit the windows key from your desktop2)go you your apps (the down arrow at the bottom of the screen3)scroll to the windows section (far right)4) Rightclick command prompt to run as administrator5) copy and paste this (without the quotes) EXACTLY and hit enter "sc config secdrv start= demand"Should work. It is, apparently, a security risk so I'd recommend you turn if off again whenever you stop playing, simply follow the above directions and copy/paste this instead "sc config secdrv start= disabled"Sources: http://steamcommunity.com/app/2600/discussions/0/517142892070567695/https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3086255 http://www.tessmage.com/forum/index.php?topic=58452.234 (very NSFW) Edited May 4, 2016 by Big_Pimpin
sidfu Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 some important info its compatible withi win 10. so if u on win 10 it wont work it will crash your game when u go to start a game. the mod author has stated he refuses to modfy the .exe thats causeing the issue since he hates win 10 and dont care about the ones useing his mod.
Big_Pimpin Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 some important info its compatible withi win 10. so if u on win 10 it wont work it will crash your game when u go to start a game. the mod author has stated he refuses to modfy the .exe thats causeing the issue since he hates win 10 and dont care about the ones useing his mod. Where did you find that? I'm not using windows: Spyware edition, but I'm not aware of any source engine games that require a patch to run on windows 10, so I can't think of a reason this would be any different. Even if it was a problem, compativility mode usually fixes that kind of thing (for games.) What *will* crash your game is messing up the install, using the unofficial patch instead of truepatch, messing up the install of truepatch, forgetting to change/delete the command line in the shortcut, using the wrong exe, and probably more. Manual installs are messy. Follow the directions exactly, if you have the GoG version: About the GOG version... No promises, but: Wesp5 isolated his content changes to a subfolder, and most of his engine changes seem to be overwritten during the installation of True Patch Gold. Here is the procedure for installing TPG to the GOG version of Bloodlines (not my instructions, in case that wasn't clear) : 1. Install the game. 2. Open the game folder (C:\GOG Games\VtMB) and delete the folder "Unofficial_Patch". 3. Extract the True Patch Gold archive to your desktop or another location. 4. Inside the extracted folder, find and open the folder "TRUE_PATCH_MAIN". Copy the contents (the folders "Bin" and "Vampire" and the file "vampire.exe") to the game folder (C:\GOG Games\VtMB). When asked if you want to merge folders, check the box "Do this for all current items" and select "Yes". When asked about files, check the box "Do this for the next 226 conflicts" and select "Copy and Replace". 5. Right-click on the "VTM Bloodlines" shortcut on your desktop and click "Properties". In the Target box, delete this part of the line: "-game Unofficial Patch". Click "Apply", wait, and then click "Okay". 6. (Optional but recommended) Enable Clan histories: a. Open the game folder (C:\GOG Games\VtMB). b. Open the folder "Vampire". c. Open the folder "cfg". d. Open the file "autoexec.cfg" in Notepad. e. Delete the two slashes before "vchar_edit_histories" and save the file. This seems to be working for me on Windows 7 64-bit. I don't have Windows 8 or 10 to test. Move and look seem just a bit off to me, but that's probably because Bloodlines is older game, and it's been about 3 years since I last played it. Check out the truepatch forum page or the discussions on GoG, both of which contain these instructions (they worked for me) and possibly updates.
sidfu Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 the mega mod dont use the unofficcal patch it uses the gold patch made by the guy who made the megamod pack. the unofficcal patch is fine for win 10 but not the patch neede4d for the mega mod pack. they are 2 differnt patches for the game. go to the maker of the megamod packs website in his forums he has a whole scare mongering post about why he refueses to updated the patch to work with win 10.
Big_Pimpin Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 Yeah, I know it uses the true patch. Those were instructions to getting the truepatch working on the GoG version. May or may not work, I've had both happen so far, but it can work. You're going to have to prove it. I've been there, I don't see any such post. I see Him stating that VTMB simply doesn't work on windows 10, that he doesn't know if he can fix it, and that as he doesn't use windows 10 (and there is still basically no reason to as DX12 hasn't been implementeed into many/any games) so even if he could he doesn't even have the ability to fix it and test properly. Don't play VTMB on windows 10, patch or no patch. There is no benefit to doing so, and lots of potential trouble. The reason it doesn't work on windows 10 is because windows 10 doesn't have safedisk drm that older games use, which means it breaks a hell of a lot more than just VTMB, the reason other source engine games escape the trouble is because valve owns/updates many of them through steam (which is also incompatible with VTMB)
sidfu Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 i give up u dont understand what i siad. and stop scare mongering about win 10. just cause win 10 dont support 15year old software dont make it bad.
dewguru Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 I use Windows 10 and play VTMB with mods. So far I've run into zero issues with Windows 10 and any game I play. Sure, some require compatibility settings of some kind to be set, but that's not difficult compared to what it takes to install some of the mods for various games.
NuclearSatan Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 What exactly is in this mega mod pack? Only nudeskins or also other things?
Mordyn Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 OK, after hours of searching, I was able to install and launch the game on Steam successfully with the mod. I'm on Windows 7 64 so beware if you are using a 32bits version. 0/Buy the game on Steam and install it. 1/Download the true patch : https://anon.click/?http://www.tessmage.com/download.htm 2/Download VTMB mega mod 3/Extract the true patch somewhere, and delete the patch given vampire.exe and \Vampire\dlls folder. 4/Extract VTMB mega mod somewhere else, and delete the same things as in 3/ 5/Copy the true patch content in the game installation folder (\Steam\SteamApps\common\Vampire The Masquerade - Bloodlines), overwrite when asked. 6/Copy VTMB mega mod content in the game installation folder (\Steam\SteamApps\common\Vampire The Masquerade - Bloodlines), overwrite when asked. 7/Add Steam path to the system (see there for a good explanation). 8/Download the zipped vampire.exe from this link and extract to overwrite the original steam one 9/Create a desktop shortcut of the game exe (vampire.exe) and add -heapsize 840000 to the target. See VTMB readme file for more details. 10/Optional: Use a sweetfx preset for some eye candy 11/ Launch the game and play!

Big_Pimpin Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 What exactly is in this mega mod pack? Only nudeskins or also other things? More than that. There are nudeskins (and poster and pinball machines,) but there are also non nude (though often skimpy, usually where it was skimpy in the vanilla game) skins and regualr retextures for various objects that just didn't look great in the vanilla game. Couldn't save yourself the trouble by installing it anywhere but with steam (stick it in my games or something) and not have to deal with VTMBs hatred of steam? If you use steam to launch everything then something is wrong with you. Try Launchbox instead, none of steams potential incompatability nonsense for older games because it launches everything from whatever path you tell it too, which means you can go around steam if the steam version is DRM free.

I'm not scare mongering. I'm saying that the main benefit to windows 10 for gaming is DX12, which is implemented in exactly 1 game. Considering the lack of the safedisk/securom support kills literally hundreds of old games, there is basically no benefit and a whole ton of trouble. The fualt is with the companies that put the DRM in the game in the first place, not MS (assuming there is a legitimate security risk) but that doesn't mean there are actual advantages to using windows 10 for gaming, because as of right now there aren't. It's not scaremongering, it's fact. Yes, using patches you can get VTMB running on windows 10. As far as I know, truepatch is not among them, at least if you want the fixes that were done with engine changes, which may or may not be important. Why are you trying to launch it through steam? Couldn't save yourself the trouble by installing it anywhere but with steam (stick it in my games or something) and not have to deal with VTMBs hatred of steam? Well, I bought and possess the game on Steam. And it works well. So? AFAIK it doesn't require steam to launch. Your hours were wasted when you could have simply moved it to literally anywhere but the steam folder and launched it from there just fine in the like 6 minutes it took to copy the files. You risk instability/compatibility issues that may or may not show up right away by installing it that way, which could very well cost you 20+ hours of gameplay when they do. I honestly don't think the textures actually require the rest of the pack, that would be really weird, but other things might.

Nope, not simple as that, as I've of course tried the copy/paste thing: - Using mod provided vampire.exe and dll makes any new game launch crash. - If you follow the VTMB mega mod, you need to add the target command -heapsize 840000 or else the game is unstable. -> You have to add the steam PATH or else you have an error "failed to find steam" and the game doesn't launch when you launch the shorcut. Even if the game is copied anywhere you want. And yes, using a nocd crashes new game, because the files are the same as the ones provided with the mods. - the vampire.exe file I provided is the normal steam one, only with >2gb flag activated so that the modded game launches without out of memory error. So yeah, maybe there is a better way, but it's certainly not just copy/paste, at least not for me.

The only thing keeping true patch gold from working on windows 10 is finding it when all anyone talks about and links to is that mod from the other asshole that "patches" VtMB. Source: I use the True Patch on Windows 10.
