Is there any reason why some packs have huge size? >4gb for a single mods' audio file is too much, why can't those files be compressed in fuz or any others format to reduce the size?

For example, some mods add dialogue to all possible followers, which means voiced lines for all standard voice types, and there are about a dozen of those.

Herowynne is correct. Add, multiply? that for mods whose main purpose is adding flavor via npc comments which can mean thousands of lines of dialogs (and we could be talking 5 figures here). Then the voice files are not just for followers but every npc in game and BAM you've got a mega load of data. Even packing the .fuz files into BSA's can only do so much.

Let me explain. The main reason is because the voice lines are generated for every voice type. For example If there is one voice in mod like "Who are you?" then it will be generated for every single voice type. and that's why it is huge in size. the size is around 16x of what it should be.

has anyone tried thief with thief voiced mod? i'm playing in LE version and already installed original thief and also installed thief voiced mod by extracted the bsa files from it, but once i loaded my game and save it, i cannot load it anymore. the game loading is infinite. and when i opened resaver, the save file cannot be opened. it says "error blablabla". i forgot what the exact information was. what could be wrong here? any tips please? i'm really confused how to play this thief mod along with the voiced mod.

@Frankenssteinn, did you get it fixed? When you say original thief, do you mean 1.0.0.8? Or do you mean thief 1.7? Make sure you're using the right combination. Check the support threads for thief and the voice packs to see if anybody had a problem. Might be a good idea to include your load order (behind a spoiler) and papyrus log if you have one.

i have not fixed it yet. the original thief i meant was 1.7, which was the newest version (i think). and i also downloaded the newest version of thief voiced mod, which was meant for 1.7. it seems that my game cannot sustain with huge loose files anymore though. it is because i have installed a lot of voiced mod already.

BUT... recently i tried downloading and installing troubles of heroine mod along with the voiced mod. and guess what? IT WORKED! but in one condition. i needed to save the game first, then proceed to the quest related npc like talking/greeting... to know what npcs' base sound they were using (let's say malenord). after that i closed the game, copy/move all malenord sound files including the folder itself that i have extracted to the game directory and then reloading the save again. it's a pain in the ass, but it's working. no crash or infinite loading screen anymore.

i wonder if i did the same thing on the thief mod, it will work also. but i have not try it yet...

FWIW, I realized different voice packs for "Slave Girls by hydragorgon" were listed under 2 separate mods due to names used. Have consolidated them so now, with some other recent changes, the total of mods voiced is 154. For those keeping track, 😇

Horray!  I made the list!  Several times =D.

Thank you for this list.  If I might add, it might be useful to separate out xVASynth generations into another category as these voices are slowly being phased out.  It would also help users find more modern voices and help mod authors (and I use that term very loosely for my own case) to identify which mods could use a voice update.

Oh, and you might be missing my Animal Research Voice pack. 😁

That's a thought, but there are 3 reasons why I organize by mods:

  1. It's easier for me to update the list, plain and simple.
  2. I think most people are looking to see if a voice pack is available for a specific mod more than how a vp was created. I could be wrong, but reason 1 would still override this. (My sanity takes priority over everything😉)
  3. There might be better tools out there that you mod authors are using, but voice packs are still being made with xVASynth. And ... people aren't always saying what tool they are using for a particular vp. That would be a big unknown category and as I get more information I would have to move around stuff. I prefer to avoid that.

Some time ago I did start adding a date when I updated or added a listing. That may not match the mod update date, but at least gives an idea of the age of that particular vp. No date means it is definitely an early vp. I also try to include the version of the mod for which the vp was made.

Going forward, if on the vp mod page or in the support thread comment containing the vp the author specifies what tool they used to create the vp, I will try to include that. If a mod author tells me that for their vp's A,B, & C they used tool X, then it will be easy enough to add that info for those specific vp's. It's ok to dm me with that information if it's easier.

due to names used

I'm definitely guilty of this. One example I can think of is Sexlab Aroused Creatures, in MCM its just Aroused Creatures so that's what I call it.

is there a reason on my end why the relationship dialogue overhaul unique character voices pack won't install just like the others through MO2 (extraction failed data error)?

Do you mean Relationship Dialogue System? The one here on LL? I guess it doesn't really matter since I don't use either RDO or RDS. Sorry for the digression.

Anyway, can you go to the folder where the archive is located and open the archive directly? If not, then you need to re-download. Sometimes a file can get messed up during the download process. Not often, but it does happen.

If you can open it and everything looks fine, then either re-download anyway because something could still be amiss with the archive or go through the support thread to see if anybody else had a problem.

Maybe try rebooting your computer. Sometimes after I've had my pc on for a few days things can start to go wonky. It seems like there's something wrong with my files or programs, but no, I just need a refresh with a reboot.

Since i couldn't find a voicepack for Dark Arena SSE i generated one and put it here in case someone wants it.

That's great! The more voice packs the better. If this is listed in the base mod support thread, or you have a mod page (for this pack specifically or if it is one of several  voice packs/mod tweaks you made), send me the link and I'll update the list. Thanks. 🙂

To all voice pack authors, going forward I'm willing to include the technology you used to make your vp's, if the information is on the mod page or in your post. Or you can let me know for any that's already on the list.

Now I'm going back to playing.

Since there's already voicepacks for most big / important mods available i don't think i'll make a page just for that one. Can't you just link the thread post? If not - feel free to upload it wherever you want ~
