updated to 1.3 and made this video, im having a hard time making the talks work:

I tried newest 1.3 version and it looks that it blocks notification (commentary during AAF) as well notification for AAF History 2.0 - when I uninstalled 1.3 and installed 1.2ver

notifications for AAF History and AAF commentary for this mod appearing again

just to be sure, are we talking about simply overwriting the existing installation or doing it after cleaning the save? As it's stated in the patch notes, to update to 1.3, cleaning the save is strongly recommended (I am about 90% sure it can stop working otherwise)

Yey.. and he has impeccable timing.. just when I released this mod

Jeez. There goes some work to dropping that dependency I guess. Thanks for reporting.

EDIT: Please check v1.4 out. Starting this version there's also No-poses patch you can install on top of the main file (you will need to overwrite the .esp with the one from the No-poses patch). It should remove the dependency on any posing mod - of course, together with PC's ability to pose during her phrases.

Hi!
I'm not using any mod manager, but I did clean all the files that i found using 1.1 and 1.3 winrar as guide, since i don't have the 1.2 and it was removed from the page.
Now updating to 1.4 and (removing 1.3 first, still i think they have the same filenames, but not taking chances)

Take a break btw my friend is amazing how fast you answer and post new versions! do you even sleep? LOL

Downloaded today, v1.4 (with THposes)

There was no init on start, nor when i restarted it through mcm, waited long enough, so no talks or commentary in-game.

Also, where should papyrus log generate? It wasn't in the docs/f4se with other logs

Same thing here with 1.4. Got all the requirements up and it initialized successfully, but the non-scene talk ain't popping up even after enabling it with 0th person and turning it on.

In the console whenever I play a pose from THposes, there's around 4 or 5 lines that seem to be the inactivity check and as far as I've seen, it checks out as inactive so I'm not sure what's causing the non-scene talk to not appear

I'm investigating this. My current hypothesis is that Fallout4 gets a bit overwhelmed with the analysis on the conditions. The way I do the saying now is relying on the engine parsing of conditions among a large number of topic entries on the same dialogue entry.

You can test it this way: just press Mouse3. It should try to play the dialogue line. If it doesn't - try it again, likely several times. Then it will actually show you the selected text. I'm also checking if with all the latest changes there is a situation that under certain conditions there's simply nothing PC can say, because there are a lot of internal checks on every entry, such as:

  • Time of day
  • PC's activity (moving/running/sneaking etc)
  • PC's clothing
  • etc..

By the way, to increase chances of PC saying the line, go to MCM and enable clothing in the quirks menu. That should widely increase the amount of topics PC can say.

Also, there's no need to limit yourself to 0th person anymore, anything apart from 3rd person should work.

well, what can I do. Today I practically had to release a hotfix since TH Poses mod went down.

How did you clean the save? Also, previous versions don't matter - if you've cleaned the save, it should start the init anew. Maybe you can check you log and show a bit of it here.

This is something I'll need to know. Nobody has yet reported this. You should start seeing percentages of init progress. If that doesn't happen and after ~300 seconds you don't see a popup message, then something definitely went wrong. You can the log in your users folder: ..\Documents\My Games\Fallout4\Logs\Script and the latest one is named Papyrus0.log . Yet again, please filter out the lines that contain "Lewd Talks" in them, it will greatly increase my chance of helping you

No, that won't do at all. The orphant refs and script instances will persist in the save even if the origin esp plugin is gone. If anything, removing the plugin without proper cleaning will likely make it (far) worse and indeed break it for good. That's not just with this mod, it's like - with any mod that's scripted.

I hope you still have a save before doing the whole "removing" stuff (you can do it on your current save too, but on that one chances are better). To clean the save:

  • Get Fallrim Tools
  • Open your save in the tool
  • Type LewdTalks in the filter text box
  • Select everything apart from the "esp"
  • Remove the instances, save the file (Ctrl+S)

That will allow you to properly remove the remaining stuff.

I don't have logs folder, all my logs are inside f4se folder. Script folder is also absent. No papyrus logs anywhere, should i have enabled them somewhere?

And when i launched the game there wasn't init percentages, looks like mod just didn't launch at all or something is blocking it. Any hard incompatibilities?

F4SE logs will have nothing to do with it. Looks like you need to Enable Logging first.

Search "Lewd Talks" (0 hits in 0 files of 1 searched)

Hmm, also looks like my aaf history stopped working properly, even though i ve been using it beforehand with no problems. Tried on a new safe - same story.

Will try some more tomorrow

My man, thanks for teaching me, i've learned a lot today, don't have a previus file, so...

LOL forget all this! i found out how to remove the instances on a simple tutorial, working on it and testing! Cheers!!

If AAF History stopped working .. well, then yes. Scene messages will fail completely. Maybe you can try cleaning your save and retry? For both AAF History and Lewd Talks? Btw, if you updated AAF History from 1.* to 2.0 then you definitely needed to clean the save before doing that (as stated on the mod page), it was a major version update

Hi Operand, attached are the plugins txt and the Lewd Talks Papyrus log. I did mange to get the Talks to work but nothing in AAF scenes I'm afraid.

THANKS!!

A great example of why filtering the log lets me help almost instantaneously. The culprit is here:

if (speaker.IsInScene() || speaker.IsTalking() || !GracePeriodHasPassed(callerId))
	return
endif

I will add better logging (separate for each case) anyways in next version so that this case is cleared. But what is likely happening:

  • Your PC is talking to someone (well, unlikely as I would imagine you don't test it while talking to an NPC, still - worth mentioning)
  • Your PC is in the scene. Attention - head-tracking mods / Player Comment mods and alike set PC into an "invisible" scene and this will fail this condition!
  • The grace period did not pass. If you moved too recently to the moment when the timer tried to invoke the dialogue line - then it will be skipped due to this check

to be honest I had a workaround in alpha release for this - instead of straight exiting the call it was waiting till PC was no longer busy with this stuff. It has its pro and cons but I decided for the less intrusive version. Perhaps it's worth adding this back, maybe configurable in MCM

Yep second this my aaf History ain't working either, but my game save is clean LOL

Well, after some cleaning and reinstalling and etc, doesn't work. Same goes for completely new safe. Looks like neither aaf history nor lewd talks even load into the game. Same goes for a completely new game.

I don't know what has changed, but I had previously used aaf history (don't remember version, but downloaded it relatively recently) and didn't have any problems with it, until redownloaded newest version for lewd talks

I don't know what has changed, but I had previo

Then you'd need to check your logs for AAF History and Lewd Talks. If for the new save it also doesn't work - I wonder if your installation is correct. AAF History would try to load even if dependencies aren't met, it will just complain about missing stuff in the logs.

No entries in papyrus log for history/lewd talk. Not sure about incorrect installation, aaf history doesn't really need much requirements and it was working alright until i replaced it yesterday

Since you've mentioned you've started the new game with AAF History / LT, I guess there's no way around it - I'd need to check the full log and the installed plugins list.

So i have a little bit of a different problem. Even with the Noposes esp, the main esp still requires THposes. The Init does pop up after a 150 seconds but MCM says the main esp is missing. Seems like the patch isn't able to overwrite the main esp.

Looking to that issue at the moment.

v1.5 is out

Hopefully it fixes the issue with the non-working patch for no-poses. Logging was also improved and some new features added. See the changelog + update instructions in the main post.

Well.. your problem is very obvious:

[07/05/2021 - 02:25:20PM] error: Unable to obtain function call information - returning None
stack:
	[AES_QUST_Counter (78000800)].aes:aes_kernel.RereadConfig() - "C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4\Data\Scripts\Source\User\AES\AES_Kernel.psc" Line 224

This points out that the method that AAF History tries to call is not found. I cannot fathom how that can normally happen apart from the situation when you either manually installed the mod and forgot to update the scripts - or your mod manager somehow made the same thing.

Now, you can try:

  1. Manually go to ..\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4\Data\Scripts and remove the folder named AES
  2. Then also go to ..\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4\Data\Scripts\Source\User and also remove the folder named AES
  3. Remove the AAFExtendedStats.esp from the ..\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4\Data folder
  4. Finally, reinstall the mod. Vortex should do the trick
  5. Start a new game and see if it now works

I'm using mo2, so i guess that's just how it injects mods during play sessions. The actual files stay in their designated mo2 mod folder

Anyway, sadly doing these 5 points you mentioned didn't help. Thanks for your time, sorry for causing trouble. I'm ready to give up ?
