Please note this thread is now discontinued and all the 4Shared has been removed, do not ask for them!

Need something from the Steam Workshop but don't want to subscribe and download it every time you want to reinstall it etc. Just drop a link into this thread and someone will get around to mirroring it somewhere. Most likely 4Shared and Mega.

Just try and keep all the mirrors in one place. You won't need to go around in the thread searching for the links as all mirrors will be in the OP. Users should note however that the mirror links WILL not be updated when a new versions comes out. You you want the new version please use the Steam Workshop Link.

There are mods like Faction: Pit Fighter which are good but aren't on the Nexus. You would be surprised what is on the workshop now.

I don't know if Steam Workshop has improved vis a vis Skyrim. When it first came out it was terrible at installing and uninstalling mods.

I have to say I am a bit divided on this thread. Enough at least to post this response:

First let me get this straight: I dislike steam a lot. I do think the current copyright laws do not fit to the current information age. The legal aspect of this is clear too: You are not allowed to upload those mods somewhere else, but I don't mind about laws too much, rather than the ethics and wether it is "right or wrong" to do so.

And I personally tend to wrong. Those modders invest a lot time to create those mods and offer them to you for free. Their reward is - besides satifaction of creating such stuff - feedback in the form of comments, statistics, rankings and so on and possibly donations. That all will be taken away by republishing the mods somehwere else as it cuts the connection between the author and the users.

Also most bigger websites have a commercial interest. I suppose that is to some degree true for LL but for sure for Nexus and so on as they make money by showing advertisement or selling memberships. It should be up to the modder to decide wether his work will be used as content for such websites (which then indirectly make money with his work) or not. I for one would be fairly annoyed to see my mod on Nexus or even Steam without my permission (not considering it might get banned there anyway) as I don't like those sites and do not want my work to be used by them.

In the end esp. because they offer their work for free I am more willing to give to accept the restriction they might set (where to download it) as it is at best a small inconvenience for the user to do so, while buying stuff really depends wether you can afford it.

Long story short: I don't think this thread should be here. It disrespects modders choices which is not fine just because they aren't on LL.

PS: 22GB for a quest mod

Steam has commercial interest too and a much bigger one than LL has. as they get money for every copy of skyrim sold ,also the workshop is bad and valve should feel bad ,no different versions, no optional downloads ,it isn't a useful tool for modders or users alike.

As for respecting modders that is the 1st rule of LL , and if a modder came here and said I don't want my work uploaded here it'd be taken down asap just as it happened with mockingbird's Lara mod .

The simple way to answer this is to contact the modder and ask their permision. This respects them and their wishes  and sends the required fuck you to Steam for travelling down the slippery slope.

I deal with contracts every day and see corporations and individuals place things in their contract that are not legal and everyone reads and accepts it as legal until it is put to trial or decision by a judge. They establish a public precedence. What people do not understand is that Steam writing this shit in their contract undermines the very core of the thought process introduced by the founders, for future generations to culminate, which is the essence of higher law, common law, unwritten law, etc. This essence is the persuit of happiness which in this case is the acqusition of property and is based on we hold these truths to be self evident. The Orwellian aspect slowly erodes and wittles away these truths through little unseen steps such as the eulah by Steam and takes away these rights to property.

So in this case to make a long story short this thread has a fiduciary obligation to be here and to avoid trampelling the rights of the individual modder ask there permission to post. All Fuck Steam.

I agree. Unfortunatly I doubt many would allow the reposting. And I'll also admit that due to requiring steam with all its known offenses this case might be borderline (again from an ethical POV, legally the case is clear) but due to being free (which takes away some of the problems with steam and property) imho the scale tips in favor for the modders.

The thread does not break any rules. Also if you read the 1st rule that rule is applied to this community not Steam. How is it disrespecting modders choice? If any it increases their player base.

I don't see how Copyright comes into this as all plugins are the property of Bethesda Softworks.

The biggest and most important thing of this community, is that the moders come first. They are the ones who make this community worth coming to, they are the ones enabling you to even play these mods.  Meaning if you don't like the way a mod is going, don't be a jerk about it, they can take the mod in whatever direction they want. Don't like it? Than make your own release and put the work in yourself. Find a bug or issue that needs to be fixed? Don't be a jerk about it and raise your concerns and feedback in a constructive manner.

The best mods from workshop IMO are :

Pit Fighters and it's travel add-on

Quest:Sorcery

And this collection .

But I'm already subscribed to them so unless anyone else asks for them no need to upload them .

Like I said I like Pit fighter indeed and I think it would be nice to have it linked here (now you have the link)

Never saw Sorcery before but looks nice.

I tried fight the Thalmos before and didnt enjoyed it...

That is a fairly selfish view in this context. So you don't care about modders unless they are part of this board?

How is it disrespecting modders choice?

Because they choose to publish it on Steams Workshop.

I don't see how Copyright comes into this as all plugins are the property of Bethesda Softworks.

That is wrong on all levels. First of all, Beth doesn't owns the copyright of plugins. EULA doesn't breaks the Berne Convention. But even if it would be so, then you would need Bethesda's permission.

And just as a side note, this is what Ashal (rightfully) requests for his own mod:

You must ask my permission before distributing this base framework on any site other than LoversLab.com
Posted

Yeah because SexLab is a LoversLab EXCLUSIVE MOD, most modding sites don't allow our mods to be hosted and will ban you for uploading them.

You if don't like it report the OP and let the site staff make the decision. If it wasn't for people on this board some mods on the Nexus and else where would be completely lost. Please take your point of view somewhere else and stop causing an argument in this thread.

Guys, enough talking about whether this "should" or "should not" be allowed, unless you are a mod author whose mod has been posted here and you wish it to be removed.  In that case simply PM Ark and he will remove the mod.

Thank you.

Just a heads up if you are mirroring links, please put the name of the mod author next to the mod, usually when I find a good mod by a user they usually have a good number of others
