Unfortunately, this isn't really in line with what I have in mind for my mods. There will be escape opportunities, but not as a game. I want to portray the slavers as a ruthless and efficient organization that is mainly interested in profit. In terms of them messing with you, there will be some taunts, eventually, through a magic PA system in the maze. And, of course, they will violate you, if they decide to put you through brothel training (if I am ever capable to creating those mechanics), but other than that you will be just merchandise for them. But I don't see any reason why someone else couldn't make what you suggest as an addon to Perilous Maze and/or Ambient Slaves, when these are in a more less complete state. Since I started AS, I decided that all further quest stuff beyond what is already there (in PM and AS), will be handled by a separate third mod, so anyone will be able to use the first two mods as a platform/stage for their stories.

Probably not, that is, provided that I am able to make the jump-scares in the first place. But the main features are already there. The only major thing that remains to be done is to hide the map marker and add references to point you to the maze without it... i.e. some dialogue in a pub, books etc. In the second level, I might have reached the limits of the engine with the size of the navmesh (I'm still waiting on more feedback), so I am less inclined to produce more levels. Even so, finding your way through the maze is by no means easy, as it is. Integration with Simple Slavery ++ should be working. The enslavement quest stuff, I'll put in another mod that will come on top of A Perilous Maze and Ambient Slaves...

I'll take a look at the NPC and see if something is amiss. It is strange though, as I haven't touched that particular NPC for ages and it is only since today that all those problems came up. Â On the other side though, to be honest, it seems to be more or less mandatory. If I understand it correctly, your slavery mod is intended to work as framework that offers the slaver faction and several outposts, whereas the maze mod puts some content on top of it. As this, and if the slavery mod is supposed to be a framework for other modders, too, it shouldn't rely on a content plugin but offer everything of the base by itself ... Â That's also a point for the Escape Game: if you don't want to add it to your maze (which I totally can understand), but another modder wants to build something like that with your slavery faction as base, users will need to install the maze too, even if they don't like it. That's not the point of a framework, at least in my eyes.

The recent trouble with Perilous Maze is swaying me to reversing it and making AS a requirement for it. Probably unavoidable. I guess I'll do it when I'm done with the current update of AS, so at least the naked guard issue is addressed before the pause it will require to make the transition.

aware of the whole framework discussion about moving the slaver part into a separate framework, so I'll just add my two cents here: I was initially primarily interested in the "Ambient Slaves SE" mod and pretty much only installed Perilous Maze since it was a hard requirement, so I'd definetly like to see the dependency being "inversed" if that's what the discussion is about. That being said, I've wanted to try this mod for quite some time anyways so I finally have an excuse to dive into it  Thanks for your time. I would not have the patience to endure the horrible behaviour of the Skyrim engine with next to no way to properly diagnose issues. You and every other Skyrim mod author has my highest respects for their dedication.

That could definitely be the issue, as I read somewhere that when vanilla navmeshes are changed, triangles are renumbered. This is not a problem as long as all the surrounging cells are vanilla (those get changed correspondingly to expect the new numbers, but if there is another mod also changing the navmesh within a cell or two, the expected triangle numbers will not match, causing a CTD. Since preserving the original numbering is enormously frustrating, I will leave it as is, for the time being. Maybe some volunteer adept at this kind of work can help out... but I am afraid it's beyond repair. When I first started with the mods I had no idea the navmesh system has this dumb issue. There's still a chance it's caused by something else. In any case, I am just about to test and then release a version of Ambient Slaves not dependent on A Perilous Maze. If all goes well, it should be within an hour or two.

Guest Posted March 14, 2021 Posted March 14, 2021 Okay guys, I have uploaded a version without the potentially faulty NPC. Please see if it works now (the NPC still exists as an object, but isn't included in any cell). Â Secondly, I have duplicated all the assets and painstakingly attached them again to all the 250 or so NPCs and other assets in Ambient Slaves, so AS should be now playable without APM. Worked in my VR game (I use CK in the SSE directory, so I can't use that for testing, as the files are always there, even if the mod isn't included in Vortex).

There is a ton of great mods, but none really hit the sweet spot for me. Encouragement from users like you is another great motivator that keeps me going when I otherwise may have given up. RealGesichtsfelsen Posted March 14, 2021 Posted March 14, 2021 Unfortunately I have to report that with just the Ambient Slaves mod it still crashes with the exact same reason on the exact same NPC (just the one duplicated to the other ESP) for me. Since I am the only person that has this issue (the other one seems navmesh related from how I understood your comment) I would not investigate this issue further if I were in your place. Â I intend to fully rebuild my load order within this month anyways (let's see if time works out though) since I have issues with my game randomly freezing without logging any crashdumps. I'll then try this mod again and see if the issue persists. Â Thanks!

It is very strange though that the problem is still with the same NPC. Did you try version 0.7e? because that particular NPC shouldn't be there at all. It is still in the list of objects in the .esp, but it doesn't get loaded, so I really doubt It can cause a crash. It's getting weirder and weirder.

It did happen to me, too that an update caused all saves within the maze to cause CTDs, but once I loaded an earlier game and went there again, everything worked perfectly, including saving and loading...

For the test mentioned in this post above the Maze mod was not installed at all. Sorry if that wasn't clear ? I never got as far as to the maze. My game crashes even if I "coc riverwood" (my prefered testing location, for whatever reason) from the main menu. I see the game world flashing for half a second after the load screen and then CTD with the crashdump on the previous page. Same behaviour with existing games. The same game itself without Perilous maze works perfectly fine.

Nor is her quest object present there. I never duplicated her. She's a unique voiced character created for the maze specifically. SO if it is this object that is giving you the trouble, then the files must have gotten messed up somehow. Nothing I can do about it on my side, unfortunately. You are using SE, are you? Could still be the navmeshes, I guess. When You rebuild the game, please try and install my mod early, and than see what mod causes the conflict, as you add them. If that isn't too much trouble. If we can identify it, than maybe I can do something about it. Though if it's the navmeshes, I probably won't until I most features are implemented, if it's even possible to fix them.

There is a revealed map marker right next to it. When you fast travel there, you will be standing facing away from it (to make it at least a little bit of a challenge to find it. The entrance is a pit you have to fall into. Needles to say, it isn't very safe, so better make a save.
knots1353 Posted March 15, 2021 Posted March 15, 2021 Two big issues I noticed with this had nothing to do with the actual maze itself... and were sufficiently bizarre enough for me to wonder if it was from this mod or something else, but when I took my minimal base MO2 profile (which is mainly the base game with bugfixes and SKYUi, then added the absolute minimal Sexlab / DD5 setup and the Zaz8 requirement, confirmed that it was fine, and then added this mod (original test was 0.7b, and the latest test with 0.7d), I was able to consistently duplicate them.  - First, when you fast travel to at least a number of places, possibly everywhere (definitely to Riverwood and Whiterun), a school of Slaughterfish appear where you do.  They don't attack or anything, being unable to move because they're not in water, but because they identify as enemies, they prevent further fast travel from the area.  - Second, when you pass through many doors (not all - but again most of them in whiterun for an easy test...), you don't end up at the usual spot on the other side - instead you're transported forwards a short distance.  In the case of the main Whiterun doors, when you enter Whiterun, you end up partially under the geometry.  I've got no idea how (or why) this is happening with your mod, but both are pretty significantly debilitating to gameplay.  As for the maze itself, I like the concept... looking forward to the jump scares and the like. Given the sexlab, dd, and slavery outcomes, perhaps some of the 'jump scares' in the maze can be other lost wanderers who seem to appear out of nowhere - maybe a rival slaver gang who has been trapped here - who, instead of attacking you with weapons, instead do so with devious devices, sex attacks, or both, before disappearing back into the dark again.
