I'd kinda like to see EA take there leave now. They offer terrible support, they seem to be against modding (you have to get on your knees and beg for a tool kit), they have (are) Origin (enough said right there), and they are pretty damn nosy (Origin is spyware).

Has everyone read their EULAs? If not, READ THEM! If you happen to have an Origin game like Sims 3, then they have already given out an awful lot of your information to the dreaded "3rd parties".

Their sports games seem to be getting worse, not better, they have a very small selection of games on their precious Origin, their FAQs answer none of questions, and if you've seen there forums, then you've probably noticed that they answer maybe 10% of the questions they've been asked.

Bioware should just take them over somehow or bail out on them.

Specifically, you should read the EULA for Sims: Medieval. It'll give you nightmares! In case you missed the 1st reason I can't stand them... THEY OFFER TERRIBLE SUPPORT!! Just to find out why my DA 2 was telling me that I could not load my game because the Signature Edition Rewards dlc is not installed (don't even have that version. Played fine until this suddenly happened), I went to EA's support section and waited for 65 minutes to get a live chat session going, and they just ended up giving me EA's phone # and telling me that a "specialist" will have the answers I seek. The worst part is, this live session of theirs is NOT a live person. It's an automated service, and a very obvious one. Also, every time I use it, my SuperAntiSpyware Professional tells me that I got like 5 adware.tracking cookies from them! Then I called the # they gave me and waited like 45 more minutes to talk to someone (after being lead in all the wrong directions by their stupid "press 1 for this game you don't have. Press 2 for this game you don't have" bullshit), all they managed to accomplish is get my Origin cloud in sync with my info for DA 2, right before I lost service on my phone and lost my call! Almost jumped off a fuckin' bridge at that point.

Anyway, I'm done ranting now, and I must remind everyone that I'm still waiting for (begging for) a sex mod for my beloved Dragon Age 2. At least something for the Blooming Rose! A whorehouse without sex is as useless as an ugly stripper. Sure it's there, but I'm sure as hell not paying to visit it!

At the risk of getting modders mad at me, I have to ask: Why can't the tool kit for DAO be used for DA 2? Same engine, right? Also, there are some mods for 2, so someone out there has the resources to mod DA 2. Mind sharing that info with us DA fanatics? The game could become popular all over again with the right mods. Just look at Skyrim (yes, another Skyrim reference). It's been out almost as long as DA 2, but since there is no end to the mods for it, it remains rediculously popular. GO DA!

Ha, I feel your pain! EA was always one of the more shady publishers, but what they've done in the last couple of years is beyond good and evil.

Well, by the same logic, it would have to work for Mass Effect as well, as that is also the same engine. But it's not that easy. EA won't have people mod their games, as that would rival their micropayment system. Why let people have something for free, if you could charge 5 bucks for every piece of shit armor retexture? They base their entire business model around nickel-and-diming people, so mods would be kind of counterintuitive from their perspective.

@BruceWayne: While that may be true, the games have been out long enough that anyone who wanted the game has already bought it. That said, giving up a tool kit now would invite many, many more people to buy the games. All the dlc's they planned on making are out already, and they're done making them. Therefore, the smartest thing they could do now is give up that damn tool kit! They've got it ready, no doubt, since that is what they use. All that's left is to upload it so we can download it. Honestly, I would even BUY the tool kit. I really would. D-A-2!...D-A-2!

Thing is, EA doesn't think that way. It sucks that they got ahold of Bioware, but so long as EA is alive they will make stupid choices. Notice that ME2 and DAO were well into development when EA bought Bioware. All of Bioware's titles that have been developed completely under EA have been flawed...

I suppose someone out there, somewhere, with modding experience is making a mod for DA 2 right now. It's going to be a hot sex mod in the "Rose" and I'll be the 1st to download it and totally love it! ...right?......Right!? :s

You really seem to like DA 2... Nothing wrong with that, but there aren't many people out there who share the love to the degree, that they open up their hex editors and hack a sex mod in there.

Again, courtesy of EA, they don't want modders hogging game time of the players, who would of course opt for the free stuff, instead of the "premium" content from them. That's their business model.

@BruceWayne: If you mean that *I* like DA2, well... I like it as much as a Libra can like. As for AwfulArchdemon, that is not my place to comment. But you're right about EA, anyone can see that much.

Posted

I was talking to no one in particular. I was just trying to say, that the train on modding Bioware games, or most EA games for that matter, has left. The notion that someone actually goes through the game with a hex editor should have given that away. No one is going to do that.

Add to that, that I personally think that DA 2 was a giant let-down. Bioware did away with most, if not all of the stuff that made DAO great and replaced it with dumbed down versions of everything and slapped it together in a very uninspired matter, for a cheap cash-out. No offence, I know some people still liked it and that is their right, but for me it's just another franchise which had great potential, that just isn't working out anymore.

On that, I agree. I mean, in DAO warriors were able to use bows, whereas in DA2 only rogues have Archery. Mages had Primal, Creation, Spirit, Entropy and whichever specialization you chose with 72 spells at your disposal. In DA2, true, you get Arcane and Elemental, but with less spells at your disposal and to get worse, you need to upgrade them to do more damage. In DAO magic affected EVERYTHING for mages; right now, they need to have the most powerful staff available and completely disregard magic and they can mow enemies down without too much trouble. And you even start with less spells and gain equal in DAO so you actually need to focus more on specializations than on other spells/talents. Hell, mages need to download Dalls Rogue set from Nexus, take Eyes of Fury and they'll rule. Sense, please? True, cross-class combo is neat, but considering that you can detonate them with only certain spells or talents makes it obsolete, because you need to focus on those spells and not everyone can detonate everything: Aveline can exploit Disorient only, same way Fenris and Carver can exploit Brittle, Sebastian as well, whereas Tallis and Isabela Stagger only, Varric can both ccc's exploit, same as Anders, Merrill, and Bethany(if Hawke isn't a mage) and Hawke depending on class you choose. And this is just the tip of the iceberg.

I am curious to see if DA3 can bring back some faith in Bioware. From what Ive heard what hurt DA2 the most was EA pushing out the game before it was ready. If DA3 is given the time it needs, It may be good, but I don't think EA is smart enough to wait for a finished product.

Posted

I am at the point of wait and see with Bioware for now.

Funny enough DA2 for me was a mixed bag, a bad sign but it had some good too. ME3 is what really hurt the brand IMO. I no longer trust Bioware, and I will only buy DA3 when a consensus of the game is out and the price has gone down. While I will not steal from EA I will never give them full price on their games EVER again.

Okay, just got off work. I sure do thank you guys and gals (?) for all the replies ;) . In our own small way, we're keeping the spirit of DA alive.

I'm not really in love with the game or anything, but it's a game I can beat a bunch of times and stay interested. When I finally got sick of it, I just stopped playing for a while and now I'm back to playing it all over again. I also don't have much of a problem with DA 2.

Granted, I miss being a dwarf and an elf, a lot, actually, and not being able to equip your teammates with whatever you want kinda sucks since you could already do that in 1 (why EA/Bioware would do away with that is beyond me), but that problem was rectified through MODDING.

They did, however, add some crucial improvements, like the actual fighting. Way better!

Then there's the most important thing of all, just like they did to Fable 3 (a sadly unmoddable game...), my PC has a voice! Shoulda thought of that in 1, but they might not have expected it to blow up into the most popular game of it's time like it did. No nudity sucks (OBVIOUSLY!), but what made them take away the brief interaction you have with your whore of choice before you nail 'em? It's like all we had! DA is one of the most perverse games in history, and yet they couldn't just take that leap and add nudity? They added swearing, but still no nudity? That's as bad as having no sex or nudity in Saint's Row 3! Neither game is for kids, and that's an obvious understatement, so what the hell? Dante's Inferno, God of War, The Witcher, even LA Noir, all have nudity (why did they even bother putting nudity in LA Noir?). Even the Sims get naked! Yeah, they have that infuriating mosaic, but they still take it off, and they can make out and bang! Now THAT'S a game for game for kids, yet perverted ass DA has nothing but a smooch? There's a whorehouse in both games! (sigh...) wish I had a punching bag... I'd put a big ass EA logo on it and go Rocky Balboa on that bitch.

Long story short, I haven't given up on DA. ME is fantastic, and at least that has sex in it, sort of. More than DA, at least. I'm already disappointed in 3, and it's not even out yet. Haven't they read any of our responses to DA 2? Still only humans can be used, and it appears to be a remake of 2. All the same exact people, including your PC, are in it, and your back to war with the qunari. Darkspawn might as well just disappear, since barely any attention is being paid to them anymore. Grey Wardens are people that you just sorta bump into now, so they no longer matter much either. The only thing that seems to matter now is the hate between mages and templars. And why does the hottest chick in the game have to be your sister?

Damn, this post is too long. I'm gonna bail on this particular post before I get warning points or something. lol DA has a lot to make up for, so I'd better see Morrigan, our son (I used a girl. lol Yay lesbo baby!), AND my PC from DAO in 3 if I'm gonna be happy, since she DID travel through the Eluvian with Morrigan. I'm gonna stay hopeful, and hopefully EA doesn't disappoint (YEAH RIGHT! :dodgy: ). Oh, and feel free to post any and all sex mods you guys find for DA 2 here on my surprisingly popular thread. Like i said, I'm staying hopeful!

                                                                                                                                                            Yours truly,  AwfulArchdemon post-111270-0-63892500-1366289101_thumb.jpg

Dammit. Looks like no porn in DA 2. :( (sniff)  Now I'll never get to plow the crap outta Kirkwall's whores. (cue the violin) It's just not fair! (sniff) Well, if it ever happens, this would be the likely place for it to be posted, so I'll just keep checking every 5 minutes (just kidding...kinda). (sniff) Faith...dwindling, hope...fading, urge to kill...rising...

You're right, and those fine contributors at the Nexus have my thanks! I'm gonna post all the mods I use right here.

Notes: Don't install all these mods at the same time! Crazy conflicts will happen! I have found nothing wrong with these mods, except for a slight neck seam issue with some of the revealing armors. Also, there may be a slight face/body color mismatch with the nude skins. For example, if you get naked and equip "Natural Brunette" hands, you'll notice that the hands are a slightly different color than the rest of your body. Also, don't install 2 different underwear replacers, or your game simply won't start. The DA_CharGenMorph_Compiler does not get installed to any game folder. It is a program, not a mod. Create a folder on your desktop and name it DA CharGenMorph Compiler, or anything you will recognize, and extract it there. If you are going to use the DA_CharGenMorph_Compiler (which you really should), do not extract the mods into your game folder! Which brings me to:

Installation: Create a folder to extract all of your mods into and name it DA 2 Extract Point or something similar. Extract all mods there that you'll be using. Create a subfolder on your desktop for each mod you're going to use. For example, if you're going to use Dalls_Girls_v14-3184-1.7, create a folder on your desktop and name it "Dalls Girls". Move the info from your Extract folder to your new subfolder, and place that, and all other new subfolders (with the extracted info inside of them) into Documents\Bioware\Dragon Age 2\packages\core\override. Then go to your DA Compiler folder (on your desktop) and run the DA_CharGenMorphCompiler.exe inside. This will change all appropriate .ini files to match the .ini that the installed mod just changed, instead of having to do all that yourself. Then, you're ready to play! Please read the "readme" files included in the files to answer questions. If you're not using the Compiler, just extract all .ef files strait into Documents\Bioware\Dragon Age 2\packages\core\override folder. You may have to mess with .ini files at that point though, which is why I recommend using the Compiler. Remember, when I said these are the mods I use, I don't mean I use them all at once! These are not all of the DA 2 mods on the Nexus, but I didn't download them all. Just these ones. Enjoy! :)

Additional notes: MotA Party Dress Replacer requires "Mark of the Assassin" dlc.

Don't forget to try out RL's many GORGEOUS armors. Since you have Equip Your Party and Diversified Follower Armors, you can have your companions wearing those armors too. The only catch is, you must have console enabled.

I tried to download/upload Grey Warden Armor from the Nexus too, but it just too big. Sorry, don't know how to break it down into 2 downloads. So...here's the link to the page I got all of these excellent mods from.

Also, thank you for bringing those mods to my attention,

Sun Shang Xiang

I didn't know about those for some reason. Thought I checked pretty well, but it seems people ARE finding me mods for DA 2. Thanks again, and enjoy DA fans!

I'll do the same for 3 the moment I find mods, and especially, the console command code. I bet it'll be done the same way, unless different engine means different code. I didn't even own a PC until DA 2 had been out for like a year+. I'll jump on it early as possible this time, but I wanna be positive there's no online MP 1st. Not sure I'd even want it for PC if it's unmoddable. I only have so much memory on my comp, and I already have DAO, DAA, and DA 2 on 360. My PC has Skyrim, all DAs, Sims 3 and like 5 expansions, Sims Medieval and the PaN expansion, Defiance, Diablo II and all dlcs, Fallout NV, and like 6 Studio S games, so no room for much dl-ing is left. We just gotta mod that shit somehow when it comes out. We just...gotta! :o

Between the Oblivion and New Vegas mods on this site, I'm very spoiled when it comes to mods.  Texture mods are fun and all, but what I really crave is the ability for that charging monster to throw me to the ground, tear off my clothes, and fill my womb with whatever vile seed it has.

I attempted to run Oblivion with adult mods, then play it like normal, but I ended up spending DAYS in spots where I knew I would make a good victim, or actively chasing down some monster that hadn't raped me recently.  Seeing other fantasy games like Fable or Dragon Age with really nasty monsters made me crave that same sort of "danger," but alas, they are not nearly as moddable as Bethesda games.  Maybe one day.

Alas, tis true. The whole reason I started this thread was to attract people who knew where mods like that could be found for DA2. I guess there aren't any. DA3 may actually be unmoddable, but we'll see. If so, It will be sad day for PC gamers who love DA games. It will be even worse if they decide to make a DA4. I'll have to dust off my X-Box for that. Forget installing a game that can't be modded on my PC. Not when I have a perfectly good, dust-covered X-Box. Haven't played it since the day I bought a PC. :P
