TheRightDoorIsNotTheLeft Posted November 14, 2020 Posted November 14, 2020 In the vanilla Dawnguard SE lost relic quests, you have to do 5 quests before Florentius Baenius will offer a lost relic quest. Does anyone know how to bypass the grind and go straight to the lost relic quests?
Alessia Wellington Posted November 14, 2020 Posted November 14, 2020 I suppose this quest has the same conditions as the Volkihar quest Ancient Power. One possible way would be to change the starting condition of the quest.

This quest has quite a few parent quests to it. All with different conditions on themselves. 8 minutes ago, Grey Cloud said: Can you not just setstage it/them? Nope. This is one of the quests you can't force start via console.

I've read from numerous veteran mod authors to avoid setstaging past quests because it might bork other quests -- unless the mod author specifically states to do so in specific instances. I follow that advice. In-game exploits or a mod patch, however, is a totally different story...
Just Don't Posted November 15, 2020 Posted November 15, 2020 You're asking for ways to avoid these quests. I don't see how you would complete the required radiant quests without actually doing them in the usual fashion or using setstage to complete them. You could minimize the commands usage by getting the quests in the usual way (talking to the NPCs) and only using setstage to get the quests completed, then you talk again with the NPC to get the reward/next quest and so on. You can check the specific quest stages and any additional notes in the UESP wiki. And keeping a backup save prior to doing any of this is standard procedure IMO. Worst case scenario you go back to the backup save and continue playing the game.
