How to adjust breast size of CBBE NPCs?

Recommended Posts

There are some CBBE NPCs I downloaded from Nexus, e.g. Oofium All in One Followers and Replacers SE. While I like what I see, I'd like to make some fine-tune adjustments. In particular, their breasts are WAY too big, even for a fantasy game. I'm not dissing the mod authors. After all, they put in the hard work. I'd just like to make some tweaks to fit my own tastes.

Is there a method I can use, or are they pretty much stuck the way they are?

This could help, but it is individual. You will need to edit every NPC you find   The Manipulator by ffabris for SE   However, it has its limits. You will not be able to change weight and make-up in general . For the changes you want to make, I think that's enough. Breast, you can correct it

Thanks. I didn't know about this. I'll give it a try.

That would be my recommendation too.

But . . .

If you download the second option there

Oofium AIO - Default - FOMOD

it will use the body etc which you have installed so the breasts shouldn't be extreme. It will only be the heads you are downloading.

For that instance, I can see that would make sense. There are other NPC downloads (usually ports from LE) that don't have that option.

The (fairly easy) way to do things it to swap out the followers' meshes.

Using that mod as an example:

The followers meshes are in Data\meshes\Oofium\ (3 x body files, 3 x hands and 3 x feet (there's a head file too but you shouldn't need that))

Your defualt meshes (your PC and the NPCs) wil be in

Data\meshes\actors\character\character assets (males and females are in there)

Simply copy the corresponding 9 files from character assets and paste them into the Oofium folder.

You can do the same trick if, say, you see a UUNP follower you like. Simply swap the UUNP meshes for your CBBE ones but also in this case, swap out the textures too.

Textures are in

Data\textures\actors\character\female\ (12 files 3 x body, hands and head this time)

I just tried out Manipulator SE and it did the trick. I need to play some more to determine whether the change is persistent across cell re-entries and saves. But I think Manipulator is the easiest way to solve my problem. What you're suggesting is probably the better long-term method for setting up known NPC mods for new play throughs.

I don't use EFF, but that suggestion would be helpful for people reading this thread who do use EFF.

It is as standalone available.

One can change ingame the bodies of npc's

I "modified" e.g. Ysolda's cbbe body. Need to save and reload b4 starting an animation.

One get's a spell which opens racemenue for the npc.

You do not need EFF.

The only thing anyone should need to change anything about the CBBE body or others in LE or SSE is BodySlide. Most outfits can be easily converted to whatever body type you like best. You can have everything built the same or you can build each piece of clothing/armor individually.

NPC females get the same body as the player. That's boring. Adjusting in game is far easier since changes are immediately visible *in situ*. And it's not a general change. It's by NPC. This is why The Manipulator or any other mod that provides linkage to racemenu for NPCs is useful. And while that version of racemenu isn't quite as versatile as the one for the player, (can't alter facial characteristics, can't load or save presets, can't change camera angle/position while in racemenu, can't sculpt), you can adjust far more than breast size too, btw.

However, there is a cost. Every change you make is (afaik) embedded into your save file, so I suppose bloat is or *could  possibly be* a long term concern if you wander around heavily adjusting every NPC you encounter, ie, it probably pays to limit the number of NPCs you fiddle with.

I find it really handy with followers to adjust their head height and forward position (for kissing), although I've noticed that setting doesn't seem to stick over a long time span (holds until I've been away from them for a while)  for my three main followers, perhaps because their structure is really old (UNP conversions to SE converted to BHUNP in SE) and they may not have the variables... or it's a bug or maybe some periodic cleanup utility...idk.

Good job explaining that and it does sound pretty cool. I only wish there was some easy reliable way to transfer my char face from racemenu to npcs for both games. Nifskope is still a mystery to me since I never take the time to see what all I can do with it. It's simpler for me to make a copy of the outfit and build it in Bodyslide for an npc or if I really want to go all out, make a new race for them. I use both CBBE and UNP and give specific chars I like custom bodies. I'm always experimenting.

As far as save bloat- is that still a problem in SSE? Haven't played it that much to know.

Well, in all fairness, not all outfits deal with racemenu changes gracefully, so there's that in favor of not using racemenu on NPCs. But I've found it indispensible in tailoring my followers to match their original UNP features, hard to do with just bodyslide (it lacks the fine tuning necessary). I build a base shape in bodyslide, then fine tune it with racemenu (which has many unique adjustments simply not found in bodyslide)... But yeah, I wish face transfers were easier.

save bloat: idk. I've heard the term and yeah my start game, is about half the size of my level ~55 game (~5M vs 10-11M), so idk if that's "bloat" or not. Frankly unless it makes the game break I don't care, I have plenty of space and can dump as much as I want to a backup drive if need be..

I use Stand alone EFF Cosmetic menu mod that brings up racemenu for npcs by a spell you can adjust main game npcs add on mods as long as there file structure is compatible, some mods are hard for it to read and you have to use spell several times for it to be seen or adjusted.

It works with 3BBB body, sometimes I have to use the spell fore 3bbb physics for the sliders to show up in mewnu

FWIW, Lazytools is another mod that can be used to mod an NPC body, although its abilities are somewhat limited. You *can adjust body weight, breast size, height, and a few other characteristics, but nothing as extensive a via racemenu for NPCs (as offered by the manipulator, etc).
