Sandatharius Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 I had this issue when I first started modding the game a couple of months ago. It worked ok in vanilla, but something is interfering with the sound the toilet makes when my Sims flush it. I was able to fix it, but now I can't recall what it was suggested I do. I know it's a mod causing it. I have: the most current Wicked Whims, BS Boobies, Walking Bounce, Noir and Dark Sims 4 Pornstar Cock, and about 6 or 7 animation packs for WW. I have no other mods right now. I did a search on here, too, where I remember seeing the solution, but I can't find anything and nothing by doing a search on the web.
Crashdown117 Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 Not sure, but if you haven't got any toilet-related CC, I'd say it's a script mod. Then again, since your list of mods is that short (and WW, its anims, and Noir's Pornstar Cock can be ruled out), you can just test all (well, both) suspects. Simply move the mods out of your Mods folder and delete "localthumbcache.package", then start the game to verify that everything works (because it should). Now, add one of them back into Mods, delete "localthumbcache" and test again. If the toilet sound goes missing again, delete the mod and test the other - just to be safe. If the toilet sound does not go missing, either add the other mod back in as well (just to be safe), or delete it right away.
Sandatharius Posted September 30, 2020 Author Posted September 30, 2020 Okay....thanks for the reply! I will give that a try.

Thanks, but all other audio is working perfectly. All sounds for what my Sims are doing are there. Showering, cooking, voices, TV sound, outdoor noises etc. etc. It's only the toilet flushing sound that's missing. As I mentioned, I've had this same thing before, and I was able to fix it, because someone else mentioned a particular mod was causing it, and what they did to solve it. I just can't remember what the mod was, or how I found the fix for it.

Wonder if it had anything to do with the ECO patch making sims 'peeing fire'? There was a mod to stop it you may still have installed. FalseHope_SafeToilets and I still have it installed myself but never paid much attention to ambient sounds to notice. Not even sure if it's still needed or if it was patched and no longer needed, but I never used composting toilets anyway. But it certainly seems like a toilet cc/mod. When you use so many mods and played sims for so long it's hard to remember all the quirks, bugs, fixes, and patches.

I started off a new install, no mods. Toilet sound was fine. I then installed the mods I listed above, plus some animation mod packs. I keep getting a feeling it was caused by one of the packs. I should try taking out animation packs one at a time, and see if it goes away. If it does, I'll go to that animator's support page and check the comments. I know there was a discussion with somebody posting about the missing toilet sound, what was causing it and how they fixed it. Also, I have no Origin packs or DLC other than Spa Day. I appreciate your reply!
Scorpio Posted October 2, 2020 Posted October 2, 2020 Just found this... https://www.loverslab.com/topic/154199-old-mod-needs-a-quick-fix-can-you-help/

My toilet sounds work fine without editing the BS Boobies mod so I'm a bit skeptical. Unless it has something to do with which version is used as my file is dated 6/30/2020 and haven't updated it since.

Sandatharius Posted October 3, 2020 Author Posted October 3, 2020 Thanks for the responses, Scorpio, and Hogsmaws. I recall fixing the issue, but I cannot remember how I did it, or what was causing it. I know I didn't edit anything in the Bouncing Boobies package, because (1) I didn't have S4S when I first got the game, and encountered the issue, and (2) I have no idea how to go about editing the package with S4S. My skills don't extend to that. So, that couldn't have been what fixed it. However, thank you Hogsmaws for the edited package. I will download that and try it. I will post again if it works. I mean, it's not a horrible thing to be missing the sound lol! I'm just one of these people with the need to have things work the way they are supposed to.EDIT: Update: Well, just tried my game with the updated mod, and that did the trick! Toilet sound has returned! Thanks to all who responded,
