Seems my headaches aren't over; can't launch the game WITH pluggy (for whatever reason something wrong with the .dlx file itself (not sure if the mod itself added in a screen saying it can't run it, or that was something else; like with a similar mod for Skyrim where you'd get a little popup saying "[something went wrong]"), already tried simply using 125-c to the same effect), can't run WITHOUT pluggy as I'd get 5 secs between prompts telling me that Pluggy's not installed.

Have you renamed OBSE_Elys_Pluggy.dll to OBSE_Elys_Pluggy-Hud.dll

Only ONE Pluggy.dll in the data\OBSE\Plugins folder, only the renamed HUD version.

 

In the data\OBSE\plugins folder

OBSE_Elys_Pluggy.dlx

OBSE_Elys_Pluggy_HUD.dll

weOCPS.dll   ( Oblivion crash protection System: is not necessary to play the mod, some say it causes crashes. I use it )

 

EDIT: You have OBSE installed ? And start the game with OBSE !

 

EDIT2 : I use Pluggy 125-c  ( no HUD, because I do not play Cursed Armour , and no other Mod I have needs the HUD version )

I have xOBSE 2.1, or whatever; my little dual-core APU laptop for whatever reason couldn't use the OBSE modded launcher (it's on the Nexus under "OBSE launcher" I think); xOBSE doesn't have the annoying popup about it's loader not needing to be launched like most modern SE's (like SSE and FOSE).

 

Previously tried Oblivion Working Girls (which also needed Pluggy) and ran into a problem where Pluggy wouldn't run when I launched Oblivion, despite having Vortex install it and also having told Vortex to run OBSE_loader when I press it's [play now] button (likely cause my setup isn't "optimal").

This much headache's not worth it anymore, getting a error/popup in-game that I need the HUD file (at about the same every 5 secs it does when you don't have Pluggy installed); having to rename the files to unzip the main file(s) to get to this point was wasted effort, as the necessary file is probably borked (or it was always borked) on my end, and I won't re download ~425 MBs of stuff to get a single file that might not be borked.

Your problem is OBSE

 

With no Steam Oblivion version you start Oblivion with obse_loader.exe (it's part of the OBSE download ( No Nexus Mod )

If you do not have Steam Oblivion:

Here my working files

OBSE

Pluggy (pluggy is HUD version )

OCPS

Elys_USV

Oblivion.7z

You unpack it in an empty folder

You open the Oblivion folder

You copy the 3 OBSE files and the data folder in your game Oblivion folder ( the 3 OBSE files must be in your Oblivion folder  )

You start the game with the obse_loader.exe  or OBSE and all OBSE plugins will not work !   ! If you do not use a Steam Oblivion version !

 

 

 

With Steam Oblivion you install the obse_steam_loader.dll  (also part of the OBSE download ) or download this

obse_steam_loader.7z

Unpack and copy in the Oblivion folder, delete the obse_loader.exe . (Yes, install my Oblivion.7z files first )

Start Oblivion with Oblivion.exe or Steam  ! more in the Link below  "Have you ever read" !

 

 

And why Vortex  ?????

 

And OBSE you can not install with a Modmanager !!! You must install it manually !!!! Modmanager install in the Oblivion\data folder, but OBSE files are in the Oblivion folder .

Personally, don't want to have to relearn a mod manager. Vortex isn't the best; but with Wyre Bash, OBMM, and LOOT, those 3 programs can handle most Vortex oddities (like OMODS, Bash installers and the general load order (though I think Vortex has a load order manager built in). I don't simply use just Vortex, as it's not ideal for a host of old mods (which are pretty much just omods, if not a manual install type mod).

LOOT does not work with Oblivion ! Also Vortex is not the best for Oblivion.

 

If you have OBMM and WyreBash it's okay. But not LOOT sorting ( I saw some LOOT sorted Mod lists... a miracle that the game started )

 

Just for testing I renamed my pluggy to HUD and it works without problems. (And you have all the files I use )

Where is your game ? C : program files x86 ???  

If yes OBSE and pluggy will not work correct. 

A few people get the game to work with OBSE and OBSE plugings, some can run it with OBSE but no OBSE plugins   and for most people game and CS with OBSE does not work.

NEVER install the game in C : program files x86 ! ! !

It's installed under programs, once tried to just move my install (without having Steam move it for me, it only works on moving to a different drive altogether; only on a 128gb m.2 ssd, don't really have the best setup) to desktop and got a Steam app error.

Using Pluggy off of the Nexus results in the paradox error, where in-game it would spam that it needs the hud file to run if I were to not replace the base Pluggy with this mod's version and I need to delete the only other file that Pluggy comes with for it to not tell me that Pluggy HUD is an older version and should be deleted (iirc) at launch like that .dlx error.

????  You install the working Nexus Puggy.

Then you rename the OBSE_Elys_Pluggy.dll  to  OBSE_Elys_Pluggy_HUD.dll .  Do NOT rename the OBSE_Elys_Pluggy.dlx

Both files are in your data\OBSE\plugins folder.

 

You DO NOT have a two dll in the folder !   NO OBSE_Elys_Pluggy_HUD.dll  and OBSE_Elys_Pluggy.dll

That is not the nexus download !!!!

 

And it can't work, there is no .dll  file ( Why are there files  without extension  ?  .dlx is displayed but no dll ?.  And the OBSE_Elys_Pluggy_HUD.dlx is wrong ! The dlx will not be renamed )

there are 3 files

OBSE_Elys_Pluggy.dll

OBSE_Elys_Pluggy.dlx

and a docs folder you don't need

You delete ALL Pluggy files in your data\OBSE\plugins folder ! (Also the weOCPS, why is there no .dll at the end ?  )

Then you copy the 125c OBSE_Elys_Pluggy.dll and OBSE_Elys_Pluggy.dlx in your data\OBSE\plugins folder.

Then you rename only the dll files ( OBSE_Elys_Pluggy.dll   to  OBSE_Elys_Pluggy_HUD.dll )

 

You only have two Pluggy files is your data\OBSE\plugins folder.

 

here the original 125c files and the weOCPS.dll

Pluggy v125c.7z

Install: Delete ALL pluggy files and weOCPS in you game OBSE\plugins folder.

Unpack the Pluggy v125c.7z  ,  open the folder and copy the 3 files and paste in your data\OBSE\plugins folder.

Then you only have two Pluggy files is your data\OBSE\plugins folder.

and the weOCPS.dll

and the weOCPS.dll

If you still get a error message then OBSE don't work... but I don't know why.

Those files do actually have an extension, just that they're in a category to the right off-"capture", those files are .dll files; for whatever bright idea (I don't know if it's a setting, or Win 10 just does it), the .dlx files aren't in a category, like with the .dll files, and are included with the name of the file.

Same thing happens with .log and .ini files, I don't know why.

You my man are a god amonst men my great thanks for this as i was reinstalling oblivion and both wanted and dreaded finding all the stuff for cursed armor again.

Where does the obsence chair and bed come from? in the room next to where you get the armor there is two missing texture blocks that the console says are those two things.

In the house in Skingrad are two rooms. One you can enter to start the quest (get the armor)

The other room is not finished and not ued in the Mod/Quest. Do not enter the room, you don't need it.
