Zhao_ Posted September 12, 2020 Posted September 12, 2020 So I played around with some settings and opened the original skyrim launcher, which began to automatically adjust my settings to my pc as if I first installed the game (which I obviously didn't want, but I probably never opened the launcher before). Now the game crashes after the bethesda logo and I can't say what setting I have to reset to make it work again. It's probably something that clashes with snapdragon ENB. Any ideas?

If it were ENB, here is an explanation of how and why ENBLocal is configured Skyrim Tutorial | ENBoost: CTD and Memory Patch

I doubt it is anything to do with the ENB unless you changed any settings manually. Crashes on start are generally missing masters or too many animations. Check in your mod manager if the launcher re-activated any plug-ins that you had deactivated thus taking you over the the limit.

From the last time I had to do this (I mean launch with the Original launcher and not SKSE) or accidentlly did this, I seem to recall it activated ALL my plugins. Not sure what Mod manager you use but I'd check it's not activated a mod it shouldn't have. Although I would also expect it would warn you if you now had a mod activated with missing master(s) Also 3 hours ago, ev4 said: So I played around with some settings What did you "play around" with? Were you following instructions of a mod or ENB or just experimenting?

Thanks for confirming that, I couldn't remember what it was that gave me those pop ups but even NMM will flag plugins as Red if they're missing a master, I'd assume more upto date and efficient ones do the same or more?

Yes, they'll flag them but only CF (AFAIK) actually puts up a message during the game load (before terminating the load).
Zhao_ Posted September 13, 2020 Author Posted September 13, 2020 I don't think it's a wrongly activated plugin. I started the launcher via Mod Organizer so there are no activated plugins in the launcher which weren't already activated in MO, at least as far as I can see. What I originally wanted to do, is to try if I could take 4k screenshots on a 2k monitor. I just changed one setting in the nvidia control panel and the resolution of the game. I reverted both settings now, so I thought it must have been something else the launcher changed. edit: sorry, wrong call, apparently it was additonal plugins. The launcher activated all the plugins in my overwrite folder. Didn't see those. Thanks everyone. (now i just have to figure out which of those I actually wanted to be activated)

Do you have old Steam mods? Changing your setting is unlikely to crash your game unless you went to ultra and do not have the rig to run it. Missing masters, 4k textures, ultra graphics.. if you do not have the rig to run it will CTD.... Remember Skyrim is a memory hungry game knowing what you have for vram, graphics card, and ram will help you decide how to play and make adjustments.
Andy14 Posted September 13, 2020 Posted September 13, 2020 The launcher overwrites your ini's AND the plugins.txt. If you are using SKSE, use NEVER the launcher without a backup of the files mentioned above!
