In brief It's a mod helping you teleport between two doors. Two spells are added to the player to place the doors. It's kind of like the teleporting in Diablo, if you leave one door in the city. A quest will introduce you how to use it. A story included. Why I make this mod - Introduction I like DD mods. But as we all know, playing skyrim with DD on you can be difficult, espectially when you disabled the fast travel function. Of course, you can enable it in MCM but the time will pass quickly and your arousal level will likely always be 100. You can always coc your character but it's not immersive. There are teleporting magic available. But for me, teleporting to anywhere you want seems too powerful. Increasing the magic cost will be a solution, but my dragonborn sometimes gets 0 max magic thanks to some other mods. So I got this idea. It's a restricted way to teleport your dragonborn, with just 20 magic cost. Besides having a way to be able to travel back to the city to ask for help, it can also be used in a battle. Place a door at the dungeon entrance to escape unexpected enermies. Or translocate rapidly in the battlefield to confuse the bandits. I want this mod to be immersive, so there will be a story line with multiple endings. Talk to NPCs and doors properly to get full function of the mod. Or else you'll have to pay, or wear some more DD every time you use the doors. In-Game Introduction Farengar Secretfire had the dragon stone for a while. You believe he may learn something useful from the dragon stone. Go ask him about it. (note: quest only available after you finish bleak falls barrow) Requirement Cursed loot and everything required by it. Recommanded 1. The quest can be reset if you feel the doors are not working properly, or you already hit a bad end. Go ask Farenga to reset the quest. Actually, talk with Farengar anytime if you get stuck. 2. Talk to the doors and NPCs carefully. You need to select right responses to hit the good end. But be careful, they might lie to you. 3. It might not be wise to use the door when the character was restricted in a place by other quests. I'm not sure actually. 4. Since we'll have to use cursed loot, all dialogues is desiged for female characters. Endings She_end: you'll trigger a cursed loot event everytime you use "she" door He_end: you'll have to pay "he" door to use it. But you may be able to get some money elsewhere. Good_end: You can use the door freely without any dialogue involved. Until "he" and "she" are able to talk with you again. No future braching of story will happen, though. How to get to the good end Spoiler When you find the girl door won't help you again, go ask Farengar what to do. During the conversation, a certain dialog has to be triggered to make it possible for you to know the truth and then tell it to the doors. Known issues 0. For some reason the spell might not work sometimes. If this happens, save the game and load it. 1. I'm not a native English speaker so the dialogue might be weired sometimes... 2. The mod work on my PC. But as a new modder, I'm not sure if I'm packing and uploading it correctly. Let me know if there are problems. 3. The conversation with the doors can't be skipped. It's something related to CreationKit I believe. Future Plan As you can see, it's a quite easy mod. This is actually just a practice for me. The next step for me is to make use of the amputation framework to enrich the experience of being defeated. I'm still learning but if you have any ideas, I'm glad to know. I would like to report two issues I've encountered while using it: 1) The door's placement seems to be offset from the player's head as if it were meant to be from their feet. Floating doors 4 dayzzzz 2) There seems to be a script cleanup issue: every time I cast either spell it adds a spell cooldown to my ongoing effects but doesn't purge the previous casting. My active effects menu has a bunch of different instances of both spell effects with their own countdowns

Probably because I have a long list of effects already from other mods so didn't check that carefully... Now it's fixed. There will still be an effects but it will just last for 5 seconds. I put the door a little bit higher on purpose to avoid potential conficts. But you're right it's probably too high. Now it's closer to the ground.
cetuximab Posted August 29, 2020 Posted August 29, 2020 Hey, I suppose this mod is complete from a story perspective, but if you ever did want to add to it, I have a story suggestion: Slavetat's Branding Device of Doom has a joke "story" on it's page (in the release notes) about a defective teleportation spell that sometimes accidentally teleports the caster into a BDOD and applies a tat. Unfortunately, it's just a joke, and there's no actual quest to have it happen. This mod might be a perfect place for this to sometimes occur though, when you go through the door!

I'm having the same problem. I have to steal the spell books in the bedroom but nothing happens after the special effects of the spell cast. There's a door in Farengar's bedroom, but interacting with it I just get a, "hello" and nothing else.

If I take the books on the table, they don't summon anything.

(I'm surprised you guys actually checked his bedroom, it's supposed to be Farenga's private place! ). Since this seems only happen for 1.1 version, maybe I've somehow changed the script? I'll check it tomorrow. 2 Talking to the door doesn't work Dialogue only happens if the quest start normally. This actually makes sense. The script that's supposed to run after talking with Farenga didn't work so when talking to the doors there is only a "hello". 3 Can't summon the door I'm not sure what's happening since everything works on my PC. There was one issue. When I test this mod I can only summon the door in Farenga's room. If I summon the doors outside the room I can see the effect but nothing show up. If I look up and down at the location and try to search for the door sometimes I can activate the dialogue. This problem was somehow solved after I re-compile the script and start a new save. It's also weird that the script only work on one door, since both doors use exactly the same script. I guess I need to re-compile all the scripts and also see if I can optimize it. From the error messages it seem like a script type mismatch.

Apparently its also not retroactive. it doesn't seem to work in an old save after you cleared bleak falls. or maybe its just because I used a custom save file.

But I have to admit that I've not idea how to fix this after trying several methods. I install SkyrimSE on another computer and try this mod on one old save, it doesn't work, while, still, it's working perfectly on my original computer... So far it seems like the "moveto" script doesn't attach to anything at all in old saves for unknown reasons. I'll try some save cleaning tool to see if it solves the problem. If the dialogue doesn't show up, or there is something wrong, it means the quest stages are messed after re-installation. The stages can be reset by using console: "help dss_ to" find 3 quests. "setstage" to set all stages to 1 to fully reset the quest. Here is the 1.0 version. I actually just changed some parameters so there shouldn't be major differences... Doors story.rar

Doors story.rar 21.03 kB · 2 downloads I just got a change to test the 1.0 version. I was able to summon the She door but not the He door and at some point the she door turns invisible (but that might just be my fault since everyone in my game is turning invisible). I'm guessing the door to door money exchange is the good ending? All the dialog worked and I can definitely see why you picked that picture for the mod.
